I was there 😃🥰
g0in @ dat gum like a narcissist?
Man I'm crying 😢 he seems soooo down to earth I hate cte may they all rest in peace ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Gwynn was a terrific hitter. Probably only Ted obsessed more. I’d choose Ted because of the extreme power he generated. Pitchers feared him so much. With his eye, he walked OVER 2000 TIMES! Ted’s OBP is .481, still number 1 all time. Ted lost FIVE PRIME SEASONS fighting two wars
Next day, the Dodgers played the Houston Astros and got into a bench clearing brawl. Kenny Landreaux was hit by a pitch by Astro reliever Frank LaCorte and charged the mound.
Dude brings such good vibes that girl was SO thirsty for him 😉
4:45 - "You might want to cover the best tight end in the NFL. There's an idea." 😄
This team was stacked
Tony Gwynn is the best pure hitter ever in my opinion
Wings and Things a Buffalo family that migrated too!
Came from Buffalo shortly before this event!
Marge Schott seemed like a crazy bitch but I wonder if she was trying to put the woman stamp!
No way in hell Torretta should've won that award!
As the head coach of both the Chiefs and Chargers, Schottenheimer record vs. Browns is 4-1-1. That includes a Browns vs Chiefs 10-10 tie in 1989
2024
Exactly, was thinking the same thing myself.
Sadly died from CTE.
Cheers San Diego. Fun memories to watch. 23 years hah. We were sweating after taylor got out, luckily he didn't field my hit to left field in the first clip, then the error allowed me to score. Then the boys showed up.
You guys were great, what a thrill following your amazing journey, glad I kept some of these vids. My son was on the San Carlos team that fell short that year even though they had high hopes as well.
He was destined to go to NE!
Boy Padres have come a long way since this
Sosa was the biggest fraud ever. Zero integrity or comparison to Gwynn.
I wish all athletes, in all sports, in every corner of the earth were like Tony Gwynn. He’s the embodiment of a professional.
Brian and Mo in the back 😂
Great Doc. Miss ya T. Man, we had it so good in the 90's with Gwynn and being able to watch Maddux on TBS, good shit. We also got to see Maddux pitch in San Diego, albeit at the end of his career, but still just fun to watch his guide the ball wherever he wanted.
Who are these nerds
Gus has more passing yard in a game than John Elway is wild
I was at this game! Just before my 10th birthday. October 6, 2011. Phil Nevin hit 3HR including a grand slam! We were up in the left field section chanting for Rickey! I love that this clip was uploaded. So often you'll get the highlights of when someone gets a milestone, but not often do you get the highlights of just before - all the tension and anticipation is just as much a beautiful thing. You can really feel it through this video. Thank you for the upload!
My dad an ATC Naval chief petty officer at Miramar we were stationed there from 76 to 84 i miss those years ...we saw crap padres until we made the world series in 84 ...i live in AZ now but im still a fan
Best game Ever Leaf was great why isn't he in the hall of fame???
Kind of a nuttinburger
Classic commercial!!!
I was at this game and quickly realized that it was going to be a hard next few years on ND football. Jimmy Clausen was an accurate thrower but a terrible leader and wasnt a high iq quarterback.
@4:20 seems like Rivers tells LT to go out on the flat to get the attention of the CB guarding Jackson as he knew he had safety help behind him. As the DB seems to slow down for that split second. Still the pass had to be inch perfect which it was. But clever QB play
Why did that retarded dude throw that ball forward
The Einstein of Hitting a Baseball. The hardest thing to do in professional sports.
200 hits per season is wild
so happy to find this, my dad was SDSU head coach in 92-94
Indeed. Tony Fuller. How's he doing?
@@sdtimemachine8084 Great! Has Authored a book and retired, enjoying life after a long coaching career.
@@sdtimemachine8084 if you have any other content from these years id love to see it
Greg NEVER struck him out
Why does one get misty eyed whenever we see Tony?
How cool!
❤❤ R.I.L USO...Miss watching you play ❤❤
Did he just say "pitchers are not the brightest guy on the field"? Wow
4:16 Tony Gwynn: “Consistency is the name of the game… So at the end of the year, sometimes it’s gonna be .380, sometimes it’s gonna be .320.” Geez Gwynn was a master. His “bad season” is still HOF quality. And he ended his career hitting.338 in the modern era
RIP Ken Caminiti 🙏🙏
I was there.
Off speed k*lls.
Where is he now?
I was 12 when I attended this game with my dad 💖. My little league team played in the same county as Oceanside, but we didn't make it far enough to have the chance to face them. A few years ago, my dad was diagnosed with stage 4 terminal cancer and the memory of watching this game with him from the stands is something I will always cherish 💔❤️
Thanks for sharing
