Great vid man and so were the drills. My coach came up with these amazing drills for reflex/1on1 situations. One of them is a very simple one where the goalkeeper stands on his line facing the net. The coach yells for ex. ‘Go!’ and the goalkeeper turns around just before the coach takes a shot from the 6 yards line (either straight at him or in either sides). An other fun drill goes like this: Try to have around 10 balls and put them randomly around the goal in the goalkeeper’s area and make the goalkeeper stand on his line and face the goal again. Meanwhile you choose a ball which you want the goalkeeper to attack. Yell ‘Go!’ and start sprinting towards the ball like the goalkeeper, if you get to the ball before him, shoot the ball at the goal like an attacker would, this helped me gain a lot of confidence and made me think quicker when facing 1on1 situations. Just a suggestion for your upcoming drills. Thanks again man!
Subscribed. As I'am preparing for my first semi-pro season (after 2 years of goalkeeping in "just for fun" games), these videos and tips have great value for me. Thanks! :)
Did Recreation when i was younger and was told i was the best and every coach wanted me on their team, after i did travel, now i have High school tryouts as a Junior and with these videos hope i get my rhythm back, Practice makes perfect
My 1v1 technique is terrible... However, this helped a lot, you explained it a lot better than all the trainers I had so far! Thanks! It's a shame we don't have trainers like you over here. Your videos are already helping me a lot, so having you as a trainer would be awesome!
Yo Alberto! Great video, as always. I was just wondering if there are any goalkeeper kits that you would recommend. I need a new kit for the upcoming season. Any response is appreciated. Thank you!
Nice drill Alberto! Say, can you do a drill on how to position your teammates when the opponent is having a freekick? I always find it difficult to make my mates block a shot. Hope you can make a drill about this! =)
I do have a video on this in my goalkeeper trianing playlist but I will work on it with my keepers in a session some day ! Thanks for watching and commenting
check out my goalkeeper training playlist for reaction drills I have 3-4 videos covering somethings you can do to improve reaction shots. Thanks for watching and commenting
Hey, could you help me with the 2v1 situation while goalkeeping? This situation happens a lot where I play and it becomes a trouble for me to stop the goals in such condition thinking whether the attacker with the ball will take a shot or will pass the ball to his team mate.
In 1v1 situations I always seem to lead with my legs first and its a real 50% chance of a save or a goal. Sometimes however I do lead with my hands and the chances of getting a save is much higher. The problem is it doesn't really come naturally to me and I always tend to go legs first. How do I overcome this? Also to note I play more futsal rather than field soccer. Thanks
could you do a drill on high shots that can dip over your head, because im having a problem were there is a high shot and i ether jump to early to get it over the bar and it goes in or i just freeze up and forget to jump and just kind of stretch my body, its a problem i dont know how to deal with, it also doesn't help that im quite small at 5'7, really appreciate your videos thanks! (im also 15)
Soccer Drills And Goalkeeper Training thank you so much! im currently competing for my position with a taller keeper and this hinder my starting spot and i feel you video will definitely help!
Hmm, I've been lookin for new cleats actually. I like to Adipure 11 Pro but I really miss my Kanga latex so I was looking at the Nike Tiempo IVs the black and white ones look really nice. For pants I'd probably go with more training tiro pants from Adidas, it's tight and look good for about the same price as GK pants that end up tearing either way. For Shirts I grab literally anything, it's been really hot lately so I've gotten used to short sleeve shirts. I get any athletic type shirt and use em. Gloves- if I were to be limited to two pairs I would get a black out and white out version of any glove. I love the black out style and a lot of companies are making their own black outs. I might do videos on this if others are interested thanks for asking!
Hey. As a keeper I find there is 1 type of shot that, always catches me out. It is the low power shot straight at me. I always block it with my foot (David de gea style )and it ends up as a corner. I need advice on how to save it with my hands.
work on your low ball situation, check out my how to save low shots video in my goalkeeper trainin playlist. You need to focus on your basket and forward dive!
But what happens when you are completely 1v1 .. You don't stay in goals then, you go towards them and wait for them to take a touch and jump on the ball then, the moment between him getting a touch and taking the next one is when you should jump on the ball, before that you stay on your feet, squatting and making himself big
***** counts on the situation, if he has the ball at his feet I stand tall and try to be big forcing him to miss the shot or shooting at me. IF he doesn't have the ball and is chasing it I race out and beat him on the ground.
Soccer Drills And Goalkeeper Training I'm talking if he has the ball at his feet.. I wait for him to take a touch before taking a shot/ passing (literally after the ball leaves his foot after the touch and he puts his head down) to jump on it because he has his head down and can't see that I am about to jump on the ball and he just took the touch and it's very very rare that he will be able to react fast enough for another touch.. I end up saving about 90% of 1v1 situations using this technique..
sounds like a good technique and you're waiting for him to make the first move which is a great thing to do it. Not to go to ground first will try your style out too sounds effective
Yeah give it a shot and make a review video about it.. It's just one of those techniques I picked up myself without absolutely nobody's help/ advice and I don't see anybody using it.. So it might be useful to others :)

Yo Alberto! Great video, as always. I was just wondering if there are any goalkeeper kits that you would recommend. I need a new kit for the upcoming season. Any response is appreciated. Thank you!

Timing is very important. Timing the shoot and your reaction is difficult and is best practiced with repetition!
