Julie you are awesome, not only with your cut but you are patient and nice with your dog. It happens where I see groomers to not be respectful towards their dogs and I personally think it is not fair. We are asking then to stay still for a long period of time then the least we can do is to be nice with them. Thank you Julie!
I had a standard poodle client come in yesterday and I was so overwhelmed by the big to do that was his groom BUT- I followed this step by step and everything turned out beautifully. This video saved me from my crisis
Julie you are amazing 🙂l would love to be as good as you in grooming Poodles. My 3 year old Toy Poodle is not keen on being groomed it’s like he is tired all the time. I am hoping he will get better so l can do a better job with him. Thanks again for your new video he is a lovely Poodle.
Extreme look 30-40 blade: ears/back of tail. Otherwise 5F: ears and back/tip of tail #1/Orange comb: top line - just past withers to before base of tail, back of hind legs (pin bone to just above hock) and inside of hind legs, reverse comb for tuck up (to elbow) O/Yellow comb (A comb if longer/2 for pet trims): below ear to point of shoulder then skim, body/chest - withers to tuck up, shelf avoiding base of tail, also armpit Remainder is scissor work with Julie’s directions!
Great work. Excellent instruction. We're going to do my friends Standard Puppy this afternoon just for practice. It will be the first hair cut. This video will be at our side. We're both older Senior groomers and don't accept larger breeds due to our age but we both have standard poodles and not just one. I like my poodles in the continental trim and sometimes I get tired of having to brush my own dogs so they get short zero cuts and I get a break from grooming my dogs. Shaved ears is always nice especially for my arthritic fingers. Thank you for great grooming videos.
Thank you so much for posting your techniques. I have only been grooming for 3 years and I am constantly trying to learn better techniques so I can improve. I have a toy poodle that I am growing out to try and follow your videos. I look forward to all your videos. Thank you again!
Another beautiful groom. He is stunning. As a groomer. You are always learning new Technics and cuts. Well for myself. I appreciate all of your tips. Also your videos rock. Thank you very much. I might get enough courage to try this. Thank you so much. More videos please
SO SO happy that you are posting videos again! Love the German trim, a bit nervous to try it on our standard poodle. So far I have left it to his groomer., who is awesome with him. (he was a rescue, who had very little grooming experience ...) I may give it a shot, while, your video is playing again in the background.:-) P.S. LOVE that poodle, AND think you are an amazing groomer!
Hello. I have the wahl risers, what are the cutting lengths you use? orange and yellow ... and the blades? thanks and congratulations for your beautiful work.
So excited for a new video from you! Is there any way you can do the show puppy cut? Your videos have been invaluable for me and I am currently grooming a 9 month old show puppy as well as have an upcoming 3 month old. You have such skill and explain so well I would just appreciate a show puppy video from you so so much!! Thank you for the great content.
I feel bad for the matted neglected dogs that don’t get groomed on a regular schedule that never get brushed or taken care of and have to have their matted coats shaved off right to the skin or endure hours of dematting tugging and pulling at them…… feel bad for those dogs……
I wish your salon was close to me. I live in N Central Texas and will be picking up my new family member next weekend. Willow, is a standard poodle baby. Do you recommend anyone in the DFW metro area?
Fantastic, are these your dogs Julia. One question my new cordless Wahl clipper will only be used every 4 weeks on my toy poodle, should I leave it in the cradle to keep it charged or leave it out for when I want to use it. Also today I did the Miami a clip on my toy poodle wow I Follower es your video and everything turned out great, thank you again for putting these videos out and still on utube, I would miss them 🐩❤️
I'm not Julie, but when I want to replicate this look for a pet, I simply re-balance the trim for the body blade im using. if they want something shorter on the body, the whole trim is taken shorter to create balance. I have a couple that are REALLY short , like a 10, 7f, and 5f combo on the body, with the legs being taken tighter to fit the the trim. The German trim is really versatile when it comes to how tight/short you can take it! just takes practice figuring out the balance when modifying the trim.
Love watching you groom Julie! I’ve been admiring your skills for many years! Thanks for sharing 💕

My favorite videos!
I think this is similar to the sporting clip minus the ears being shaved and tail. Thank you!
You’re video was recommended to me. I am going to compete at Pasadena with a standard and need guidance with this trim. This was a great video!
Thank you!!!

I will get to work on it!
@@juliewilkinsgrooming You are so giving. Thank you so much.
Julie Wilkins thank you so much! That would just be amazing and I will be anxiously awaiting it!!
I always feel for the poor dogs having to endure this standing still for a long time to get the “ perfect “ cut.
I feel bad for the matted neglected dogs that don’t get groomed on a regular schedule that never get brushed or taken care of and have to have their matted coats shaved off right to the skin or endure hours of dematting tugging and pulling at them…… feel bad for those dogs……
I know this video is years old but hopefully you will read this do you pre clip your dogs before the bath. Love from Australia❤
Not usually on my own dogs, or for grooming competitions or dog shows, only on really overgrown pet dogs that need a pre-clip…..

Perfect video. What shampoo do u use?
EZ Groom Crystal White :-)
Using this for the trim I want on my boy but not doing the German tail and ears as he doesn't quite have a face for that. Has great ears.
Julie, can you tell me what dates your going to be at bige this weekend? Thanking you in advance Nancy

Could you list the shears that you used?
Wish I can be a super groomer like you are ❤️ If I ever come near to your city I’ll stop bye!
Muito fera, parabéns perfeito
So if you didn’t do the ears and left full but wanted the tail like that would you still shave bottom of tail
I don’t know it wouldn’t be a German Trim ;-)
i love the german trim but it’s not realistic for a pet poodle. can you please make a video for pet trims similar to this cut

I also would like to know if you do the teddy bear face on the cross breed dogs, eg poodle x Maltese or Maltese x shitx etc
Yes, I do :-)
