The emphasis is on the VO, not the LA! Great band, been a fan for a good few years, seen them live probably 3 or 4 times. Always great to see, Asger is a monster on guitar and vocals.
It makes me smile to see you checking out VOLA again. This band always puts me in a good mood. Actually seeing them on Sept 16th! Been one of my top 3 bands for about 3 years now. Found them randomly on a Spotify playlist. Not usually a fan of djent or pop centric elements, but theirs just WORKS.
The drummer, Adam Janzi, is so very good! The band's got a few drum playthroughs on their channel as well. If you'd be interested, the 24 Light-Years drum playthrough is stunning to watch.
These guys go from stank-face breakdown to gorgeous bridge in an instant, so no need to apologize for calling it pretty. It is, and I dare say it's the most danceable metal I've ever heard. Glad you went back to them, and I hope you get the chance to see them live one day. They'll be on the west coast next month. Close, but still half an ocean away, I suppose...
Still here. You made sense. Full composition in metal is back. For the song I'm suggesting here, I had to use several headphone types to hear the subtlety flying all over this space. Earthside - Let the Truth Speak ruclips.net/video/IxrRwoRODmo/видео.html
VOLA is one of those sleeper bands. They're very big on their off-time rhythms and chord changes, but on more recent albums they've focused more on background audio and broader audience appeal. Definitely worth peeling through their discography.
Called it, lol. Going from the line “Are you puzzled now?” Into that huge overblown chorus is awesome. Now my only knock on the song is wishing the breakdown was both longer and heavier.
I think it nailed the vola identity but didn't advance the vola identity. The real question is how this song will fit in the next album and where are they going with it.
I think that this band is good for guys that want to love djent and progressive metal but cant get into Meshuggah or TesseracT or other famous djent band
@@austinmattoon1890 this is good band, but I had the same situation with Katatonia, great band, but when you're trying to get into their music you feel that something is missing, especially after Opeth and Porcupine Tree. But now I understood that this is about emotion, not music, however Katatonia have a lot musically good songs, I like Deliberation, Rusted, Ashen, Idle Blood. And I have now the same situation with VOLA, I feel that something is missing but I like it
I have 2 more AMAZING VOLA songs for you to check out......These Black Claws and Alien Shivers. Honestly these 2 songs are 2 of their best in my opinion.
Thanks for the great analysis and the chicken skin, Geebz 😁💙
💜💜💜
I love you guys :D Great music as always and Geebz breaks it down nicely.
vola is baaack, always getting eargasms from their stuff
I cannot overstate how hype I am for a new VOLA album! This track is a perfect combination of old and new VOLA, unreal!
VOLA is one of my favorite bands, I'm so excited to have new music from them
I just saw them in LA..! What an incredible show. Sounded just like their records. Great musicianship both in record and live onstage.
Eles são incríveis ao vivo, realmente
Vola is brilliant! Thrilled to see you experience one of their songs. This one has been an amazing listen.
he's done a few before. I really want to see his reaction to 24 light years, but I don't think he's done that one before

Vola never misses. Their new album is phenomenal. They are my all time favorite band for a reason.
I absolutely love this song! Love your reviews!
These guys are the real deal! Amazing live band as well
Great multi layered song with a great bass player
5:19 I make this same face when a band plays a spicy/ weird chord change. Almost like "AHHHHH, men of culture I see."
I noticed that too haha had the same reaction on my first listen.
Thank u Geebz 😊
I'm seeing them for the 2nd time in a few weeks. Can't wait
Same..Chicago?

Nice shirt!
Man I thought someone was trying to steal my car...but it was just the intro
Remember the name: "Nuclear Power Trio" You'll really dig them.
best way i could describe that synth was 'warbly' but hot damn it was real good to listen too it on repeat
Would love to see you check out Vildhjarta’s new single :) its mindblowing
Strong agree!
Still here! Overdone production on the chorus for my taste (could grow on me), but I dig the song overall. Breakdown is fun. Thanks for the reaction!

Dammm!!..Jonney on the spot with the Vola!!!! If you and anyone reading this get a chance to see them live....do it! These riffs hit extra hard live❤❤
