If it's a bolt on then it's a Dinky. I bought an X Series Soloist (neck-thru) in Jan 2019 for $625 new. I am impressed with the build quality. The guitar is flawless. However, It came with Duncan Designed pickups and a Floyd Rose Special. I played it stock for 2 years then in '21 I finally replaced the pickups with real Duncan's. The Duncan Designed pickups sounded muddy to me and I had to turn up compression to get any kind of sustain out of them. I put a SH-1 in the neck and a JB TB4 in the bridge. What a HUGE difference. Then in Feb of this year I replaced the Floyd Rose Special with an Original Floyd Rose because I was having problems with strings popping out of the lock blocks. Now matter how tight the lock screws were, strings kept popping out. After researching online, it seems this is a common problem with the FR Special. Now, it's my favorite of all my guitars. I play it every day. Even after replacing the bridge and pickups it's still half the price of one of these new ones.

Jackson in house floyd is surprisingly stays in tune (doesn't like pulling back though) no sharp frets, tuners are meh but who cares on a double locker. I wouldn't recommend the current iteration of the Kramer Pacer Classic. At least the current run has absolutely abysmal quality control. I'm not talking about the usual tolerances we have to deal with. This is worse. And you can even see that on some pictures that guitar store websites have online. Some of these guitars have crooked neck plates, so the screw holes in the neck are actually drilled badly. A lot of these have terrible fret jobs and come with a lot of high frets. The electronics are terrible as well. I bought one. This is a list of problems mine had and still has:
    - 6 high frets
    - the screwholes for the trem cavity are crooked, so they drilled 6 more holes and just put in tooth picks in the misaligned holes
    - output jack was broken; loose contact with the cable - had to replace it
    - Volume poti for neck pickup doesn't close properly; I have to "massage" it to get it to 0
    - tuners were all loose, they are also machined badly; the edges of the holes are sharp, which results in strings breaking at the tuners
    - the locking nut is coming loose, so the screw holes might be already worn
    - The finish appears to be a rush job; I can see some crack lines. Since the finish has a strong metallic look to it, the cracks are only noticable up close and when holding the guitar at specific angles
If you actually decide to buy this, do a thorough inspection and be prepared to send it back.

I know Jackson wants to have presence in the premium USA market again. But isn't there someone left at Jackson that remembers how they did it successfully in the past? Because the new soloist isn't even competative feature wise for its price point. Does Jackson think they are so elevated that they don't even need to be competative?

I also can't stand Jackson tuners, for me that was the first thing to get changed.
If these came with some pickup options, it really would have been an excellent value guitar. The people scoring them for 300 - 350 though are really getting the right deal.

Hi thanks for the video. I have an old dinky. I don't use the whammy bar that much, but when I do, the G string always goes out of tune. Can you tell me why??

I had a js rhoads and I loved the neck but the action was horrible. Couldn't lower it or adjust the neck to get it close. The factory pups were weak. How does this series compare to the js series? Thanks , awesome video as always

Even JS series are expensive in Brazil. You can buy a high end axe from a local brand for the same price of a JS 32.

It's great looking. But the bridge needs to be replaced which is like 200$ & the pickups sound a little "flubby" to me.
Looks like a great body & neck though.

Dude, I have the Jackson DK3M Pro HSS pickups. The guitar is awesome and limitless in styles it can play and the middle pickup of the Seymour Duncan's it has in it are awesome tone! The Humbucker Bridge is a (1) TB4 and then MIddle and Neck (2) SSL-6 strat style pickups, and it truly is a metal monster. The pure cleans these single coils get on the middle pickup are some of the best sounding I have ever had in any guitar I ever owned in 38 years of playing. Also no screaming feedback that shocked me since most single coils are hard to control the noise. Mine will sit dead silent with full gain on. I know that Jackson there doesn't have the same pickups mine has , but you shouldn't rule them out. If you get a chance to review of DK3M, get it! It rocks and I only paid $630.00US for it used.

The yellow one looks good. Prefer an original Floyd and Seymour Duncans. The Jackson neck is high velocity. Love my Kramer Baretta vintage with the single tilted Seymour Duncan and swapped in overly expensive original Floyd. An upside down headstock would be badass. I've got an ESP Kamikaze with the upside down headstock and it just looks badass. It was the first upside down headstock I'd ever seen when the In My Dreams vid played on Mtv for the first time. It's all maple, so you you might need help getting the strap over your shoulder. Kinda like a spotter on a really heavy bench press. 😁
    Love my Jacksons.

Yeah Jackson always been good. I have a Jackson professional Fusion STD from 92 or 93. Shaller made the FR from those years in Germanny(JT-590). They made it in Gibson mensur 24.75/629mm. (hence the name "fusion" i suppose" Superstrat Dinky. I think its one of very few Dinkys ever made in the shorter scale. Awesome shredder made in Japan at the Chushin Gakki factory. Bought it used maybe 10 years ago. Dangit i need a new one after seing this. A ordinay 25.5/647 mm neck. This one indeed looks interesting. They should do a reissue of a few models imo. I miss the pro serie Max you make great videos. Hurrah! dangit i miss the Jackson Pro Series DK2M Dinky 2006 - 2009. With the shark fins inlay. they had a JB in the bridge and a Jazz at the neck. I beat myself for not buying one back then. Price was very good and one could pick up one for very reasonable prices.

Tried one at GC with a gtx100 and loved it. Can you tell a diff in sound between the gt 100 from the gtx 100 max. Seems to me the gt is clearer and less muddy esp on the Europa stock settings I like.

    • @allanpierce9700
      @allanpierce9700 2 года назад

@UCPx64O84gaZzZMcvBVS-Axw max sorry but I didn't think I would be able to do it .
But maybe this is working so I'll go for it.. hi you are so cool and I have two of those b52 amps.. really dug the sound for like 80 bucks at GC.. you dont ever seem to age since then just your hair gets longer..if I was only so lucky maybe I'd have some hair at least.. what produces the sound more like or kinda like that b52... The gt 100 or gtx100 on the Europa factory setting...seemed to me the cab on the gt helped the sound more than the gtx can.. GC now has the gtx 50 and GTX 100 that I want to compare now too..but like I said and I can't remember about that gt 100.. and GC does not have all three of them.. but when I saw you going bonkers on the b52 I went ya this guy is exactly like me about loving that amps sound .. and I watched all of your stuff ever since. You are really good.. thanks for responding .. I feel like must have hit the right note asking you about that one setting that is the most awesome sound that fender had ever captured... Especially on the Jackson with active fluence pups.. I think it's the sx something only comes in white or black with or without the Floyd.. I found the perfect match with the Europa sounds.. there is another amp marshall makes I think it was the digital moving amp gseries 40 or something that I liked to play on before I ran across the gt and it had a sound sorta like the fender Europa setting ...but when I played that fender it pretty much left the Marshall lacking a bit.. it was nice too but the fender is the bomb like you say.. 😆 lol. If I would have ever known I woulda never had 50 guitars and all the other music equipment I purchased looking for that sound as they say.. a fender and that one Jackson would have saved years of searching for me. Oh yah I am a nut for those swords and knives too and love your opening up guitars.. perfect for your look max.. I'll let you go and just hope you receive my question .. you are so awesome .
I'm getting there with that amps setting and am pretty re inspired.. watching you on utube also keeps up the inspiration.. I'll tell my buddies at GC more about you and my other guitar friends for sure.. stay cool max thanks for your reply..I know I'll get the answer from you.

I wonder what type of Floyd style bridges you can fit into this guitar. I know that Ibanez guitars that come with the cheaper bridges have the option to swap them out with a Gotoh 1996t which seems to be unbeatable at the price point

The difference between th X-series and the upper tier JS series are minimal, same hardware, same woods, same FL system... The only difference is manufacturing country China vs Indonesia but there is a 50% price increase... I have a JS 32 and i really love the guitar, specially the neck and its a well made instrument....
