Whatever gets the job done! All respect to Al for evolving his game. More here: ruclips.net/video/Ew-O7RRHqq4/видео.html
No doubt. He is a killer post season also. You saw the vibes last night. He turns up to 1000 in big games
call out Simmons if you dare
The way JJ's little co host dresses makes me want to assault him. Please let him know as soon as possible.
🍀🍀🍀🍀🏆🏆🏆🏆
Just a class act and never heard anyone have a bad thing to say about him.
Sixers fans trash him all the time lol, where you been.
@@markhunt575 perfectly put lmao
He never called my mother back
@@alaye5583 But I bet he called you on your birthday.
i hate him but that’s because i’m a bucks fan
Al Horford's longevity and effectiveness is truly remarkable. He is the consummate professional.
Him and Brook Lopez are prime examples of players who adapted to the new style of play
Yeah mane love that dude.
@@charl_lee 🎯
Seriously, dudes prime years were like 8 years ago and he’s still balling
Remember when Philly fans said he was dead 😂😂
Bro gives me Smart Hulk vibes 😂
I've been a fan of Big Al for some time now.. A class act all around.
And now he's 2nd in the entire league in 3 point percentage this season
WOW! Shows it can really be worked on
I like Al, he's a true professional. The only thing I don't like is that shooting form.
If only Ben could have that confidence as well.
Old guy here - Larry Bird shot the ball and positioned his hands in much the same way.
That Atlanta team was so good all around
Al Horford, Keyshawn Johnson and Dwight Howard: Team Little Head. 🤣
I like the form, it reminds me of an overhead projector.
Makes no sense but whatever bro
@@artificialintelligence7988 Okay, if you don't know what an overhead projector looks like, just say that. 🤣
Me and horford shoot alike. My hand does that naturally too. When my hand is on the side of the ball I have no control. Kyrie shoots slightly like that as well
Steph Curry and Reggie Miller are two of the greatest ever, but they don't have prototypical jumpshots while
Klay Thompson and Ray Allen have picture perfect jumpshots.
JJ will be calling Horford a “plumber” in a few years
Celtics needs to stop going on this man’s show. First he jinks Derick White, now Al Horford
If aint broke dont fix it 😂
Forgot Pero Antic even existed
Al Horford top 2 3 and D big men in the league
Him Korver and Antic was peak basketball. Wish we saw them vs the warriors in 2015.
Al sounds like another Athlete I can’t put my mind on it though
Come on JJ, you know the league made a decision to go away from post play and literally bugs have just become screeners and defensive focus
it works tho
Al horford blows y the hell he is in there for that many minutes & williams is beyond me!!!!!!!!!
This was tied with the mathurin episode as the most boring interview. Not you or Tommy’s fault either
Why JJ always look like he high
he's retired, why not? 🤣
Bro looks 20
Filter?
Cringiest shooting form in the league, but he shuts you up quick when he knocks them in
The real definition of if it ain’t broke don’t fix it 🤣

yoooooooooooooooooooooo
Robert Williams better be paying attention to his vet...
I agree, Rob doesn’t really need a shot right now but here in the next few years, especially if the injuries keep racking up he’s gonna need to learn how to shoot to stay relevant.
The frustrating thing is that Rob has a good looking stroke from the mid-range, but doesn't get encouraged to develop that part of his game. He'd be so dangerous if that was added in
@@timothyjudge4807 I swear it seems like he always makes his mid range shots when he takes them and he’s a decent free throw shooter. I wouldn’t b surprised if he develops a shot in a few years.
@@Yrgzip0 i 100% think it's something he will start working on this off season. Same with maybe a baby hook move or push shot that a lot of other bigs utilize... I've already noticed since he has been back he hardly goes for the big ally-ops anymore. (Which is good) save those knees for defense and rebounding.
@@ImBluecams naw he needs it asap, I love rob but he’s like AD when he was on the pelicans, explosive 2 way big man who would get injured a lot
Al Horford is the reason i cant respect a player that doesnt at least try to learn to shoot when they need it for their game. Al Horford went from 0 3pt shots to being top 5 in 3pt Percentage over the years. Its not easy but its never impossible
*cough* ben simmons *cough*
Just say Ben Simmons, we all know who you're talking about.
@@ananthropomorphictalkinggo6641 First to come to mind but will most likely not be the Last🤷🏾♂️
It’s not really the same cause horford was already a shooter with good mechanics he just didn’t have the range. Buuuut brook lopez is a different story
Brook Lopez as well
Al Horford is like an old dude on a pick up game that destroys everyone with hook shots and post play playing in his slippers
So you out here getting cooked by a old man in slippers lol
@@jaycharlton613 🤣
#facts
and then joins for a game of horse and bombs threepointers
That has never happened..
Joakim and al's shots are art. Abstract art but art nonetheless
And they played together 😂
😂😂
Joakim huh!? 😂
modern art lol
one has a chance to go in while the other one goes air or brick😂
Horford looks like he’s getting on Apollo 11
🤣🤣🤣
Fun fact: Horford has by far the best 3-point percentage by a center this season at 45.1%, and the 6th highest 3-point percentage by a center all time, at 37.8%.
Horford also mentioned Sam Perkins, the man who was infamously drafted in between Michael Jordan and Charles Barkley. He has the second highest 3-point percentage by a center of all time.
Jordan and Hakeem
@@thebigmanufacturer that’s Sam Bowie he’s talking about Perkins
@@timcoakley6860confusing asf lmao
Sam Perkins was drafted after MJ, Sam Bowie was drafted at 2 between dream and 🐐.
And a big reason MJ a college champion
5:06 starts talking about his form
THANX 🎉
Al Horford's shooting form looks mechanical as hell. You can tell that he's practiced that motion so many times that his hand almost can't not do it, even when his form is arguably wrong. Ben Simmons has no excuse. He's not trying or he's giving up during the inevitable early failures instead of pushing through them. This is what Charles Barkley is talking about when he says things are getting soft, because instead of encouraging Simmons to push through the adversity and developmental struggles, people were telling him he doesn't need to score. Maybe not. But is that really how we want to "support" people when they encounter difficulty? To run from it. We're going to have a generation of one dimensional 1st grade drop-outs if that catches on.
I agree with your Ben Simmons take, but using Ben as an example for this whole generation of basketball players is blatantly wrong. For every coddled Ben equivalent who stagnates and declines, there’s plenty of guys who continuously improve themselves to be the best they can be.
Ben Simmons got nonstop criticism for refusing to shoot so I don't know what you're remembering.
Could not agree more with this post
@@MrElephantBeach he's referring to his coaches and trainers on the sixers and the nets. They publicly defended him saying media is wrong that he doesn't need to shoot.
Ben Simmons has had a crippling back injury for nearly two years hard to make any definitive claims ab that
it's actually insane how good of a basketball player he still is at this age, legitimately the only reason the Celtics even looked competitive in the finals
Him and JB
Cmon jj don’t get him questioning his jump shot right before the playoffs lol
One my favorite players. Was one the more consistent players during the finals.
Pau Gasol had a similar shooting form (and a similar career path as a spacer)
Definitely.
Pau was already shooting the FIBA 3 pointer before joining the NBA.
Bucks fan here, but I have to be honest, I really like Al, committed player and great veteran for the C's
People make fun of Horford or Shawn Marion’s shooting form, but they can make more shots in a season than your average hooper could in a lifetime
It just goes to show that some players aren’t just as committed to basketball as others like Al Horford.
Shawn marion jumpshot was quick too
I was a big Matrix fan, but yeah even I couldn't defend his shooting form. In reality sadly it prevented him from getting full recognition he deserved
@@panafrocanam2100 I was at a Laker game back when Marion was with the Suns, and during early warm up…No lie Marion hit 34 mid range jumpers in a row….I never disrespected his shooting form after that. I’m glad he got a ring in 2011
Al is one of my favorite ppl in the league. He could have played in any era
I have always loved Al Horford and his game even back in Florida, he's a great guy too and could have had a very different career trajectory had he not chose to evolve his game.
We gotta win a ring for Al before it's too late
Mission accomplished
Kenny Atkinson is the man. Dude is nothing but a player's coach
Honestly this story shows how important being in the right environment is for a player's development.
Sam Houser's shot is pure! Reminds me of Dirks. Malcom's is nice too.
Gotta respect some of them boys like Al Horford and Brook Lopez. Older fellas thriving and able to adapt to the new era of bball.
this was my first time realizing al horford was from the DR, heard the accent and was like wait lol
Well, if it ain't broke don't fix it 😅
Al's form reminds me of Ginobili's. Another unorthodox player all around, and good shooter, also when Al's guide hand still sits a little weirder on top.
I actually started out shooting like him, for years, and felt it greatly improves vision!
I did stop though because it put a weird strain and pain on my shoulder. Remodeled my shooting form only because of that, but am glad because people stopped telling me that it was wrong. I made my shots, but people wouldn't stop lecturing. If one shoots well, fast and without injuries in a weird way, let them do it their way :)
No
I played 2k against this man in a GameStop In atl back in 2009. Cool guy
Al Horford, Marc Gasol and Brook Lopez don’t get the credit enough for changing their games to stretch bigs to extend their careers
They act like shooting 3s is so difficult. It's all practice. If the players back in the 80's and 90's. Shot as much as today. The percentages would be the same. Be athletic doesn't make anyone a better shooter.
shout out jj for giving the rest of the league a chance by cursing derrick white and horford lmao
Prime example as to why there's no reason why every single nba player shouldn't shoot at least 30% from 3
I think you meant Al horford, not All horford 🤣
LMAO appreciate you
No, he actually was calling out all the Horfords
Al is a top 3 Horford of all time
Nah they had it right because Lebron gave him the extra L
@@joaoassumpcao3347 all Horfords? 😂
I always felt al horford can be placed on any team and become a valued asset
He was horrible for the sixers two years ago
Smartest thing Brad and the Celtics did was reacquire Al Horford. Horford gives the Celtics late career Tim Duncan energy. He doesn't dominate but he is efficient and makes things easier for his teammates.
I always wondered why people call the non- shooting hand the "guide' hand. It does not guide the ball anywhere! A better term for the off hand is the BALANCE hand.
I was boutta say, I've never heard him talk but I hear some Spanish in his voice. He's Dominican!!😮
I always felt the more naturally athletic you are the more u should work on your ground game
Al Horford shoot like he finna bust out the Kamehameha..
Fun fact- he taught KAT that on the DR Nat team.
Boy shoot like he tryna cuddle with Spalding 😂
Al's response to the guide hand question "yeh yeh..."😂
If the guys from the 80s, 90s or 2000’s were encouraged to rip it from 3 every chance they got they would have adapted and changed as well. Their practice routines would have changed, weight lifting, style of play, mindset etc.
so pretty much coach bud made the bucks lose last year
Tag Ben Simmons
pero antic put fear in the pacers in 2014 lol
his guide hand look like trying ya feels off when you finally get that hug lol
Al Horford is just as impactful as Draymond too all the teams he plays. Just no rings in the NBA. but he deserves his flowers too. He does whatever is needed to win.
al and brook lopez are two guys that had weird career paths. great players that left their prime and were just okay, goes to a different system and adjusts their play and they come back and play as an even better player. almost as if the regression with age never happened the years prior.
Atlanta AL !
Of course bigs have to stretch the floor now y’all be asking stupid questions 😂
And now, he's a Champ 🏆
Pero antic was one of my favorite bench players every. Guaranteed bucket
🇩🇴🇩🇴🇩🇴
Great content
AND IT GO'S SWISH , WHEN HE HITS THAT FIRST 1 YOU KNOW 3OR 4 IN A ROW ARE TO FOLLOW. IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME.
Gotta love JJ, an actual NBA player who goes on Basketball Reference. 😄
4:20
He jinxed Al
He's shooting like 15% from 3 in the playoffs
Damn you Reddick 😂
Nice to hear that Pero had some impact in the Hawks. Cheers.
I figured his father would’ve taught him? Didn’t he also play basketball? Professionally?
Jj could not have even made any 60s celtic team , scrub ....Michael Cooper said he wouldve locked u up, scrub
Its not how good the form looks, its the results that matter.... JJ is trying to make AL insecure about his form.... why? So he will start to miss? If JJ's form is so great why wasn't JJ the top scorer...
Steph Curry made it normal or better say he made it necessaty for everyone to shoot 3s. André Roberson like players can't play anymore.
I gotta keep it 💯... Those "master's" hats are not a good look JJ... I'm just saying
People love giving Lopez all the credit for adjusting, but never Horford
It almost feels like whenever a former Ben Simmons teammate stresses the importance of shooting for spacing that it is a shot.
I know it isn't a shot but it just makes you feel like they must have all been extremely frustrated.
When Embiid and Horford were on the floor with Ben, Embiid, and Horford had to be spacers for Ben to operate freely. Doesn't that just sound ridiculous?
I love hearing athletes who didnt have as much athleticism as they used to but managed to adapt their game to keep up with the young guns. who says you can't teach an old dogs new tricks? lol
Ben Simmons should be ashamed to be that damn sorry . Ben got into the nba & got comfortable he never worked on his game improved & got better
This point in example most ballers know shooting is majority just practice, most of it not talent
Pero Antic is a sick throwback ref
Al when he retires I hope spend time going to middle school and high schools around the inner cities speak to the youths he seen the type kids can connect with✊🏾🥃
The importance of the 3 point shot....if you went back to 2010 and asked me "who will have a longer career, Josh Smith or Al Horford" I would have probably said Josh Smith. Salute to Al
Fr. I remember Josh smith for 2 things. Being underrated as hell and having the most generic name of all time
@@Loveorlie He'll be more remembered as a blackhole on offense. That man just keeps jacking up 3s and can barely make them when he should be driving like Lebron 💀
Pau gasol shot a little bit like that, even though he didn’t shoot as many threes
