From the Ukrainian perspective it may look like it is Poland that is brings up the issue over and over again (and you may ask yourselves: "why do they care so much about events from 80 years ago?"). But from our, Polish, perspective, it's the other way around: it looks like Ukraine doesn't want to stop using УПА symbolism, and renounce that organization's questionable “heroes”, of which some were directly responsible for the murders... Can you imagine the EU flag flying next to a black-red УПА flag? Also, the exhumation of victims is currently being blocked. This tears up wounds that would have healed a long time ago. I mean, the Germans did so much worse things but have fully acknowledged that and now the issue is solved. We know that the Polish state before WW2 wasn't fair towards Ukrainians, but the victims - mostly peasants - were the least responsible for this. We know that Russia benefits from this feud and wish for a closure, but we cannot do it ourselves, we have to end this together with you.
