Awesome glaze, thanks heaps. A tip for us Aussies - I used Ribena blackcurrant cordial instead of red cordial/betroot. Fantastic colouring and it's not super-artificial.
Did a version of this glaze over Easter on my first ribs. Turned out real good. Only changes I made where rum instead of bourbon and a home made apple and raspberry jam.
Couldn't find the exact ingredients you list here, but used Plum Butter vs. Jam and a 4 berry preserves vs. beetroot powder ... also Wild Turkey 101. So simple, but so good. Thanks for the recipe! Great stuff!
I’ll definitely try this sauce for my St. Louis cut ribs, although I like hot sauce, I can dab it in it when I’m munching away. Will be a hit for my family this sauce 👍
Mate! First time ever slow cooking anything on the kettle, I did your recipe for the low and slow ribs, bang on! Awesome! Thanks for the straight forward vids, bring on the Brisket!! Cheers from NZ
Yeah man. Good stuff. Gotta love some sweet bourbon in a rib or wing glaze. For those not wanting to purchase expensive bottles of bourbon for this task, a botlle of Wild Turkey American Honey and Cola works wonders too. Do it like this or in bbq sauce with a squirt of chili. cheers.
Hey mate, it's hard to put a time on it. But I'd say 5 hours. Follow the same method but spritz more often. Take until probe tender around the 205f mark.
@@LownSlowBasics Oo cool and thanks for the quick reply! Sounded like you said teaspoon in the video. Anyway I just made it and it tastes really good. Used red food colouring instead of beetroot powered as couldn’t get that and thought the cordial would sweeten it up a bit much.

How good is that! Thanks so much for letting us know. I may have been guilty drinking it too 😜
Excellent glaze! Used it with raspberry jam and raspberry Raro (cordial mix) and it was incredible. Highly recommended

I am living in Ireland. Wish we had that complaint. We have to wait for the weather to warm up and stop raining to try this.😢

Is the beetroot powder just for color? Seems that way, wondering if flavor will be the same if I just omit it.
Gonna have to try this next time I do ribs. Maybe even a ham
Definitely mate!
How good is that little cast iron sauce pan!
Looks amazing again Aaron

Hey mate love the vids. Are you able to put the recipes/ingredients in the bio? Easier to read over rewinding/ pausing. Cheers!
Can do mate, I'll do it when I get a chance :)
Hey mate, with your beef short ribs you had 4 ribs and cooked them for 7 hours. How long for single short ribs ?
Hey mate, it's hard to put a time on it. But I'd say 5 hours. Follow the same method but spritz more often. Take until probe tender around the 205f mark.
What happens if you dont like butter ?
I didn’t get the red colour with the red cordial
As long as the flavour is there that's the main thing.
How do I get fall off the bone tender and juicy??
Check the pork rib video out in the description :)
That looked like a big tablespoon of that jam?
Correct

Strange.. That my shugad did not get to gether with butter... So it was imposible to get it done
That is very strange, sorry to hear.
Where do you get the beetroot powder from??
I got mine from this site... www.aussiespices.com/
@@LownSlowBasics thanks mate! 👍
what is battery powder?
Beetroot powder :)
@@LownSlowBasics thanks, if I can find it in Florida... this is my next try on ribs
You can beat an egg but you can’t beet a root 👍
@@chisel83 🤣🤣🤣
@@LownSlowBasics Anyone cheaper than chemist warehouse for the powder?
Are you Australian?
Yes
I didn't have red cordial or beetroot powder so I used 1tps of strawberry Aeroplane Jelly 😂 worked well 😋
