Apollo's prime is not in Rocky II, but before even Rocky I. In Rocky II he's very sharp and in excellent shape, but he was defeated in 2 aspects: (1) he was older (Rocky mentions that in Creed, that it was time that won against Apollo) and (2) he was so obsessed with KO'ing Rocky that he actually let a sure win (he was far in front in the score cards) become a sour loss. This channel is great. I love the Rocky characters. I'd like to see you include some of the boxers from the Creed series. Specifically I think it would be cool to see Victor Drago versus his father, Victor Drago versus Clubber Lang, and maybe Rocky versus Victor Drago. Also maybe Apollo Creed versus his son. All fighters of course in their prime, with time period differences ignored.
The issue with Ivan vs basic anyone is due to the writers not understanding how stuff actually works. Ivan Drago is quite literally superhuman and his punches are enough to quite literally pop a humans head like a grape.
I believe that Apollo would not underestimate a fighter like Clubber. Apollo has a mixture of great boxing ability, granite chin & the ability to adjust. Clubber’s power & hunger makes him a nightmare for someone like Apollo, that said Apollo would box, control the distance taking Clubber into deep water in the later rounds & ko Clubber by the 12th round. Apollo for the win, but not a cakewalk in any way one mistake & it could easily go the other way.
I agree, particularly because the set up in the beginning of the video says that it was Apollo from Rocky II. Apollo would have learned his lesson from Rocky I where he did not take Rocky seriously and even though he won the fight he was seriously hurt and taken all the way. There is no way that he would repeat that mistake with Clubber Lang.
This is great fun and thank you. I’d argue tho that Apollo’s prime was prior to Rocky II. Rocky said in the film Apollo that he (Apollo) was the best he fought but that time had caught up on his speed and overall performance. Again, great fun and thanks!!
Creed by late ko. As Muhammad Ali would say, "float like a butterfly, sting like a bee, his hands can't hit, what his eyes can't see." R.I. P. Carl Weathers.
It would be something akin to a Rhino vs a Cheetah. A rhino certainly is powerful, and terrifying to watch when it charges, but the Cheetah is much faster and far more agile.
Clubber would win and here's why Rocky was able to win because he fought like creed but still had his own superhuman endurance and will, which creed did not have.
The fault of this setup is that Apollo is given character development that Clubber is never granted. This is the challenge in ranking any boxer in the Rocky franchise. Those who are granted character development are given a leg up due to having improvement over those not given this. It's like taking a snapshot of a boxer at one point and then pitting them against a similar classed opponent who is given full development. Apollo, as mentioned, is given the chance to grow in Rocky II, and is able to share this same lesson in Rocky III when he trains Rocky. We see a similar setup in the latest Creek movie where Creed is pushed not on speed and endurance, but on raw strength. If Clubber is granted character development, it is unknown if he could learn the skills of speed and endurance to match his brute force.
True And tyson was very strong for his size And he is faster than lighter weight boxers Mike Tyson has the same ring IQ As Ali.... Plus tyson also knows Ali's boxing 🥊 style Most American boxers know More than one style philly shell style Peekaboo style Ali's style
Apollo Creed would outbox him and win on points. Y'all saw how frustrated Clubber Lang was at Rocky's primitive version of the rope-a-dope. Apollo got this.
I disagree that it's as simple as "Apollo's style stops Clubber and Clubber has zero stamina so Apollo wins". We're ignoring southpaws are Apollo's kryptonite and Clubber is a dirty fighter. Tbh people kinda take Clubber's stamina to an extreme. He can keep fighting. Apollo's team determined Rocky had to stop Lang early because they knew he would've been the one slipping away after iirc round 7. That's because to tire someone out you need to hurt them. Rocky was mixing his power with Apollo's finesse to frustrate Lang and still almost lost. The moment Clubber cornered him he was a hair from getting KO'd. Not only will Apollo need more shots to do it, he's even more vulnerable to his power. I feel it really depends if Apollo can handle Clubber's shots, because I don't see him dodging through the whole match. Rocky was almost as quick, hit harder, and was more durable, yet Clubber nearly KO'd him, anyway. I don't think Apollo has this tbh. I see Clubber eventually rushing Apollo into a corner through his punches like he did to Rocky except he'll devastate his ribs, especially considering his tendency to underestimate his opponents. I have Clubber breaking him mid-rounds
Apollo's weaknesses: punches are not strong enough AND can't take as much punishment. Clubber's weaknesses: lack of style and finesse in punching AND gets tired too easily. Lack of stamina. Several clean punches from Clubber would send Apollo into trouble. Clubber is almost as strong as Drago. I say Clubber wins.
Your saying that because of Drago who was younger and on steroids. Come on. He was out boxing 🥊 Drago at times but Drago was too strong and young for him.
For Me What Should Have Happened In Rocky 3 Was After Clubber Lang Beat Rocky, Clubber Lang Should Have Fought Apollo Creed and After Clubber Would Beat Apollo? Then Rocky Would Come Back and Fight Clubber Again Beating Him at The End, This Would Have Made Rocky 3 Even More Epic!
The thing is applo is regarded as the best fighter in the Rocky era. Apollo lost in 4 not because the Russian was better it was because applo was old. He's older than Rocky. Hell he lost to Rocky because of age
This depends on whether it was Apollo in his prime, which was a time before he fought Rocky or the Apollo that fought Rocky and then retired. Clubber put enough fear into Mickey to the point that he coerced Rocky into retiring until Clubber showed up at the unveiling of his statue, and Apollo’s manager protected Apollo at first by not wanting for him to fight Rocky because Rocky is a southpaw and then later on he tried to talk him out of a rematch against Rocky. But Apollo could go the distance, and he showed Rocky how to defeat Clubber. Therefore, one would have to think Apollo would have disposed of Clubber quite easily.
I know my opinion is not going to be a popular one, but I'm going go with Clubber Lang. I know that Apollo trained Rocky to beat Clubber, but you have to remember that Apollo can't take those vicious punches like Rocky can. The punches that Clubber threw and hit Rocky would floor Apollo. I think Apollo would get cocky and Clubber would take advantage of that and drop him during the fight.
That movie was delusional and made no sense smh. How could rocky defeat a young boxer on drugs and high tech boxing gym training and strength monitoring and sparring partners and rocky is just training in a cabin with no gym or mitt work and course not on steroids smh.

Apollo Creed is the movie avatar of 'Mohammed Ali.' Clubber Lang, on the other hand, is the movie avatar of some unnamed boxer similar to Mike Tyson. This was back before Tyson came up on the scene, though, but I think that last comparison is also a good one.
Really enjoying these videos. 2 things- 1- I agree Clubber would lose for what you mentioned, but also when he throws a hook ( which seems like his go to punch) He winds up to throw it leaving Apollo ample time dodge and counter. The other, I always thought Apollo's prime was actually in the 60s to early 70s ( before the events of the first Rocky movie. I base this on Ali's prime which Apollo is of course based on. I feel Rocky 2 would have been Apollo's last stand as champ.
You say Apollo in his prime beats Clubber Lang. I agree but here's the thing, in Rocky 2 Apollo wasn't in his complete prime. It's mentioned in the first movie it had been a long while since he fought someone. He staged the fight with Rocky as an exhibition match. He wasn't expecting much out of Rocky. Apollo was called the master of disaster. He was known for destroying opponents with great skill, power, and athleticism. If Apollo from Rocky 2 could beat Clubber Lang, imagine what he could do in his true prime? Great video! I enjoyed it.

@@caspergohard4487 I would say Lang's character was Joe Frazier with the hooks. Drago was Foreman's character with his freakish power punching and instead of going to Africa to fight Foreman he went to Russia to fight Drago.
Awesome video, Apollo was my favorite character in the Rocky movies. I subscribed 🔥
Thank you sir!
they were both amazing.
That's a great pic of Clubber.
He was violent intensity.
Betting on Lang for this 1 mane 🔥 💪🏾 pure beast
I love alll The Rocky movies,Rocky 4 was my favorite, and The Creed movies are totally awesome ! 😎👍
Can you do Drago vs Lang !
That wouldn't even be a fair fight. Rocky had to basically become a superhero. Lang doesn't stand a chance.
@@MasterFhylexactly lang gets destroyed 😂
Clubber vs Drago Here you go 👉 ruclips.net/video/8AfGCRT1JdU/видео.htmlsi=BfCCq22k3HpVNEdM
Cool concept! Nicely done.
I would love to see a video on Clubber Lang versus Ivan Drago 🥊
I second this ^
Oh yeah! That would be a fun matchup! I'll get to work on it.
Drago
I believe Drago would win.
But, it’s obvious who would win 🤨
Very cool concept!👍🏽
"Burn Notice" Michael Weston vs "The punisher" Frank Castle please 😁
I second this. This would be incredible!
A.I. is getting better everyday. This was was nearly perfect.
Creed by late ko. As Muhammad Ali would say,
"float like a butterfly,
sting like a bee,
his hands can't hit,
what his eyes can't see."
R.I. P. Carl Weathers.
The role fit Mr. T perfectly since he won Toughman contests and that style made him a great antagonist as Clubber Lang.
Clubbed wouldn't have stood up to Apollo in part 2, because he didn't have what Rocky did then either.
Lang deserved a 3rd fight
He did. He also deserves a creed movie role
for over 40 years, apollo creed has been my favorite character in the rocky franchise 🇺🇸
Union Kane v spider Ricco
‘Spider Ricco? He’s a bum…’
This video shows how important sound effects are in a movie haha, the effects really sell those punches
Hahahahaha!
Even in the art work of both of them in the ring, Mr. T. STILL has gold chains around his neck!
I saw that too!
Apollo Wins in a Trilogy, it's basically Ali vs Tyson, great video
True
And tyson was very strong for his size
And he is faster than lighter weight boxers
Mike Tyson has the same ring IQ
As Ali....
Plus tyson also knows Ali's boxing 🥊 style
Most American boxers know
More than one style
philly shell style
Peekaboo style
Ali's style
There needs to be a movie all about Apollo and how he and Clubber first interacted
Team Clubber🥊
How about drago vs clubber lang? Now is even more fascinating!
Tong Po Vs. Ivan Drago
Far more epic than anticipated!
Mr. T actually fought in contests and was tough.
Ah, Rocky III. I wish Rocky, when he barged into Mickey's room, had asked: "Yo, Mick! Why's your room pink?"
Shredder vs Blade
Apollo ATW no doubts 💯%
clubber lang would win we seem what happen to creed with the russian🤭😂😂😂
I love rocky 3 so much. Clubber was such a great villain. Apollo training rocky is iconic.
😂
Your saying that because of Drago who was younger and on steroids. Come on. He was out boxing 🥊 Drago at times but Drago was too strong and young for him.
No weaknesses. Beat and dropped everyone he fought professionally.
Apollo broke Rocky’s nose in less than 3 minutes and survived 15 rounds of punishment
Rocky also said Apollo was the best fighter in the series
I think it would've went pretty similarly to the Foreman v Ali fight. Rope-a-dope FTW!
Apollo knew he couldn't beat clubber.
For Creed v Lang read Ali v Tyson. Easy meat for a masterful boxer against a dangerous but one dimensional fighter
*Clubber wins*- younger and more vicious.
Merry Christmas 2024 everyone:)
The thing is applo is regarded as the best fighter in the Rocky era. Apollo lost in 4 not because the Russian was better it was because applo was old. He's older than Rocky. Hell he lost to Rocky because of age
This would be a cool video game with all the Rocky Characters 🤔
Between this roster and the Creed characters, yep.
There is a Rocky video game for the PS2. I had it. It was good but could have been way better
@@D1Snr I know! I bought it many years ago. You can even fight with the Rocky statue!
It will literally be like Ali Vs Foreman or Ali Vs Sonny Liston, watch them fights to see the result of this hypothetical match-up
This depends on whether it was Apollo in his prime, which was a time before he fought Rocky or the Apollo that fought Rocky and then retired.
Lang wins with the power of the Mohawk
🤣
I know my opinion is not going to be a popular one, but I'm going go with Clubber Lang. I know that Apollo trained Rocky to beat Clubber, but you have to remember that Apollo can't take those vicious punches like Rocky can. The punches that Clubber threw and hit Rocky would floor Apollo. I think Apollo would get cocky and Clubber would take advantage of that and drop him during the fight.
Remember Lang can't take the punches Rocky can either. Apollo put a serious beating on Rocky. Apollo drops Creed early and puts him away.
I always wondered, could Rocky have beaten Ivan Drago if he didn't have Apollo's death to help motivate him?
no, even with the determination he had he suffered catastrophic brain damage.
That movie was delusional and made no sense smh. How could rocky defeat a young boxer on drugs and high tech boxing gym training and strength monitoring and sparring partners and rocky is just training in a cabin with no gym or mitt work and course not on steroids smh.
@@woodyboy6493 With an incredible height, reach and weight advantage, but is what the movie was about, overcoming near inconquerable odds, no matter how ridiculous it really was
@@Sikorsky1111 ok then why didn't Rocky win against Dixon in Rocky Balboa lol. What's even bogus is how could Rocky defeat Tommy gunn lol
@@woodyboy6493 I havent watched anything after Rocky IV
“Clubber what’s your prediction for this fight?”
“PAAAIIIN”
Longer the fight went, the more necklaces Clubber put on. Must have had a trainer, a cut man, and a jeweler in his corner
Apollo easy and he’d smoke drago without steroids
Prime Apollo was before facing Rocky... he cleaned division several times and gave unkown challanger a shot..... i think prime Apollo before Rocky fights destroys any version of Drago....like Rocky said Apollo was the best..time beat him.. time beats everybody
Prime Apollo Creed absolutely leathers Clubber Lang and it wouldn't be remotely close.
Rocky's poor and slow imitation of Apollo was enough to absolutely bewilder Lang.
I think it could possibly turn out like the “No mas” fight, but Clubber always stands a chance with his one-punch power. Fun to speculate about.
"Oh, Apollo? The perfect fighter. Noone better"
could you do Unicron, Transformers, vs The Deathstar, Star Wars?
Apollo Creed is the movie avatar of 'Mohammed Ali.' Clubber Lang, on the other hand, is the movie avatar of some unnamed boxer similar to Mike Tyson. This was back before Tyson came up on the scene, though, but I think that last comparison is also a good one.
I wish there would have been a way to bring back Mr T for some of the later Rocky/Creed adaptations.
One of the best protagonists portrayed on film.
WHEN THE RIVALS CAME TOGETHER!!!....BEST ROCKY MOVIE! And Adrian's PEP TALK! Shit makes me Tear up a little EVERY TIME I hear it.
Me too!!!!!!!! Especially when she says "I live with a fighter"
This is exactly how I see the fight going down as well
Clubber was such great character.
