As far as reverb....that specular tempus is amazing!! It has so much more depth than the stomp. The subtle modulations in the reverb are really nice and smooth!

Both of your reverb sounds are amazing! The stereo field of the Specular Tempus reverb is much wider. That made it sound more pleasant to me. Both on sounds the best, though! :D

I'm running a very similar setup, Chellee Sir Robin (bluesbreaker), Tumnus Deluxe (Klone), and a 1981 DRV (Rat). Then an h9 for delays, a specular for verb, and the iridium to end the chain. Plus other fun ones I switch in and out such as the rubberneck and mood. The breaker, klon, and rat are a really versatile bunch!

I definitely like the gfi it’s more full in sound and it spreads nicely that could be use for your ambient for nice slow parts! And the verb on the stomp is perfect also definitely keep both. But I’m with the gfi

I was hoping to prefer the line 6 reverb because it would be another reason for me to dump my pedalboard and go with a full helix, but i gotta say, i preferred the Specular Tempus. A hybrid setup like yours seems to be the best choice.
J G I completely agree. I actually owned the helix for like a week haha. I can say it’s a fantastic unit, but I found myself desiring some of my other pedals, GFI being one of them. Another guitar player on our team uses the helix and makes it sound great! For know, the hybrid is what works for me. Thanks for the feedback!

if you wanna go direct to PA / FOH , will you use the 1/4 ts cables from output straight to FOH, or 1/4 TRS cables ?
When I ran this setup, I just used TS cables into two stage direct boxes.
I basically want to buy the same guitar you're using, everyone one of your pedals, put them in the same order you did, and just be happy! :D

How did you made the drive pedals sound good through the hx stomp...i don't get it, when i plug my board into the stomp the drive pedals sound completely different :(
A lot of it has to do with the IR.

You should think about replacing the trex. Something low profile that will power the wireless, stomp and rest. Like the Strymon R300 or the truetone CS6. Definitely options for you that will fit the small space under the board and more than enough juice.

Yeah that’s correct!
You should run both Spec Temp and HX wet effects together via midi. That way you can maximize your verb and delay presets. Also cuts back on tap dancing!

This is one of the BEST sounds of the Line 6 HX I’ve heard. Did you record directly to your PC? Would it be possible to emulate this exact sound live using FRFR speakers?
Thank you! Yeah I recorded straight into the interface. I guess it would depend on the overall speaker voicing, but yeah. It sounds pretty consistent on different platforms.
Can you specify what Lollar pickups? I’m think of getting vintage on the neck and special t on the bridge. Thanks in advance.

By the way I noticed you don't use a compressor. Is there a reason you don't? Just curious.
Thanks so much! The specular tempus is a really great pedal. Yeah I actually use a comp on the stomp. I use the la2a comp and place it in between the amp and cab. These days I’ve been using the walrus audio deep 6 and the la2a comp in the same spot, but running at 50% mix. Both sound great.

How did you get the Mosky to control 1 effect and tap tempo on the other ? I can’t get it to work. But it’s not the switch because it’s worked fine to bank up and down presets. Any help ?
I switched it in the global settings. I changed foot switch 5 to tap/tuner and foot switch three to a standard stomp. Let me know if you’re still having trouble and I’ll reach out with a more detailed process.

Awesome tone bro! Do you tried to put the Specular in the Stomp’s Fx Loop? So you can use the balance outputs of the Stomp without the need of a DI?
Josué Aguilar Thanks so much! I’ve thought about running it through the loop, but it takes away another block. Additionally, I’d run it last in the chain, so it doesn’t seem worth it in my case. That said, it would be nice to have it in the loop while I’m using the stomp as an interface or working with hx edit. Thanks for the feedback!

Can I just set up a clean patch and run my entire board into the “front” of the Stomp like you would an amp without and effects loop? I’m looking for something to leave at church and guitarists be able to take their boards home. Essentials, just a silent stage amp solution but EASY to plug into.
Yeah you could, but there might be cheaper options if you’re not planning on using all the other effects. I’d go for the strymon iridium for that purpose. It’s sounds fantastic!

Hey! Yes I do. I use one in the stomp and oddly enough, I use it in between the amp and cab block. Hope that helps!

How do you get that kind of delay sound??
Most of the delay is from the stomp. I run that into the specular tempus to smooth it out.

You use the Specular Tempus so perfectly! I just bought mine a month ago, and I dont think I use to its full potential. Do you have any tips on making great use of it? I bought with the intention to get ambient effects for worship someday.
I would just start with some of the stock sounds. They sound really good. I tend to use it just for reverb. I’ll run the same reverb on a given bank, but adjust the mix level. For example: bank A = shimmer. Foot switch one mix = 25, foot switch 2 mix = 50. This allows you to have a nice setting for full band parts, but also a nice setting for ambient parts.
I do the same with the spatium verb. I’ve got three settings for it adding a bit more on each one. Tempus is a great pedal.
question would you get hx stomp over a boss gt1000 and have u ever tried the hx stomp with a frfr speaker aka a power speaker
Yes. I probably would. I really prefer using other drive pedals into the unit. It just sounds and feels better imo. The GT1000 is a great unit, but I also prefer the GUI of the stomp. HX edit is very easy to use and well laid out.
Finally, the stomp is smaller and cheaper. These days, portability is pretty big. All that to say, I’ve played the GT1000 and can say that it is a solid unit. It’s definitely worth considering if you’re debating between it or a helix floor.
And yeah I’ve played through an frfr speaker. I’ve actually gone through a couple only to resort back to using studio monitors. I prefer studio monitors way more than the frfr speakers (the ones I’ve tried at least).

@@rudycastillo6369 I don’t venture into the heavy stuff too much, so I can’t really speak into it. They both sound really good and are incredibly versatile in achieving a wide range of tones.
@@rudycastillo6369 They both do heavy sounds well. I prefer the stomp for my needs because of the size, sound and GUI. If you want more foot switches and control, look into the helix lt or the helix floor. If you want to use other pedals with the unit, then the stomp is a good choice.

Roger Bakke I’m not sure, but I’m guessing version 1 considering I’ve had the pedal for a long time.
It's the MK1. MK2 has more knobs and switches. Those MK1s are worth a bit of money now. Straight rip off clone of the Pog nano. Mooer apparently took the code straight from the Pog including the EHX copyright text which stung them in the lawsuit and they had to start making the MK2 which isn't as good. I have an MK1 as well and love it
