When they said Tom had chemistry with literally everyone in the cast that he had scenes with (save for few) I cannot agree any more! I felt this as well like he has so much chemistry and it does not even have to be sexual even platonic chemistry wise some scenes were wild ..
That is why so many people are attracted to him!

On behalf of all fan-fic authors, I apologize for those of us who are toxic.
I interpreted the Dream and Desire scene tension as being between what Dream was doing, and the audience. I mean that we the audience were attracted to the display of power and aggression, but in scene obviously there was nothing because Dream and Desire are siblings. So the tension is between us and the action because WE are attracted to the dynamic. It's fan service.

@@farrel_ra I think the best thing about the show is that change just enough to leave some surprises while still telling essentially the same story. I have read the books many times over the years and I'm still anticipating season 2 more than any other show from this year.

Something I learned recently is that for press conferences and media appearances like this, actors are often required to wear outfits that mirror what the characters they're promoting would typically wear. That's why you're seeing Kirby in black with her Ankh and Mason in a bustier with pearls, and even Tom wears a lot of boxy black clothes like Dream.

Mason and Kirby are so intelligent, articulate and good-looking I am not coping.
I think that everyone will just ship Dream with themselves, because DAMN, Tom Sturridge's stage presence was wild. But misinterpreting his radiant energy as chemistry still seems inaccurate.
Honestly, my bisexual heart got taken on quite the ride with this show. Dream with his cosmic radiance, Death with her neverending compassion, Desire with their unapologetic confidence, Constantine with her destiny-defying sass, the Corinthian with his smooth-talking charm, Hob Gadling radiating DILF energy, and even Lucifer with their well spoken fiendishness (even though the last few might be a bit old for me) I'd happily meet up with anyone from the diner (bar Marv, maybe... and Dee of course) and Dolly's not the only smoke show in the doll's house. Basically, they just have an incredible cast with unique characters that just leave you wanting more.

I feel like I’m gonna get flak for this, but Morpheus one of those characters that I almost can’t bring myself to ship with anyone. Which is bizarre because he’s insanely cool, charismatic, and handsome, and is normally the type of character I’d ship as much as possible. I don’t know why but I almost can’t buy him being romantically or physically attracted to anyone, save *maybe* Calliope. Does anyone else get this vibe from him, or is it just me?
And yes. I know it was explicitly stated in the show that he was in love in the past, thus rendering my argument invalid. This is just my stupid two cents.

I'm kinda with you. But for me that's all of the Endless save Desire with some flings here and there. I can't really imagine these larger than life characters in any kind of relationship.
I mean, I do like the idea of Dream and Hob for example just bc I love the trope and way it played out, especially in the show now, so I ship it very much on the surface but refuse to think about it deeper than that bc I just can't imagine Dream actually being with anyone
@@guineveremeadows2122 Yeah I can agree with that. If I was forced to put a label on Morpheus, given everything I’ve seen in the Season 1, I’d have to say demisexual probably fits him the best. Aro/Ace works, too, but that’s more my headcanon than actual canon.
The only characters I can *maybe* see him being genuinely romantically and/or sexually attracted to are people he’s explicitly stated to have been with before….so for now, literally just two people. Not to say he doesn’t have insane chemistry with everyone-it’s just not *that* type of chemistry I see. Like, I think about all the other possible ships people could put him in and almost none of them feel right to me. Lucienne will always be his loyal librarian, at times his confidant or someone to talk to, and their relationship is simply a respectful and professional one. I honestly didn’t feel any connection between him and Constantine-he just needed her to get his sand back and that was it. Hob is probably the closest I can get to shipping him outside of what’s canon, but even then I ship them WAY more as best friends than lovers.

So I can’t even lie but Morpheus has aro ace vibes to the max, I completely agree with you on that one. Even his relationship with calliope was very strange, like it was obligatory for the times. Idk plus homie’s just got kind of an ego where he needs to remind everyone that he is the dream lord. For majority of the show he’s regularly demonstrating his ability to overpower others, so that he can take care of his shit (which is why everyone thinks it’s sexual???). Which in that case more power to him. Ego+bruting emotions+immortality+generally being trapped for a century= socially unaware aroace king with trust issues.
i'm so glad you say that because that's exactly how i feel - he just has this unobtainable, ethereal nature to him which makes it hard to fathom that he could ever be truly intimate with anyone (after all, he is the 'king of dreams'). not to mention the fact that i identify as aroace and am therefore pretty much always (shamelessly) headcanoning my favs as aspec ahah

How could they not be, even my partner who never ships characters was actually blushing at the way Gadling interacted with Dream. Every interaction was Hobs attempt at getting Dreams' affection and attention, platonic or otherwise. Every character, to me, seemed torn between their usual self and the magnetic way Dream pulled them in. Such a great cast.

I loved both of their characters soooooo much. That makeup and styling was so on point and dripping with beauty and sexuality. SO FUKING cool!…I actually felt so much different about Death because of this graphic novel and even more so with this series. A+++. Mason Alex Park, that blonde short cut with that rich blood red lipstick was sooooo perfectly evil. that cunning SMIZE you have in these scenes were so gorgeous. I couldn’t stop looking at ya. I wanted MOARRRR! LOVED IT ALL

That song was the first time I heard death portrayed as a calm, natural, and necessary part of life. The lyrics “ Seasons don’t fear the reaper, nor do the wind, the sun or the rain” always stuck with me. I’m think of getting that phrase tattooed.

Constantine could have chemistry with everyone because they are flirtatious. There were definitely scenes where Johannas actor played up that chemistry with Dream and the glances at Morpheus' lips..... wow.

There's a very cute Marvel/DC crossover with Neil Gaiman's version of Death (or at least a hint at her) in Incredible Hulk #418: The wedding of Rick Jones and Marlo Chandler
(Rick Jones has a long and storied comics career starting with the Hulk and passing through many iterations of many characters, and Marlo Chandler, after dating Joe Fixit (an aspect/personality of Bruce Banner who looked like a smaller, grey Hulk and acted like a particularly clever thug) was rendered comatose in an attack and revived by the (later revealed) intervention of the Marvel version of Death (who, like Gaiman's Death, is a conceptual entity)
At the wedding, a pale goth girl wearing an ankh necklace appears to Marlo and Rick and gives them a wedding gift and a bit of salient advice, and then says she has to leave "before that creep Thanos shows up" (Thanos in the comics being extremely enamored of, and constantly attempting to court, Death). When they open the gift, it's a beautiful silver hairbrush. So, it's Marlo's brush *from* Death.
