  • A bit of an unexpected job not long after doing the cam cover gaskets, timing belt and the oil cooler. The radiator drain plug head snapped off when I was tightening it back up on the previous job, but it seemed to be holding water, but not for long.
It started leaking but not seriously. I did however decide on the balance of probabilites that a coolant leak from a broken 20 + Year old radiator wasn't going to get any better, so it was time for another "knuckle skinning" job with the Omega!
I ordered up a new radiator and while in I was in there I decided to change the air-con condensor as it was looking decidely tatty as well. I think I did mention in one of the first videos I was going to do the thermostat but decided against that as I think it is working relatively ok, plus I do not fancy stripping out all the gubbins on the VEE again plus taking off the "Bastard" bolt and transfer pipe to the stat. I still remember doing this on my 2.6 and it was not a pleasant job...at all!
