Hansi flick could only do so much with the time he had. They don't even have a proper defense, and like the video says "lack of quality" was the #1 reason Germany did so bad. They need a decent striker and at least a decent defense to survive euros and the next world cup.

The VAR decision helped Japan, but when you're having to depend on VAR, there is a problem and this problem started after the 2014 WC. I think Jurgen Klinsmann new system that he created before the 2006 WC kicked in at full speed by then and it paid off. However, the other soccer powers have adapted to it and now can't be beaten by die Mannschaft as easily as they once were. Another thing I have noticed with this team is that ever since Miroslav Klose retired, they haven't been able to produce or find another striker like him. He made all the difference up front. Germany can still build a powerful attack but without Klose, scoring is difficult for them now.
Germany pissed off FIFA in game 1 against Japan with their stupid protest, and by doing so, FIFA gave that goofy ass goal to Japan. This VAR bull is just a coverup for FIFA to make calls in favor for the underdog in order to make the entire tournament more "exciting" so that more people watch the advertising. Just look at the FIFA poll after world cup ended on their youtube. They asked was this the most exciting world cup you have ever seen with like 80+% saying yes.
Even before the world cup, they were using boycott qatar hashtags all over social media. Not a smart thing to do ahead of a major tournament. So many factors were involved in this elimination.

football has historically favored Europe and the West. Asia is always judged unfairly. please stop making excuses. If there is a difference in power, the team can win regardless of even such a judgment. This means that there was no difference in strength from the beginning.
Cheap excuses, Germany lost fair and square against Japan. The problem was not the var they lost because they lack the spirit and competitive mindset that Germany used to have. And that’s was showed in the other two games where they got lucky to tied to Spain and barely able to defeat Costa Rica.

Enough with Ozil, he was a great player helped us a lot. He did get unfair treatment from some idiotic fans. But he's way past his prime. Even in 2018 he didn't perform too well. So I don't understand why people are bringing him up and linking him with Germany's downfall
