정환이는 늘 거지같은 타이밍. 그 타이밍이 문제라고하는데 사실은 그 타이밍 잴 시간에 택이는 늘 직진을 하고있었어. 정환이 덕선이가 늘 티격태격할 동안 택이는 예쁘다. 이름을 불러주었고. 개다리춤 추는 덕선이 앞에서 정환이는 좋아하는 사람앞에서 개다리춤을 출 리가없다는 동룡의 말을 떠올리고 좌절을 하지만 택이는 그 모습을 보면서 방긋 웃지. 대국 끝나면 영화보고싶다 라고 말했던 것처럼 택이는 바로 대국 끝나고 덕선이에게 전화를 걸었고. 이틀밤을 새고와서 피곤하고 결국 영화관에서 잠이 들었을지언정 덕선이와의 영화약속을 지켰지. 택이가 망설인 적은 딱 한번밖에없어. 정환이가 덕선이좋아한다는 걸 알게된 그때. 딱 한번밖에없지. 하지만 정환이는 수십번을 더 망설였지.. 결국 택이는 늘 직진하고있었어. 결정적일 때 딱 치고나갔지..
이건 절대 마지막에 어남택으로 튼게 아닌게 처음부터 덕선이 시점으로 보면 무조건 어남택이 맞음. 둘째딸로 살면서 자존감도 많이 낮은채로 살던 덕선이한테 택이는 항상 표현해주고 직진이었음. 그에반해 정환이는 우리야 작가가 정환이 시점으로 보여주니까 애틋한데 덕선이 시점에선 틱틱대고 츤데레임. 그리고 선우-정환으로 넘어가는 짝사랑 라인은 상대방이 자기를 좋아한다고 생각해서 시작된 마음이었고 택이는 주체적으로 선택한 사랑임. 그때 당시에 어남류 팬들이 워낙 많아서 마지막에 튼거라고 우겼지만 다시보면 어남택 복선 개많음.
타이밍이라기 보단 결국 덕선이는 택이를 택했을거임. 정환이도 주인공이었기에 타이밍이라는 걸로 애써 잘 포장해준거지. 애초에 처음부터 덕선이가 좋아하는 사람은 택이었음. 덕선이는 누군가가 자기를 좋아한다는 걸 듣고서야 호감을 드러냈는데 그게 선우랑 정환이었음. 정환이가 자기를 좋아한다는 걸 몰랐다면 그냥 재수없는 동네친구1이었음. 반면 택이는 다른 애들보다 다르게 대했고 특히 중국에 택이 아빠 대신 다녀온 이후로 자기도 모르게 어른스러운 택이에게 푹 빠져든거임.
소설에도 3인칭 관찰자 시점이 있듯이 우리의 드라마에도 늘 3인칭 관찰자가 존재하기 마련이지. 적어도 당사자보다 조금은 객관적으로 볼 수 있으니까. 덕선과 택이의 모든 일상을 공유하면서 곁에서 공감하고 관찰할 수 있던 관찰자로서의 정환의 역할로 인해 많은 다수의 사람이 매력을 느꼈던 거 같지만, 사랑방 손님과 어머니에서 화자는 옥희지만 주인공은 어머니와 손님이듯이... 드라마의 주인공이 늘 말해야한다는 법 없다는 훌륭한 예로 정환이 남아준 것 같다.
일리있지만 꼭 그렇지만은 않은것 같아요. 여자는 내가 좋아하는 남자가 아닌 나를 좋아하는 남자를 만나야 한다는 말. 눈에서 멀어지면 마음에서도 멀어지고 자꾸 볼수록 정이 든다는 말. 분명 일리는 있지만, 단면적인 말 같더라구요. 여자가 나를 좋아하는 남자를 만나야 한다는 말은 그 사람도 나를 좋아하고 나도 그 사람을 좋아해야 한다는 뜻이지 어느 한쪽이 일방적으로 좋아해서는 이루어지지 않는다는 뜻 같더라구요. 내가 전혀 관심도 없었는데 그 사람이 날 좋아한다는 소리를 들은 후로 나도 그 사람을 좋아하게 되는 경우가 있는데, 어떤 사람은 도저히 좋아할수가 없더라구요. 아무리 자주 봐도 도저히 정이 들지 않고, 아무리 멀리 오래 떨어져 있어도 계속 생각나는 사람도 있더라구요.

i really love the directing of this drama.. the way they showed junghwan's effort at first then turns out taek got there first and then showing what taek sacrifies to be there when ppl are already rooting for JH... and i love the whole plot and direction too they really have to make ppl believe its gonna be JH for some spice and ppl hate to accept they're guess is wrong so bad that is why many ppl wanted it to be JH badly like.. yall really thought the direction would make it so obvious who the husband is just because they banter on ep.1 then transitions to how DK and JH banters in '88? They wanted the viewers to believe its JH. They got you!
Because in Reply 1997 and 1994 the identity of the husband was pretty obvious since episode one and all the hints says it was the “childhood friend/ close friend” who is always bickering with the FL and it turned to be true. If the writers if Reply 1988 went with the same trope JH would be the obvious answer. But the plot if this series is different and actually creative
그래서 그랬다거나, 그때 그랬으면… 할 필요가 없음. 덕선이가 택이랑 정환이 둘 다 얼마나 오랫동안 많이 봐왔는데. 아무리 저런 상황이라도 정환이가 더 좋았으면 덕선이가 영화 끝나고라도 정환이랑 이루어짐. 겨우 영화를 같이 본거 가지고 달라지지 않음. 그냥 원래부터 이유를 막론하고 정환이보다 택이가 더 좋은거임. 저기서 상황이 정반대라도 택이가 더 좋아서 택이를 선택함.
As a part of Team Junghwan, even if I love Junghwan more than taek, I understand why taek won Deoksun’s Heart. Even if Junghwan showed to Deoksun a lot of little attentions, He never really cleared what he felt towards her, I think that Deoksun was really confused and thought that there was no way Junghwan liked her since he was really one time cold, and sweet sometimes. I think that the reason why Junghwan lose that opportunity is because he waited the ultimate opportunity where he could loose her to realize finally that he should confess.
Taek will drop everything for Duk Seon. He's like a meek lamb that follows her instructions when she worries about his health. And he even gave her the championship trophy/vase from his biggest win. Duk Seon was just so dense she didn't realize it, LOL!
Taek forfeited the game for the first time ever just because he knew her date wouldn't show up. I love the fact that he was very observant before she got in the truck with Dong-Ryong. He noticed that she wasn't dressed for the date. He knew something was wrong from the way she behaved, too. He only followed the baduk etiquette by showing up in person and cancelling the match. We can see him washing his face, which is something he does after he finishes a game. After that, he goes the concert venue straight away. Without any second thoughts. Jung-Hwan, on the other hand, hesitates. Over and over. Even after seeing Deok-Sun's date with another woman, he still decides to watch the film. Over an hour into the film, he still ponders whether or not to go. This was just one of the many occasions where he, quite frankly, sabotaged his own chances. This entire situation aside: Deok-Sun deserved someone who she could be carefree with, with someone who wouldn't feel awkward or embarrassed around her, someone who would openly treat her well, someone who would give her full attention. Someone with just the right kind of love language and that person has been Taek since the start.

It's about DS finding her true love and JH's first love. But it's not necessary the same. When you think about DS's point of view, since her discussion with Dong Ryoung in EP 14 when he say "it's about who you love", she starts to think to Taek and she doesn't think about JH anymore, it's the same pattern, just like with Sunwoo. But the one sided love story of JH is so beautifully described that so many fans want them together. I read the comments in differents vid, many fans say that they were team JH at first when they were young, and when they rewatch it when they are older, they finally get why Taek is the husband. Hope that others fan who are still angry are open enough to rewatch the serie et see it from difference angle. 😉 Personally, I was team teak all the way. It's so refreshing that the girl fall for the soft, nice male lead for once! 😁
It's been a long time since this drama but, i said it once again. this is what deok sun need, someone who did not hesitate to show her they care. she live as the number 2, even sometimes her family "forget" about her.

This is a learning process for Jung Hwan. He needs to be more decisive and fight for his love. He's always been afraid or maybe prideful to show his softer side, always hiding it behind brooding/gruff/rude exterior.
junghwan and taek value their friendship so much that make them both didnt confess to deuksun. but taek show the progress after all this years while junghwan is still hesitated. but im still rooting for you jungpal!!!! please dont cryyyy. writer-nim please dont torture us. please make the decision faster!! and just dont add any crying scene for both junghwan and taek. pleasee T_T
i am super happy for taek but im super sad for junghwan... what is this feeling man??? this drama is making me question my own sanity arghhhh the struggle to choose between the two. man the writers have done such a good job by writing such strong two characters that are so different but equally endearing in their own ways.

Even if Junghwan showed to Deoksun a lot of little attentions, He never really cleared what he felt towards her, I think that Deoksun was really confused and thought that there was no way Junghwan liked her since he was really one time cold, and sweet sometimes. I think that the reason why Junghwan lose that opportunity is because he waited the ultimate opportunity where he could loose her to realize finally that he should confess.

Taek will drop everything for Duk Seon. He's like a meek lamb that follows her instructions when she worries about his health. And he even gave her the championship trophy/vase from his biggest win. Duk Seon was just so dense she didn't realize it, LOL!
Taek forfeited the game for the first time ever just because he knew her date wouldn't show up. I love the fact that he was very observant before she got in the truck with Dong-Ryong. He noticed that she wasn't dressed for the date. He knew something was wrong from the way she behaved, too. He only followed the baduk etiquette by showing up in person and cancelling the match. We can see him washing his face, which is something he does after he finishes a game. After that, he goes the concert venue straight away. Without any second thoughts.
Jung-Hwan, on the other hand, hesitates. Over and over. Even after seeing Deok-Sun's date with another woman, he still decides to watch the film. Over an hour into the film, he still ponders whether or not to go. This was just one of the many occasions where he, quite frankly, sabotaged his own chances.
This entire situation aside: Deok-Sun deserved someone who she could be carefree with, with someone who wouldn't feel awkward or embarrassed around her, someone who would openly treat her well, someone who would give her full attention. Someone with just the right kind of love language and that person has been Taek since the start.

Totally Awesome Drama. I think DS had more chemistry with CT. Feel for JH but he had so many chances to confess to DS but always held back.
It's about DS finding her true love and JH's first love. But it's not necessary the same. When you think about DS's point of view, since her discussion with Dong Ryoung in EP 14 when he say "it's about who you love", she starts to think to Taek and she doesn't think about JH anymore, it's the same pattern, just like with Sunwoo. But the one sided love story of JH is so beautifully described that so many fans want them together. I read the comments in differents vid, many fans say that they were team JH at first when they were young, and when they rewatch it when they are older, they finally get why Taek is the husband. Hope that others fan who are still angry are open enough to rewatch the serie et see it from difference angle. 😉
Personally, I was team teak all the way. It's so refreshing that the girl fall for the soft, nice male lead for once! 😁

This is a learning process for Jung Hwan. He needs to be more decisive and fight for his love. He's always been afraid or maybe prideful to show his softer side, always hiding it behind brooding/gruff/rude exterior.
