    Thanks for the video! Very good explanation of fixing the backlash issue. This caught my interest because I was running a payload of about 9 pounds on my SA. ASIAir guiding setup failed - complaining about backlash - I'm hoping that your solution will fix this issue and guiding setup will succeed allowing me to run my payload.

    I want to tell you thanks from Canada. We finally got clear skies here and this year my star tracker was not working. I was debating buying a goto mount rather than buy same model until I came across your video. Taking off the bottom and pushing it forward did the trick.

      Sorry, never had this problem. But should not be too hard to inspect it and disassembly it (eventually)

    How much tight should the clutch be ? What i observe that even after tightening the clutch it moves when little pressure is applied.

      then , most likely, you have backlash from loose meshing between ring gear and worm gear. you can remove this play with the small hex screw at the bottom of the unit

    Hi All, recently bought this one new, and I have S and N lights blinking RED, via the app I tried to move it manually, I can hear the motor sound but it doesn't rotate. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    • @andreaminoia2002
      @andreaminoia2002  3 года назад

      Hi. I don't have the version with wifi so I don't know if it is normal for the led to blink when the app is connected. They usually blink when guiding and corrections are sent to the mount or if there is a problem with the motor, like a stall. But if the motor stalls you will not hear it turning. Is a long shot, but have you locked the RA clutch? (Big black ring). Also, have you tried moving it at 12x speed to really see if thins move? Normally the movement is very slow

      @@andreaminoia2002 Thank you, sir. I had to open and put the motor to its original place as it was adjusted too hard. it moves now. Thanks for the awesome video.

    Hi, I know this is late but will WD-40 work to regrease it?

    • @andreaminoia2002
      @andreaminoia2002  3 года назад

      Hi. No. You need real, good quality, grease. Wd40 is too volatile for the job

    • @alphanimal
      @alphanimal 2 года назад +1

      indeed WD-40 is for degresing/cleaning. It's basically the opposite of grease :)

      It is just psychological fear :) is very simple and for the backlash is as complicate as opening the battery bay.. only you have 4 bolts to remove. Just do it the first time when you are not in a hurry, so there is no stress.
