4:20 - That reverse angle view of the pipe is dope.
This video should be called "short boarders attempting to play on an old school longboard and ride it like a short board". Jami obrian is the best part of the video.
However this board was mentioned as used to surf 3rd reef pipeline not to nose ride.
Are you saying this board can not be ridden on the nose? Those waves are perfect for nose riding and so is the board.
+hoshino or both
Joe surfer agreed
Jami obrian??? wtf lolllll
Soooooo awesome yeeeeeaaaaahhhhhhhh!!! Sbortboard pro's riding classic longboards and throw back shapes...
These guys actually surfed this board better than I'd thought they would! I agree with Richard H, they didn't do much in the way of bottom turns, kick backs, and walking the nose like they did in the sixties, but for kids unaccustomed to riding the equivalent to the Queen Mary with a skeg, I thought they did some pretty groovy tube riding. Interesting challenge, fun to watch. But I betcha I could teach these youngsters a little bit about knee paddling :-)
JOB held that monster log through that section with the nose wobbling like a shaky new born colt.
Jamie has packed on some timber! haha
Can't wait for the rest of the Episodes!
IM GONNA LOVE THIS SERIES!
Great series! Can't wait to see more!
I learned as a 12 yr old back in da 80s on a 10’ hatchet skeg Noll. Almost 40 years later I still have it. It was mint when I got it being it was already 30 years old, but I managed to wreck it as a young teenager. I recently restored it, delamed it, painted the foam white with some acrylic, rice papered a new log and bam! I don’t know how I rode that thing as a grom, I remember charging big swell with it, all 40 lbs of it with no leash. I think learning and surfing on those old boards made you harder core. I remember transitioning to short board about 2 years after only riding the Noll, and it riding a short board was sooo much less stressful and I do remember taking more risk than my friends that never rode those old planks.
Good to see Jamie back on weekly episodes. Great show!
love it cant wait for the next episode!!!
funnest surf vid i've seen in a while! smiling the whole time
Great job boys!! Can't wait for next ep.
best red bull series ever!!
id like to see jaime o'brien surf that at pipeline third reef ;)
Enjoyed the boys having a go on the long board! Nice surf break.
Best series ever already
This is so cool! I am really excited for the boards of the future!
Love how Red Bull keeps uping the game
Great episode - wish it was longer.
RIP Greg noll ❤️ always will be my life hero
As an avid log rider it was cool to hear them express the feeling they got just from riding those boards even if they never attempted to ride the nose. Not even a cheater five guys? Well at least they were side slipping in the barrel and having fun.
Bought a10'er and now realising there's so much to learn!
this is a rad idea for a series
Great show!!!!!!!!
Now THAT was a cool video!!!!!
Might be one of the best series ever, agreed
The subject is simply amazing. Wicked video, really.
More of this!!!!!
This is so awesome
Excellent gents!!
Man that looks so much fun! I wish I'd been there.
Sick waves
I feel bad for the neglected noses of boards
on a firing little left, why would walk the nose
Loved it. Should have been at 3rd reef Pipe!
Awesome as usual, too short as usual. Come on redbull, youre spending a lot to send these guys out there, lets see more footage!
Back in the day I lusted after a Greg Noll Dora model ... I soooooooo wanted one and never got to ride one ....ARGH ...
this is awesome
such a sick job.
make them longer please!
The boys actually did good. Not easy to ride and style is everything
Too short, great start for this series!
so sick , wish i had there job!
I want one!
siiiick !! they shud try it at 3rd reef pipe toooooo !!
in episode 1 where were they surfing the greg noll board?
coolest video ever
...the true essence of surfing. Longboarding..... Love to hear the comments by these (younger generation) guys, " early in", " so different feeling" " really fast on the little wave" " side slipping" " so much fun....!".........dig it.....
I bet this video makes Greg smile ...
Awesome
Wish they'd talk JOB into surfing 3rd reef pipe with it.
so umm whens the next episode man?? loool cant wait lol
Sick
Not one attempt at footwork or noseriding. Tut, tut! Nice barrels though.
Theres a lot of us been surfing theses sort of boards like this since the 70s, nothing new, but maybe for junior pro surfers ?
nice
boards like this are meant to be rode, not hung and set to collect dust. These are altars of surfing, let them be free
Mike Maroney wtf
Ye
definitely agree
jamie has to be one of the most versatile surfers out
Cool
those boards are more appropriate for the kinds of places that break with 1 foot waves, but no reason why you can't ride barrels with them either
i like how jed speaks to specifically to your left ear..
Nice
look what jamie started getting barrelled yah jamie
Epic
Jamie O'Brien the king of Pipeline
MOOOOOOOAR!
Where abouts is this break in Tuamotu
That fin tho
No Fair! JDO has all the fun...
Could someone please tell me where this break is in Tahiti
Longboarding is forever rad.
I bet we'll see some of these boards in JOB 4.0
they are shooting it now
On my garage wall is a 101" longboard. Two stickers by Hansen Cardiff. I cut the skeg out in '73 and put in a box in an effort to make it turn. I would kick that tail around and move to the nose. Oh, she is so sweet. I have friends on the coast that called me the Lobster. It's mine but would love to see another like it. A photo for anyone interested. Alongside it is a primo fishtail winged Surfing New Image Aipa. My hero is Clyde Aikau. I am an old man, a nobody Veteran and fish out of the water.
I want more job 3.0
4:22 🤙🏾
How do you get to this break
where is this
Where are they
why didnt they have longboarders ride this?
Because they’re boring to watch and nobody would watch it. Bad business
" If it ain't broke... don't fix it "
What the first music?
BEN GRAVY!
Where is this?
I think it's called heaven
Please do JOB 4.0 !

JOB 4.0 soon??
Of course JOB gets the first barrel
hi
First! Can`t believe it happens to me on a redbull video, best day of my boring life :))
I can't believe nobody talks about Greg , as being a very shifty dad, if you know Greg then you know his family, he has had two great wives and many kids, but he is one stingy man, even the ledge has faults he just takes care of his other family, his other sons tate and Ryan are very good people and have loads of talent, not just jed, he's good but look who taught him, I might being telling too much about the man but it must be said, he picks and chooses who he has bow down to him. His greatest asset was his brother jimmy who we dearly miss, and wish he was still alive, totally opposite person a gentle soul with much intergrity, I miss him. I only live 10 miles from the bull, and use to idolize him until I met his family,, I guess he deep down is the surfer in all of us , but a horrible father..
Jack cahoonalagoona
Phil Edwards was the first to ride pipe. not taking anything away from da bull but just saying
