In my area we have lots of red cedar ,,,,well I take red cedar sawdust n green twigs and boil them in water for a few hrs and then let it cool down ,,,,strain out the liquid and putbin,a spray bottle ,,,when I set my trap I spray the cedar spray all over my set were I was at ,,,,this helps hide my scent ,,,,,works great ,,,,,

I remember buying this video and ordering gear from you when you were in Chamberlain SD back in the late 80's early 90's.

One of my traps I checked today had been dug around to expose it and also was snapped but still sitting in the trap bed. This was the best dig out job I have ever seen. Very neatly done. So I am going to try some of these super neat tricks in this video. . Thanks for sharing them.

They are probably actually rolling on your set. Putting lure on the pan of the trap as this video suggests will also encourage rolling which will result in more misses. Just my .02

Thought I have seen every video Tom Miranda has ever made, first time I seen this one pretty clever, I have had digger fax in the past I was able to sneak around and get a few, but a few of them I never did catch, I wish I would’ve knew about this trick

I find digger fox every year and I love it, it gives me chance to outwit them. I have two great tricks. One is to make a while new set in the near by area but, the trap bed that would usually hold the trap doesn't. I then place the trap to the highest ground level to the false bed and then blend it in to the surrounding area. Always works. Second trick is by placing as many sticks and other debris as necessary to cover all of the trap jaws, leaving the only place the fox to step is on pan. I have found that digger fox will start their digging attempts at the obvious trap bed perimeter edge and work their way in until they find the nearest trap jaw to them and then with their toe nails tug it quickly from the bed. But when taking that option away from them, odds flip to the trapper. Happy trapping.

Typically not- as cats aren't really trap shy and canines dig because 1-a loose trap or 2 contaminated trap. Thanks for watching.. TomM

Id rather clean the pan with automotive wax and grease remover, and just use any sticky-back sandpaper. You can possibly find aerosol "prep" spray and DA paper at any auto parts store. Go with 80 grit or more coarse.

Sodder a treble hook on the trap pan.

Most likely catch a lot of possum skunks and other unwanted catches by doing that because of such a light pan tension. I won’t be trying this one, no way Jose
