Loudness was one of the Japanese metal bands that made it big in the west at that time, their guitarist Akira Takasaki was one of the guitar heros of that time, the guy's shredding is umbelivable.

Nice one, this takes me back. Loudness are a great band. An old favourite song of theirs for me was 'Heavy Chains'.

LOUDNESS was a favorite in the '80s (Now I am a 70 and LOVEBITES Wolf-Pack dedicated!)
LOUDNESS is STILL performing! They lost drummer Munetaka Higuchi in 2008, but recruited Masayuki Suzuki.
Bassist Masayoshi Yamashita wrote the song, "Black Wall" that really pulled me in and changed my perception of music, permanently with the intro to that, LIVE from "Live, Loud, Alive" from '83. Not on u2b, but this is close: ruclips.net/video/9J61V2AP-7g/видео.html (skips what is actually a great, but short version of another song)

Loudness was a huge influence for me as well, since I just started listening to metal when I discovered them back in 1984. Disillusion came out that year and is one of my favorite albums to this day, but The Law of the Devil's Land is a close second in their catalog.
