also, what i love about this style and time of emo/screamo was the subtle uses of double bass on the drums. reminds me of matchbook romances greatest fall. just a little double bass goes along way when timed perfectly and not overdone and i really appreciated it in the break down. ill have to play this on better headphones to pick up all the other nuances that my shitty hearing cant hear much these days.

You can ALWAYS throw out a suggestion! I've been asked to do that like 4 times this week alone, I really need to start working on it sometime soon!!
@@toddbarriage I will hit you with a suggesto on every video, because your style and content is so good! Much appreciation for your kickassery
This is THE best music thing I've seen on YT all year.... had goosebumps everywhere.....
oh wow, thank you!!! can palms get goosebumps? that would actually be so helpful, ‘cause cold reduces grip strength but goosebumps would kinda counter that… i’m rambling, i really appreciate you checking this out!
First time hearing your stuff, great work dude. This is what a cover should be. Keep it up. I've got to go binge your channel now.
Hey, thank you so much!! I’m glad you enjoyed this, & I hope you have fun with the other videos :) got another coming in about 11 hours as well!
You're a real musical mechanic! Thank you for the new emotions
Wow, thank you so much!! 💙
“You know the ones. They had two singers, and neither of them could really sing” -proceed to sing like gods
It’s all about the HEART 🥲
Commented before the song was over, idc, this deserves another one lol duuuudddeeee that BREAKDOWN??!!!! WHOOOOOAAAAA!!!
DIRECTED BY MICHAEL BAY
💥BOOOOOOOM💥
never knew i needed it until now
i am here to heal u
agora da pra eu gostar de ac dc hahaha
haha obrigado!
this is amazing as always, great job todd.
That breakdown fucking slaps
One of the best I have heard
Thank you thank you thank you 💙 the breakdown is basically Got Some Purple Stuff by Sydney, but heavier haha I think you’d like that band/song!
@@toddbarriage I'll check them out thanks!
I cannot fucking believe you made me like an AC/DC song this slaps like a screen door in a hurricane.
yoooo let's go!! thank you!
:OOOOOOO 🕺🕺
💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻
Someone needs to tell Matt Cutshall to get in here, this hits the emo spots in all the right ways!
yoooo thank you so much! & that would be such a fun crossover!
This song contains more different riffs than AC/DC's entire discography
lmao 💙
I am angry that this is so good. Keep it up!
haha thanks Trogdor!! I'll keep musicking as long as you keep burninating
This was one of the first songs that got me into rock. This version is so refreshing to listen to and I love it so much :)))
Yoooo, I’m so glad you enjoyed it!!
Knocking it out of the park as always... and as an Aussie... this is some fair dinkum quality.
Adds a whole new feeling to the song too...
Sound not only emo but punk too❤️🤘
Gotta bring the edge 💙
Dude! When the song started, the first thing that came to my mind was ''Damn, that sounds like the band Sydney'', which I listened to way too much 10 years ago. Such a great work once again!
YEAH SWEET ANOTHER SYDNEY FAN!! I used Got Some Purple Stuff as my guide for this, tweaking stuff so it’s legally distinct, but arguably a full-on mashup of Sydney and AC/DC lmao. Makes me happy to see them recognized. Glad you enjoyed this, Julien!
Hooooooly shit my friend, this is on another level. Thank you for this masterpiece.
Hey, thank you!
This is super emo and super amazing!! Your "but it is super emo" videos and songs are just my favorites *-*
Honestly didn’t think anyone else remembered Sydney. What a band
they’re SO. GOOD. it makes me happy that other people can hear their influence on this (not that I disguised it very much lmao)
Dude this is pure perfection. If anyone had told me beforehand "hey Imma go and make Back In Black emo" I would've laughed my ass off, but this works so well I can hardly believe it
Please make more of this! Instant sub
Hey, thank you so much!! I've done a few before, and they're my favourite thing to make so I've been planning to go harder in this direction going forward :) You asking for more makes that more likely

Stoked to make more stuff for you in the future!
Dude!! I was literally the 1st vote for this(doubters go look at the poll) and thought there was no way it was gonna happen. Not only did you make it happen but holy shit I want this on my Spotify Playlist man! Literally one of the best covers of all time if not the best. Good job my friend
:edit, happy Thanksgiving man, I am thankful for this masterpiece
Man, thanks Geoff! I’ll get this submitted to Spotify today, hopefully it’ll be up in a week or so :) If you liked this, it’s worth checking out the band Sydney as well! They were around in Ontario in the ‘00s and I took hefty inspiration from them to make this haha
@@toddbarriage will do. I'm still waiting for you and melton to get together for a track. I saw in the vote comments something about maybe an everlong cover in the future?!
I think Alex already did Everlong, but I might do one myself eventually! also Back in Black is on my spotify now :)
@Todd Barriage he did but it was halftime drums... anyways my other request of motionless in white 570 but super emo makes sense because it's a story of how the band became the band they are today which I interpret as an emotional song(emo) check out the lyrics, it might be one to crush as they gain popularity
@@toddbarriage oh yea, and back in black just got added to my Spotify 'the shit list' as in good shit my dude
This level of quality should have at least 100K views really.
you rock, thank you 💙 i think this one might slowly get there, it's been ramping up! unless i just jynxed it... hm. whoops
This is fucking gorgeous dude!!! Gonna be playing this multiple times a day for a while! If you ever release an album of covers like this or original stuff I'm buying everything you make! Just curious- which bands were your reference/inspiration for this (especially hey hey part)
Hey, thank you so so so much! I have music up all over the place under my name, as well as my band Theatria :) not a lot in the way of physical CDs, but toddsfaceonashirt.com has shirts with my face on them lmao
The overall song structure was VERY derivative of the band Sydney. Like it might as well have been a Sydney cover lmao. Saosin, Taking Back Sunday, and The Used all have certain tendencies I borrowed too (the guitar is very Saosin-based, the layered bridge vocals are a TBS vibe, the ending is inspired by The Used)
The hey hey hey, on the other hand… that was AC/DC! The original back in black does those, so I just like… did that, but within the context of an emo song :)
Goosebumps. This is amazing
Oh hell yeah, that means a lot! Thanks!
Never knew that I missed emo ac/dc in my life. My man's voice hits like a truck !
Thanks Vince!! I love letting my voice just fly lmao I’m glad it works for you!
The creativity coming from this cover is above the limits. Freaking good job.
You weren't lying, that ending was amazing and you stuck it
Ahhhh thank you!! I was very lucky to have my screams sounding so feral yesterday. They're always so hit and miss!
Cant stop listening to this
oh hell yeah, keep it goin'! haha i'm stoked you're into this
Holy shit, this is incredible. I'mma say something real controversial here, but this is far better than the original.
hell ya fighting words let’s ggoooooOOOOOO 🎉🎉💃🏻💃🏻
@@toddbarriage yeah tbh I'm in agreement here dude, you're on another level and I'm here for it.
I'll go: no it's not. But it's great on another level :)
@RK9th I’ll back you up on that. I agree 110%!
That's exactly what I felt
Brooooo, this slappsssss!!!
Wait, this is the same person on all these instruments? Impressive!❤
Hey, thanks!! & yeah all my videos are all me 💙 unless I collaborate with someone else obvs
I totally forgot that this was a ACDC cover for a moment. You totally crushed it!
This song is not as popular as it should be, and somehow you managed to really transform this song into a new form entirely. I never had a doubt.
Brings a whole new meaning to “back in black”
Back in Black is back in black
Best cover yet, hands down. Amazing. The layering and chorus, just damn. 15/10. Need this cover on Spotify asap.
Man, thank you so much! I submitted this last week, just waiting for the cover license to clear. Should be up at some point this week :)
Hey, just letting you know it's on Spotify now!
@@toddbarriage Instantly saved and liked.Thank you!
@@BigSteele you freakin’ rock, I hope you’re having a great day!
Damn dude this is the best _____ goes punk song Ive heard in a long time!
Thanks Sean, that’s really cool of you to say!!
@@toddbarriage I didn't expect it to work but it fit perfectly! Subscribed. Keep it up man!
@@sean_mccadden Oh hell yeah, thank you again! I'ma do my best!
hey this is great but, bowling for soup didn't write stacy's mom
They also did not invent the bicycle! 😆
They covered it
But they covered it as a joke years later because everyone said it was their favorite bfs song.
1985 as well
Stop HATING!!!
Well done!! Amazing song and the vocal overlays and screamo were spot on! One of my favorites of yours so far
Crazy good. You have a much deeper repertoire of styles within the genre than anyone else online. When the voting public finally lets you do Cher…it will be the end of all things. In a good way.
Thank you Dan 💙 I started my list of songs to crank out in 2023 (December is entirely Christmas-themed because I’m one of *those* people lmao) and Believe is on there, I’m gonna do it, polls be damned!
Just found your channel like a couple of weeks ago, and now my youtube playlist for music while working consists of: your channel.
Congrats, it's great. ALL of them.
10/10 would recommend to anyone!
... Also I can't believe you dont have more subs with this kind of quality, honestly, great fking job.
Oh wow, thank you so much!! I’m happy my stuff scratches the music itch for you! RUclips’s a hard game, I’m not really sure how to grow the channel other than just making the best stuff I can and hoping for the best each week haha
@@toddbarriage Welp, keep on going, with this kind of quality and that voice you'll be alot bigger by the end of next year, I'm sure of it. 💪
Also, for reference, I found you through a collab, so maybe more of those is the way to go? 🎉
Esse é um dos covers mais animais que já vi/ouvi em toda minha vida e surpreso com poucos views 😳. 👌🏻🔥🖤🇧🇷
Isso é tão legal da sua parte dizer, obrigado! 💙🇨🇦
Angus in the back with the emo fringe haha gold bro
lmao he's actually still my background, he'll likely live there for a while!
Singing is too good to be emo 🤣🤣 LMAO jk but this shit is fire 🔥 you earned my sub, can't wait to see the other covers, wish other bands were comfortable with complete style changes, the bridge is especially amazing
hahahaha thanks, I'm super happy you enjoyed this! I'm going full christmas mode for the next few weeks, but my plan for 2023 is just... a lot more of this
being an ac/dc fan for 3 decades now i have to admit that this is an amazing take on this classic.....well done!
I genuinely appreciate you giving this a chance, and I'm happy you enjoyed it! It can be tricky covering such an iconic song in a different style like this
@@toddbarriage i can imagine as everyone knows the original and it is kind of a holy song.....but really well done
wow, i gotta go listen to the original cause i dont recall it at all but this is a masterpiece. the arrangement, the production, the cleans the screams, just killed it. you always do a great job and they are always fun, but this is legit next level for you. when you wrapped it up did it feel that way? what did you think when you were done?
also, what i love about this style and time of emo/screamo was the subtle uses of double bass on the drums. reminds me of matchbook romances greatest fall. just a little double bass goes along way when timed perfectly and not overdone and i really appreciated it in the break down. ill have to play this on better headphones to pick up all the other nuances that my shitty hearing cant hear much these days.
hey, thanks!! make sure you check out Got Some Purple Stuff by Sydney too, this is as much a cover of that song as it is Back In Black lmao
honestly, every video i make is usually my new favourite / most proud moment. i’m horrified of peaking, so i’m always aiming upward y’know?
it takes a few days for the excitement to fade before i *really* know how i feel - but if this manages to dethrone She’s So High as my favourite me-video i’d be stoked!!
@@toddbarriage sneaky sneaky! great job! i havent heard of them, i like it
Well goddamn RUclips you've once again recommended another banger Creator! Instasubbed so much pure talent in this video!
You’re so kind, thank you!! I’m going on a bit of a Christmas shitpost binge for the next week and a half haha, but once I get that out of my system I’ll be making more stuff like this :)
Outrageous 👌👌
This is so freakin catchy! Love your work Todd ❤ keep it up 🤘
