To ballet experts who criticizing her dance please calm down. First, this movie is targeting a general audience not specialists. Second, as a doctor myself, I see a lot of bullshit medical practices in movies but I don’t attack actors performance because it is impossible to be a doctor in a few months. You know it needs at least seven years to become an M.D.
It made me want to go to Russia and start watching the St Petersburg Ballet Theatre's Swan Lake. Yes, it might not be an accurate depiction but aren't most movies stereotypes? I am Australian and Crocodile Dundi wasn't correct. We don't throw around boomerangs and carry 'knives' around and fight ox's. Still love the film though.
Gigi Parker After a trip to Russia, do you still have money for treatment after the attack of Russian hooligans? And how did you survive the KGB recruit you into spies? Are you already an alcoholic, or do you drink only one bottle of vodka per day?
A scene like the one in the airport, is every single person there an extra? Or are there some moments (even in other scenes) where some of the background people are actually civilians?
I think they are all extras, because if they were civilians some people would keep staring at the actors or into the cameras, besides they need people to be absolutely silent so you can hear the actors (background noise is added later). I think that with a a budget as high as those movies have, they could probably pay to "rent" a closed space in an airport for a few hours
the director says that the film is not about politics ... however Matthias Schoenaerts is the actor most similar in appearance to Vladimir Putin ... he has long known his resemblance to the Russian president so it is not a surprise or coincidence that they choose it ....... is paradox ... hypocrisy or marketing..??
Why do people feel the great need leave a comment? Who cares what your opinion is anyway?!? Watch the clip and if you don't like it, then don't watch the film, or forget about watching the clip. Why do everyone thinks their opinion is so freaking important??
Ekaterina Morrissey why do people get so upset about comments? The section is here so people can leave their opinions. Take your own advice and if you don’t like it, don’t read them! -just a suggestion 🤷🏼♀️
The guy does a grand jete jump and lands on the back of her right leg. On the ground her left leg is broken. I couldn't watch any more of the movie after this.
David Sukonick Then how about you properly watch the scene genius, after the first arabesque with her RIGHT leg she landed on a tendu derrière with her LEFT leg, leg the guy landed on after the grand jete Conclusion: left leg broken
She only trained for 3 months and 4 hours a day. Wtf that’s short as hell. I wish I could dance for that SHORT. they should have gotten an actual profession ballerina but no they had to pick her.
Actually Polunin said in an interview it was quite easy to lift her because she was light..maybe she looks heavier because she doesnt have ballerina like muscles
Алина Алгебраистова wow, she may not be as light as a ballerina but at least she’s not as big of a bitch as you. What an unnecessary rude thing to comment on.

I'm so glad Sergei is in movies now!
I absolutely loved this movie; I dont understand why the critics were so harsh.
Gigi Parker because the whole film is an absolute lie and a set of stupid cliches about Russia.

Just excellent directing and nothing else!
You can see her focus while taking instructions from the choreographer to the director
movie about Russia.... without russians .....polunin is ukraine not russian...the rest are American actors .... this is a paradox
That is Hollywood baby
Its a movie
Matthias Schoenaerts is Belgian, Joel Edgerton is Australian
Может это потому что русским стыдно сниматься в таком фильме наполненным бредом даже за деньги?
antonio gutierrez not really, it’s called acting dumbass
Does anyone has any clue on what is the name of the ballet play? Love the costume and, the movie
Tania Anjani it’s called Firebird
the director says that the film is not about politics ... however Matthias Schoenaerts is the actor most similar in appearance to Vladimir Putin ... he has long known his resemblance to the Russian president so it is not a surprise or coincidence that they choose it ....... is paradox ... hypocrisy or marketing..??
antonio gutierrez I also noticed it!
wait so she was actually dancing not a real ballerina and got her face CGI like Black swan...and she didn't get an oscar for her dancing..wow
Natalie Portman danced on black swan.

I liked this movie and it got such bad reviews
Is Jennifer Lawrence a ballet dancer

De jó magyarokat hallani benne:D
Fuck is that sergei polunin?! Kill me now i need to see this now
okay but does anyone know the guy in the thumbnail?
The guy does a grand jete jump and lands on the back of her right leg. On the ground her left leg is broken. I couldn't watch any more of the movie after this.
David Sukonick sounds like your problem. It’s a movie not a documentary.

Conclusion: left leg broken
Her arms are so stiff in the beginning...
oh gosh that dancing is hideous
mjm212
That's normal she doesn't know how to dance ballet
mjm212 then show how its done, will u.
She is an actress not a ballerina get your facts straight before hating
Mrs.Grant this is a behind the scenes. They CGI with Isabella for the movie
Morgane Gaia I would get that her feet and ankles aren’t strong enough, but she should be able to make her upper half seem more gentle.
She only trained for 3 months and 4 hours a day. Wtf that’s short as hell. I wish I could dance for that SHORT. they should have gotten an actual profession ballerina but no they had to pick her.
She had a dance double.
I think the fact that a REAL ballerina not being able to act, you know cause she’s not an actress would probably be an obstacle😂
Atrocious movie
Polunin must have been very amused at JLaw as a ballerina. No male ballet dancer would be able to lift her.
Алина Алгебраистова 😂😂😂👌
Actually Polunin said in an interview it was quite easy to lift her because she was light..maybe she looks heavier because she doesnt have ballerina like muscles
송윤수 maybe, it Just shows his good character and kindness. Plus he didn't lift her in a way that is the True ballet
Алина Алгебраистова wow, she may not be as light as a ballerina but at least she’s not as big of a bitch as you. What an unnecessary rude thing to comment on.
