- Roger Daltrey celebrates his 50h birthday with a performance at Carnegie Hall with several guests. On 5_15, David Sanborn brings down the house. Also playing are Rabbit Bundrick, Phil Palmer, and backed by the Julliard Orchestra conducted by Michael Kamen.
RIP David Sanborn! I will forever hear your sax on 5:15!
Some kid from Julliard kicking ass hanging with Sanborn now kickin it :)
a great 70's rock n roll song!!!!!! back when music was still good, the good ol' 70's!!!!!!
Who's the Juilliard lad on trumpet?
This is THE definitive version of 5:15 ever done.
David Sanborn and the trumpeter kick major arse!
Even some of the band members look back at him
Absolutely loved This !!
I need to know who this trumpet player is. He goes toe-to-toe with David Effing Sanborn and more than holds his own, stealing the song. My congratulations, sir, wherever you are. I was there and it was even better in person.
Wow.
Rabbit is smoking on the keys!!
Oh my fuck, that duel. 5:15 usually isn't jazzy, but hot damn does it sound good played like this.
15 years & 1 month - is this the oldest video on RUclips?
roger daltrey is totally kickass here with all his mic swinging and shit!!!!!!
Let's see. There's Pino on bass, Simon Phillips drumming, and Billy Nichols sing backing vocals.
@obscuremedia : Yep, that's Rabbit. How could I leave him off the list?
@BabaORiley1972 Do you know if that was John "Rabbit" Bundrick on keyboards? Thanks.
@BabaORiley1972 Thank you very kindly. :)
I hope that trumpet player is making a ton of cash as a musician. He was smokin!!! N
Sadly, horn players rarely do make tons of cash... or even a decent living.
The fact they used Pino for this song instead of Entwistle while he was still alive is an abomination
Entwhistle did play two songs at this concert, just not this one. He did "The Real Me" and "Behind Blue Eyes," the latter on a beautiful gold-stringed acoustic bass, alongside the Chieftains.
