We've been traveling cross country last couple of years in our car then my truck. That being said we stayed in hotels at $150.00 or more per nite. this year we're taking trailer and paying as business $20.00 is more than welcome. Thanks for the review,it really helps.
Great video! As a prospective Harvest Host I got some very useful info from your video. Have you ever stayed at a harvest that didn't have a way for you to SPEND $20 where the host was NOT expecting your $20 donation? That would be my situation with Harvest Host; and I don't think it's right for a business to ask for a donation if they don't offer goods or services for purchase (That's just my view on that subject). I also know that Harveat Host is limited to one night. Have you ever been extended an invitation to stay longer?
These are great questions! I have been to 2 different harvest host that were farms that were out of season so couldn’t buy there product so I had to give a $20 donation! It kinda mad me mad but I should of did more research before staying with them haha! Some harvest hosts offer extended days but with a fee but most are one and done might stays! So glad you got some useful info from the video 🤗🤙
Really great insights you shared. We just started our journey on the road and loved that you discussed creating videos and unique experiences as a pro for the HarvestHosts subscription. We had heard about these services from others but your review really got us sold on it, we are planning on signing up!
I’m so glad you got something out of this video! So many neat experiences and people to meet along the way! The alpaca farms are always so fun haha really hope that works out for you! Safe travels on your new journey! 🤗🤙
Great review of what is out there. As a host, we have enjoyed meeting folks of many backgrounds with stories of their travels. Steve and Carol of Reno sure enjoyed hearing of your travels, keep on trucking....
Thanks for making this video!! I am about to finally get harvest host and so I was looking for some ideas about what to expect... This video was so helpful!! SUBBED!
@@NomadaTrev I appreciate that you shared the pros and cons... I have been looking at more unique places to stay for a while and this seemed to work but up until more recently since I am in a tiny van I didn't qualify... so thank you so much!!!
Thanks Trevor, just getting started with membership. I thought as much with Harvest Host but didn't know that it was required. I wonder what the benefits of being a host for Boondockers Welcome are. Very helpful video
We have HH/BW but we’re on the East coast. Only been to 4 HH and 1 BW but it was all great. From what I can tell your assessment is spot on. We’re only 21’ class C, so we fit anywhere. I’ve read a lot on BW for up coming trips and it seems anything over 25’ will be out of luck
Thanks for the video. Very helpful! Now I have a better understanding of HH, still not 100% clear on BW. Is it free to stay, do you pay a nightly fee or just donation? If free, what is the incentive for them to allow RVers to stay at their property? Thanks!
Glad I could help with this video! So BW is free, it’s more for if you are traveling and need to stop somewhere! Some places charge for power hookups and some don’t! They usually tell you in there notes before you stay!
Good video - thanks! I've heard $10 donation if you buy something (they have a store) and more $$$ if you don't buy something or if they don't have a store. What do you think?
Glad you enjoyed this! 🤗 they say $20 donation usually or buy something at there store! You could try $10 but usually when you request to stay it says at least a $20 worth! Hope this helps!
Aww thanks so much 🤗🤗 on the harvest host/ companies you only get to spend one night! But the Boondockers it ranges from 1-5 days depending on the place! Thanks for the questions 🤗🤙
I keep hearing that if you have longer vehicles or towing, it can be tough to find spots. We're in a 30ft with a truck behind it. I dunno if it'd be worth it for us. Harvest Host might be fine, but not sure about Boondockers welcome.
I have heard about some spots not having much room! I have been to places where I was glad I didn’t have anything bigger! They usually say if you can fit it not before you try and stay though! Some places are literally right in there driveway! But I’m sure there’s plenty of opportunities for you with that length! Sorry I don’t have much insight on this!
hey friend.... enjoyed the video... I just wished that Harvest Host would not hit my card un-aware. If you don't want them, you have to actually go in and cancel your subscription, else they will automatically charge you EVERY year. You may have a bad year medically or financially.. no matter they will charge you unless you cancel out your whole deal. This year.... I didn't want to use it. I'm thinking that I won't sign up this year. But guess what? They charged hit me for $159...... Now I am a member for another year... "Like it or not" Beware of this when you chose to buy in..... Because of this policy... I will never buy another membership with them again....
Hey friend and glad you enjoyed the video! That actually just happened to me too last week so I know the pain! I really think once you but the year you can take your card off? Well I thought you could but yeah I know what you mean! 🙈
I was curious about this, having never heard of it until your videos. Good insight. Do you know if it's all the same if you just had a car and a tent? Or is it mostly only RV-types allowed?
You have to be in a 'self-contained' situation. No outside cooking, sleeping, toilet/shower. Everything on the inside of your rig. We were in a pull-behind off-road trailer so were unable to do Harvest Host. Waiting for our new truck camper. Will be able to do Harvest Host, etc. in that.
That’s a good question, I believe that it has to be an enclosed shell camper with a bathroom from what I read long ago! It could of changed but I remember they weren’t allowing truck tents then! 🤙
There’s quite a lot of places to boondock but sometimes there’s not enough or they don’t have long enough stay periods so I also disperse camp when I can’t find one! I wouldn’t completely depend on it but still lots of options in my option! Hope this helps! 🤙
Dry camping is free with Boondockers but if you want power some places are free and some have a fee. I only ran into one place that wanted $35 bucks a night for power and I passed. But most places ask for a $5-$10 - night but power is always optional! It’s very nice depending if you get somewhere to dry camp and it’s hot you have the option to get power for AC or something! Hope this helps a little 🤙
Harvest host - not great experiences if you are a single female - canceled that part of my membership with great difficulty. Customer service insisted on details which I felt was embarrassing and not necessary as they had offered a money back guarantee that year. Boondockers was sold to Harvest hosts so we will see
@Leo_Lady4377 Thanks for your feedback! I like to hear other’s opinions on HH! I have ran into #1 and stated in my video! Also I did notice they raised the expected purchase price to $30 instead of $20 so I get where you are coming from! 🙈
Loved watching the video and so enjoyed hosting you for three nights. Safe travels…..
Hey there, is this Pearly?! Thank you for having me 🤗🤗🤙
This is very helpful information. Thanks so much.
So glad you got something out of this! 🤠🤙
Amazing as always trever. Am so glad you are trying all these places out.🤗💚

Yeah hotels are insane right now! 👀 that sounds like so much fun, hope the best for your travels! Glad you got something out of this video 🤗🤙

@maryrinkevich9275 No problem 🤗🤙
That was amazing as per usual 🥳🥳 and what’s the longest time you can spend at those sites like 3 days or a week or more??
Aww thanks so much 🤗🤗 on the harvest host/ companies you only get to spend one night! But the Boondockers it ranges from 1-5 days depending on the place! Thanks for the questions 🤗🤙

File a claim with credit card. I got $ back before.

@wayneukes2438 Wait you couldn’t do it in a pull behind camper? It wasn’t self contained?
Disperesed camping apps or boondocking better??
I use Campendium for dispersed camping! It really depends on the area you are at! Boondocking is cool in big cities! 🤙
Do they allow truck tents or just RVs
That’s a good question, I believe that it has to be an enclosed shell camper with a bathroom from what I read long ago! It could of changed but I remember they weren’t allowing truck tents then! 🤙

I'll stick to stealth.
All good, sometimes it’s nice to have other places to stay too! 🤙
I the current 30 dollars a night is more than most dry camping in campgrounds. I don't see the advantage.

I understand the HH wanting you to spend money each place, but how about BW? Do the hosts expect donations?
No I’ve never given a donation at a BW but sometimes they want a small fee for electric hookup or water. Depends on the place!
Some do
Seriously,why the backwards hat ?
