  • @nabeels1183

Dont knw how much today's youth appreciate Indica. It was a revolutionary car in the 90s. Generated 1.5 lakh bookings within a week after launch Maruti got scared and slashed the prices of M800. Even that didn't save the 800. Indica became segment leader by 2002 and continued to sell 8k monthly even as late as 2008. Even though it got petrol engines for most part of its life cycle, it was the quintessential diesel cae. The best version of Indica is the eV2 that came out in 2012 I think. Very basic but built to last and that decently powerful CR4 engine was a gem - 25 kmpl mileage.

    Actually the pattern is
    Vista-Bolt-Altroz
    Indica-tiago.
    Aria-Hexa-New safari(Hexa was a legend)
    Indigo-Manza-zest

I have 2012 model which is still running. I did few modifications to this car engine and still i am traveling all the way between chennai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru quite frequently. When I bought this car (2012 model but i bought in 2016) it's has few issues like stability at higer than 80km/h which is sort out by changing the tyres to one number bigger size, now i am traveling at 100 km/h without any issues, over heating problem is solved by updating the heater fan with higer capacity one. And finally comfort is ultimate. When I planned to buy new car my family is not satisfied with any of the new cars in terms of comfort and still wants to run this car further.

When indica is introduced by Ratan Tata
All the cars to be abandoned like Ambassador, fiat padamani delux ,Maruti close the shutters 🤣😂etcc....
Really It was a mini rocket on Indian roads but some of the minor issues indica got failure fame ....but according to my opinion really indica is a THE GAME CHANGER beat out every car on roads
    Torque and engine performance 💥
    Excellent level build 💪 quality
There is no body rolling over in 120 kmph
    Best car in thus segment
Tata indica introduced in various varieties some of them
    DLS,DLE,DLG,DLX,XETA etc...
Really Tata indica is iconic 💜 cars with best engine performance 👏 👌
My top speed in Tata indica was 155kmph...

We have a 2007 Indigo TDI which my dad bought brand new.
Done almost 1.7L KM with no major work. (Was 1.6L before covid hit, I bought 1.4 TDI Fabia during covid so Indigo became a secondary car else could have crossed 2L easily till now)
If you take care of things, they last! And our Indigo is a prime example of this quote.
We've driven it to places, MH, GJ, KA, KL, TN and what not.. never troubled us anywhere when we were out on the road apart from one incident when it had overheated in Khambatki ghat that too because of my fault, I was pushing it to limits with AC on and 4 people on board + trunk full of luggage.
Take care of her when she's in garage and she'll take care of you when you're out on the road! ❤️
Rusting has started on few spots but apart from that it's still as good as a new one.
These cars are really a piece of art, all you need is patience and sync with the car!

These are (Heater) cars, Meaning you have to give heater before starting. If not given properly , it will not start, even after having enough diesel. I have one so I can tell. You were just/within a second of ignition starting it, thats the reason it was not starting. Its the different scene when you are out of fuel. You can see the heater icon bottom right corner in the cluster. The round ring like structure, its the heater symbol. Give heater 1-2 times it will start.

Had a way better suspension than the maruti's of that time. Just if tata had managed to sort out its minor niggles, those minor quality issues and changed its design over period of time then this car would still be selling in respectable volumes...

You can't start it without pressing the accelerator.
Indigo tdi, for 40k rupees, we changed the clutch plate, timing belt, water pump, wheel bearings, serviced the fuel injectors, minor wirings & general service (engine & tranny oil change, minor break job) including labour charges & gst. Which is impossible for any other car.
We have a figo too, parts are 1.5 to 2 times expensive compared to indigo.

I have still this Indica V2, 2007 model diesel Engne,, Engine speciafications: Power 54 bhp, Torque 83nm, 1405cc, 4 cylinder, 2 valve per cylinder, the weight of tata indica is 1080 kg,, the power of weight ration tata indica 2007 is most underrated. The engine is naturally aspirated. We completed 170000 km in 16 years. We are staisfied from this car. Still now we get mileage highway 21km/L in city 16-17 km/L.
Pros: best Suspension , build quality superbb, good stability, steering feeback, more spacious,
Cons : underpower engine, when on the AC engine performance very poor, engine noise very high, alternate belt every after 10 thousand killometer,
Our next car will also Tata may be Punch or Nexon.

I remember hating this car so much! Whenever we needed a cab my dad would call a cab, every single time indica came.
I supremely hated it bcz of its smell and noise.. I don't think if there was a time that I didn't puke . But later when my uncle bought a indica vista, it smelled really nice and got a chilled ac as well . And then I started to like it but later this car disappeared from the road .

That time it was not with a turbocharger. Indigo XL was a lemo as far as interior space is concerned. AT Chennai Airport once it was only these cars used to make you seat, all were used to XL. Really comfy
