It is such a terrible waste that these guys could not sustain their relationship. They created some of the most creative songs ever. Paul Simon, a brilliant songwriter, and Art Garfunkel, a realy bright guy with an astounding voice.
The best songs, like this one, have already been written. No matter how much some are deluded by updates like A I and digital recording. This sounds better than any finished, slick product now passing for a song, even in it's first runthrough!
so many are so talented and experience attention and fame when they are young faster than they can mature and handle. relationships are affected or ruined. only to find in later years the ignorance and immaturity. this happens in many areas, especially marriage. we really should listen to our elders who lived it and know. ty for your music paul and art 🙏💜
Art Garfunkel had. the most amazing voice while Paul Simon was a great singer and a songwriter. This is one of their most memorable songs that they sang together.
THAT is who that is???? I just researched all over the net asking if Paul Simon had any siblings??? Was wracking my brain who that guy is????!!!! Wow..they could be twins..but yes, he is creepy.
He's undoubtedly exhausted by this point. Its been a very long day getting this final track lyric tweek, fully recording ready and the background instrumental parts finished and rehearsed, and then recorded .
@@johnnystarr2021 It's self-evident in the footage. This is not a recording studio. The documentary "Harmony Game: The Making of Bridge Over Troubled Water" included on the 40th Anniversary re-release of BOTW shows numerous clips of S&G in the studio and several clips of them performing songs from BOTW on their fall 1969 tour. This clip is likely taken from their appearance at Miami University in Oxford Ohio in October of '69.
Who was the other guy that looked like Paul in the leather coat with tassels - the one that was yawning??? Didnt he look like the guy in My Country for Old men??? lol lol lol
Towards the end of this video, producer Roy Harry can be seen walking past with a look of exasperation. Does anyone know the reason behind this? If you have any insights, please feel free to share!
The genius of paul simon. One the great song writers.
Garfunkel's voice gave it all the magic.........
Garfunkel’s beautiful voice
Perfectly pitched

Not one thing about Paul or Art was a waste. Yes, they are brilliant. Life is.
Yet they and Paul solo are still on of the most prolific artists in (great) modern music.
The fun leaves it. So would anyone
There friends to save that they probably quit before they kill each other
Could be the most famous footage in music history. Best singer of all time.
With a great composer who wrote that song...Paul Simon! What a team!
I'm sorry, what? Why would this footage be famous?
I wish I'd been there when they were young like that. Art was an angel, both in looks and voice. I love you guys ❤️💖.
May 30th 2024, And this is still an iconic song
And it will always be
We will be long gone, generations will have passed, the world will likely become unrecognizable, and this song will still be iconic. ❤
14th August 2024. I personally believe God used Paul's talent to write it, and Art's talent to sing it as a gift to us all.

Great wrecking crew member and Bread member and countless other accomplishments, Larry Knechtel brought in to play piano here. Great footage!
Looks like a quick shot of Hal Blaine on drums at the end.
@@richlevy6389 Great eye. I still can't make him out him but him and Joe Osborn, (two more wrecking crew members are listed)
Amazing
This is one of the classics of the last century.
This was the song my husband and I danced to at our wedding
That's voice incredible

Art Garfunkel looks as cool as f***, here. 👍
Moving....wish they would not of busted up. Love the poetry of Paul's lyrics and Art's sublime and soaring vocals.
Me too brother, one of the great tragedies of our music

Simon got most of the credit. Garfunkel was simply magical.
Voice of an angel.
Thanks for sharing this rare studio version
GREAT video!!!
Golddust footage ❤
Song Wonderful ❤🎉

Thanks so much for sharing that, I was about to go google if Paul Simon has a twin. They really do look alike.
Paul's brother Eddie at 0:40!
That threw me. I worked a show for Art G in the 1990s, & he also has a look a like brother.
He’s kinda creepy
Geea they are so young here. Anyone else think Paul is not really in to it? A bit sappy for me but I love S&G!
He's undoubtedly exhausted by this point. Its been a very long day getting this final track lyric tweek, fully recording ready and the background instrumental parts finished and rehearsed, and then recorded .
wow
Who the hell is the guy that looks just like Paul Simon?!
his brother i believe
I wonder if the piano player is Larry Knechtel, from Bread...
Yes, it is.
This was just a practice session?
It's a pre-concert sound check.
@@TedHaughawout I'm sorry, but where did you get this information? :)

That was a soundstage. Not even a proper recording studio. Couldn’t believe all of the people in there.

Paul's brother - Eddie 😱
That was Paul Simon

Probably because of the Sound (Mike) problem.
Paul was always a diva.
No, Art was the diva. I’ve heard him having loads of hissy fits in his jealousy of Paul.
Why would Art be jealous? He had the superior voice. He always carried the harmonies
@@dragonmummy1 Yeah, the taller guy with the golden voice who always got all the credit was the one with "jealousy"...?? Sounds right.
Paul Simon's brother has even worse hair than Paul Simon!
ポール・サイモンの双子の弟ですね。
