@@mats7492 you’re confusing tape and film. Film can be high quality even if recorded 100 years ago. Tape was usually very low quality but these are high quality nbc master tapes.

This is from 1997 and TV back then was still CRT and the max you could get was generally less than broadcast standard (720 X 480; hi-def was NOT a thing in the US although that they had hi-def broadcasts elsewhere). Hi-def wasn't the standard until the government mandated it. There are tells that this wasn't originally HD; the shadows and the way they skin looks TOO SMOOTH at times are clear indications of upscale. Upscaled live-action from tape generally doesn't look that good...
The irony is that the very next week after this interview, Pesci and De Niro showed up live on "the Joe Pesci Show" SNL skit. It's one of the greatest SNL skits of all time.
Saw him once doing stand up in Denver. He was sick as a dog, poor guy, but he still put on a funny ass show. Guy is hilarious and a true professional keeping his gigs even though he was ill.
Met this wonderful guy in Las Vegas airport waiting for a flight in 2008...so many celebs disappoint and are rude, he was extremely appreciative and gracious and I was so stoked that he was so hilarious in person. He really looks stoned lol that part was so funny to see about him.

Jim was a regular on SNL for years. Goat Boy was his big character, not one that translates to movies, so he never got a character movie off SNL. Starred in the weed movie Half-Baked w Dave Chappelle in the late 90s.

Jim Breuer was sadly known as a 2 trick pony. His pesci is the best in the business. But pesci has been retired as an actor for years and did Irishman and that's it. His goat boy is funny too, or his drunk guy/stoned character. But that's it. If you actually follow his early stand up career he's very funny. He got popular by having a guest spot with Dave chappelle on the show home improvement with Tim Allen. So much so that ppl would write to the networks they wanted to see more of these guys. We now know they cut Jim from the show and it was a failed show called "buddies" with a 19-20 year old Dave chappelle.
Jim is such a natural. Some people just have the gift of being able to make you laugh. And according to Jim his dad would have everyone in stitches at family gatherings.

Jim Breuer is a part of my wife's family. Had the pleasure of meeting him years ago and he told me about how he couldn't see the cue cards because of the dark contact lenses so he ad libbed the Pesci lines in the SNL skit.
