Whaaaaaaaaat?? I went to THREE different fashion and costume schools and never learned any of this! We stuck with the basic above and below bust darts and then practiced manipulating them. When I gained weight and my bust increased I couldn't make the blocks work no matter what -- these lines would have solved everything! Thank you so much for explaining so clearly and for giving examples as to how the darts work for different styles 🤩
I learned this in fashion school(94’) but I’m confused why she applying 4 & 5 in top that aren’t midriff designs. Check out books by Connie Amaden-Crawford and Helen Joseph Armstrong.
Very complete, detailed and well explained, as usual. And even if I'm not familiar with pattern making you manage to make it interesting thanks to your voice and the music: I never get tired of watching your tutorials. Bravo my Love. I'm so proud of you.
Thanks alot for this tutorial. Please can the bust radius work for all cup sizes within a certain bust measurement.A person can be bust 38F whereas another can be 38B.Can they both use 3.25 inches?
Could you please highlight all the contour you applied from the halter , the V-neckline , and the scoop to show how one would go about cutting out the patterns the right way.❤️🥺 This video was so helpful. I was struggling so much with contouring.😊
Thank you for this tutorial. I have two questions. 1: what happens to the center front grainline when you make guideline n.7? And 2: in the last sweetheart bustier top the center front also looks not straight with contour line n.6
For the guideline no.7 you just have to simply follow the new center front and redraw the grainline indication. For your second question which sweetheart are you talking about? Is it the separate tutorial outside from this one? And can you put the timestamp so that it’s clear on my end.
Namaste mam... I am from India. I have always problem when I draw for back deep neck pattern. Mam please upload how to take body measurements perfectly and one video especially for deep neck pattern.... Thank you so much....
Thank you so much , can i use same guidelines measurement for every measurement size (size6 to 24) , or these guidelines measurement can be subject to change based on the bodice I am working on ???
Yes you can, but also don’t forget to check your pattern or mock-up on your dress form to determine the right or correct fit. You can add up 1/8 inch to each contour and again check on your dress form. Hope this helps
Quick question; would the widest parts of the contours not be at the bust circumference line/circle instead of the adjusted edges? What determines which you use?
@@LAMODÉLISTE Sorry, I mean for example on the first contour line from the neckline you mark the 2/8" contour on the bust circumference intersection, but later in the examples, it seems like you mark it on the new dropped neckline instead? Do you contour the same amount no matter how low the neckline is? And when do you use the bust circumference on the neck contour line etc. then?
When you create a basic bodice, allowances are made. Sometimes plus 1 inch or more. And it’s best always to check your basic bodice on a Dressform to determine
Bonjour, J'aurais beaucoup aimé regarder et appliquer mais je ne suis pas assez à l'aise en anglais et la traduction automatique ne fonctionne pas. Auriez vous un site en français ?

Thank you so much! ❤❤❤

On Centre front contour line can you use more than 1/8 inch? Then I’m assuming this new line is your new grain line?

Yes it does help , Thank you so much

Do you take the excess on your new neckline or it is on the bust radius circle you take the excess as seen in your contour guidelines
Which of the contour guidelines are you talking about? Can you put a timestamp? So that it is clear on my end.
Quick question; would the widest parts of the contours not be at the bust circumference line/circle instead of the adjusted edges? What determines which you use?
??? Hi I’m sorry honestly I really don’t understand this question
