There’s nothing quite like it - full recipe below! 👇🏽🔥

1. Get yourself a large skillet! Ideally you want to be cooking everything in one pan so all the flavours get to know each other
2. Lightly oil the pan and add two sausages on med-heat. Keep turning every minute or so until golden, then leave to one side
3. Slice your black pudding and add to the pan, cook for 2 mins on med-high, flip and repeat, then set aside
4. A full English calls for back bacon, but I use both streaky and back. Place your streaky bacon down first, cook till golden and crispy, then add your back bacon in next and do the same
5. Add some chopped button mushrooms, season, add thyme and sauté ~3-4 mins, set aside
6. Add in your vine cherry tomatoes + 1 halved tomato and allow to sear/caramelise, then add your sourdough and toast in the residual fat
7. Meanwhile, add your beans to a sauce pan, season, add thyme and leave to heat
8. For the rosti, peel, grate and rinse your potato till water runs clear, then squeeze out excess water. Add to a bowl with 4tbsp melted butter, 1tbsp corn starch, sea salt, black pepp
9. Mix together, then shape into patties. Cook these in some olive oil and butter on medium-high for 7-10 mins, flipping every few mins and basting till golden and crispy
10. Once done, set aside and crack your eggs into the same pan to fry
11. Plate up and serve with a nice cup of English breakfast tea!

By the time he finishes making 'breakfast', it's already night.
After such a breakfast, you can immediately go to bed, sleep, until the next morning and have such a breakfast again
For people whining about the amount of protein, this type of breakfast wasn't intended as a typical "everyday" breakfast as many who worked physically demanding jobs didn't really eat until dinner. So a really high protein+fatty breakfast lasted them until then as workdays can be as long as 10+ hours.

I have never seen potatotes being prepared like that. Also, this is a great breakfast for a farmer who gets up very early in the morning and has a lot of phisical work the entire morning. Otherwise if you just live a normal urban life the meal after this one might as well be dinner at night

I don't understand why so many people are complaining about this meal, it looks very good, yeah it's a lot of food but at least it's better than cereal or just a toast... I find it especially funny bc this is a lil bit similar to a 'bandeja paisa', both have fried eggs, black pudding and beans
What did it for me was the fact he didn't finish the meal. Like everything looked nicely cooked but why couldn't he have finished it? 🤔

Hello everyone!
People have things to say both ways about the full English breakfast so I'll just provide some context:
-This is a very rich version of a fry-up and would probably be served in a nice restaurant. Most people would not eat vine tomatoes or rösti and would enjoy a pared-down version of what's been made here. The tradition is to just use back bacon and not streaky as well.
-The full English apparently emerged in the 1800s as a less expensive alternative to the rich country breakfasts enjoyed by the upper classes, and the reason it's such a large amount of food is that it sets a person up for a day of hard work. Nowadays, people have this as a treat, a hangover cure or even as an evening meal. It's not something eaten every day as it takes too long to make and because it's very fatty.
-The dark sausage is black pudding. It's made with pig's blood, oatmeal and spices. Additionally, the sausages likely contain a variety of savoury spices too.
- I understand the joke about British food having no flavour, but traditional French food doesn't enjoy the same scrutiny despite a lot of the traditional seasonings being the same across both cultures. Additionally, since the meats, eggs and vegetables have lots of flavour on their own, the dish doesn't really require heavy seasoning with strong spices. You wouldn't put Chinese five spice on spaghetti carbonara for the same reason.
- I'm sure that we all have better things to do than exchange pot shots over FOOD of all things so let's just leave it there

In puerto Rico, we do rice and bean with over easy eggs and toast with butter❤ and in the usa we would do pancakes or waffles, 2 eggs, bacon or sausage or both even, home fries which is similar to the style of potatoes u made with a side of toast...

Lived in UK many years, didn't get sliced bread or any bread in english breakfast. Always potatoes.
Depends on the region? I live in UK and get bread. When I go to Norhtern Ireland I get potatoe bread, soda bread 😊
In London we have two types of bread, deep fried slice of white bread on the plate with eggs on top, 2 buttered toast on the side mop everything up
