"I like my face" is such a great sentence to hear someone say... Why do we live in a society in which you are told to "walk with confidence" but god forbid you ever show any kind of satisfaction with the way you look, unless you want to be considered 'vain' or 'shallow'. Its important to teach young girls and boys and anyone between that its good and healthy to love your body, and it is okay to talk about it.
@@aikaterineillt9876 There is nothing wrong with liking your features and it is not bragging to say there are features about yourself that you like. If that triggers someone's insecurity then that's on them.
If you like plastic surgery I respect it If you're against plastic surgery I respect it If you like wearing makeup I respect it If you dislike makeup in general I respect it I will respect other people's opinions because if you think about plastic surgery and makeup, it makes someone feel more confident within themselves if you dislike plastic surgery and your makeup free then you are STILL BEAUTIFUL! Much love to all of you
+TickleMeShlomo Ever heard of a nose job? You're not even aware of a lot of plastic surgery that is done because when it's done right it's hard to pick up on without before and after shots and you're kidding yourself if you think that it's just done when celebrities are older.
To hear the mother talk like that about her child... i think that's the biggest indicator of how important looks are and how big surgery is. If even a mother can advocate that for her child and focus so much on looks then it's obviously deeply ingrained in the culture. a mother is supposed to think her child is beautiful no matter what... and should also support personal growth and stress the importance of that over looks...
+George Ford To be honest with you, I don"'t really think either that she has any job done, neither do I think that a lot of women of her generation are into it.
this kind of mindset doesnt happen overnight. if her daughter's generation feels that way then the parent's generation must have at least shared that sentiment.
I don't think plastic surgery is wrong but what I do find wrong is that they are getting plastic surgery to look like someone else. You should do something for you and only you not to be or try to look like someone else. I think they go overboard with this stuff. What I also don't like is the people who rudely and severely judge these people and say " You should love what God gave you" but would probably call them ugly on the other hand. But to each their own, I can't sit here and judge them for what they do to THEIR OWN FACE, its their own face.
Yes, God created all of us so beautifully, it’s really amazing. I do however, think plastic surgery is wrong if you want to change your features unless if one has a defect/deformity, if it’s out of vanity you’re basically criticising God’s beautiful work.
I find this so odd because I'm white, and when I was younger I actually used to pull on my eyes in the mirror to look more Asian because I thought they looked cool that way. I wasn't being racist, I was so young I didn't even associate it with a certain race, I just remember seeing the pictures of Asian women and thought their eyes were really pretty. So yeah, I guess we all want what we can't have xD I like my eyes now though.
Maybe you got tons of Asian friends and probably felt like you needed to look like them. Now you're probably feeling blessed seeing that so many Asian women want to have your eyes.
These are very young 18+ kids in this video. In America, most people don't get plastic surgery until they are starting to show signs of aging 40ish or more.
+Kraye Inluv Where are you from in the US? These are probably affluent teenagers in Korea. And in affluent areas in the USA, kids get plastic surgery too. The big one is the nose job. Also chin work. And add in lipo to that. You may get the idea it is just done in older folks because it's more noticeable when it is done.
I don't know when this trend started happening in Korea but the young people over there really need to wake up and totally change the way they think over there. I lived there for almost 5 years and just recently came back home to the US. Korea is without a doubt the most superficial society in the world. It's all about image, how you look, what you wear, etc. It's truly sad and pretty disgusting in all honesty. Young people, especially girls really need to wake up but I don't see that happening any time soon. Their whole mindset there is pretty sick but it's the norm sadly. All the girls look the same cause they all copy each other and follow what's "popular". Now you have this disturbing doll look trend that looks absolutely terrible but to them being a pale skinned anorexic looking stick with huge alien eyes looks good. Again, the society over there really has some major issues and it seems to be getting worse. I myself am a Korean-American and it's just sad to see how young people are over there and I thought young people in the US were bad lol.
RB M , it is really sad. We already went through this body dismorphic issue in the US about 30 years ago. American girls know about how models pictures are fixed and "shopped" and not realistic or healthily achievable. We learned about that in school as well as the dangers of eating disorders like bulimia and anorexia nervosa.
But the swing to the other end is just as problematic in the US with the "body positive" thing that morbidly obese people try to convey. It is not okay to be obese and unhealthy, and yet there are many morbidly obese people who are trying to show that to be obese is perfectly fine.
How 'bout we stick with presenting individuals at their healthiest and fit? More athletic and toned body types. You don't have to be a bodybuilder, they have a category of their own.
And I thought America had it bad. I just feel bad about how young these people are that just hate their appearance. All of these people looked perfectly beautiful before.
Joan Cassie true! I agree. they are all natural beautiful already and they don't need to have plastic surgery. all people has it's own unique features .
Joan Cassie Difference between koreans and Korean Americans. I live in America and i've never ever heard of a Korean getting plastic surgery in this country. I think it's because society is more open here and beauty is accepted in diverse ways. That's what I love about this country.
***** Based on your own standards* And like you've mentioned yourself, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I find all of my aunts, nieces, and relatives living there to be absolutely stunning (without any surgery of course)
Shelley Kim Well if your the only person they ever see that would actually mean something. "eye of the beholder" is more of a bragging thing for the beholder doesn't really mean shit to the ugly individual. So don't feel too good about your selfish self.
MissTarryn no you where right by saying bravo to those who love themselves, I believe that more people should repeat that to teach young people how to at least like themselves, cause this is whole race change instead of have a noise that looked brokken a couple times and you wanna do something about it so it looks like it's original state or something, or a lot of women that are kinda small on top and is really unsecured about not looking like a an adult, I really do understand that but if people keep talking about this like it's something positive to change your whole identity, and you know people are gonna listen to that, I find that pretty scary
ROBLOXobama1337 How long it last? 10 years at most? ROBLOXobama1337 God promises we will be in brand new incorruptible bodies in Heaven in the Bible, also. If nothing is "wrong" with these girls' faces, then why change them? "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".
tbh, i don't think there's anything wrong with plastic surgery, it's people's ideology that's fucked up. it's completely absurd how the media talks about how important it is to love oneself and the need to be confident with your complex, but then turns around and shows you what is expected of women. like how the fuck is a woman supposed to feel comfortable in her own skin if she is constantly being told that she isn't good enough? like a woman who likes her arse and chest and meaty thighs is gonna get a complex if the people around her keeps giving her grief about not looking like frigging miranda kerr. so i say if plastic surgery makes you feel better about yourself, then get it done. but don't do it because everyone around you is doing it and you feel the "need" to change yourself. a few certain someones in my life won't stop giving me shit about my wide-ish nose and slightly crooked teeth. do i get a little self-conscious about it? hell yes. but i am my own person and ain't no flat chested bug-eyed bitch gonna change nothing about that. so i guess what i'm trying to say is that you should get to know yourself a little bit better before you make any decisions. unlike a piercing or a tattoo or a hair style, this is not something that you can back away from. be wise about your choices so you don't regret it later on in life.
Agree with you. It also brainwashes man to think what women are supposed to look like. I get stupid comments when I don't fit my opinion about women along with the official mass media view.
Atticus Denzil not every woman looks like the woman in mass media thats all make up and pothoshop. but there is nothing wrong with wanting a gf with a slim waist and not to be obese if you workout yourself well also and do everything to look slim and fit.
pascal desjardins of course not and neither did i say it was :/ my point however is that there's nothing wrong for people to simply have their own personal preferences that don't fit or match any television approved standards i am not taking merely weight into account when i am saying this (personally don't like overweight)
Plastic surgery to get bigger tits or a nose job or even these absurd ass implants is the western reason....asians get it because they are trying to look european! It's very, very different. It belies deep psychological issues.
that girl was right, Kpop Idols can influence you but not also kpop idols, the standards and people arounds you and what you seen on TV and media will make you feel insecure about your appearance. When I got into kpop, I always admired HyunA, tzuyu and Suzy visual and it makes me want to have Nose surgery and eye surgery, And I talked about this to my mom and she told me that I don't have to change anything bc Personality matters than looks.
Why are ppl getting so defensive? Koreans are publicly open about having plastic surgery, aside from celebs. The only ones getting defensive are like, american/other country kpop fans. Its like , they dont want to see the image of their star idols being bashed. Well, WAKE UP. Almost all of them got something done. Those of you who believe that some of these kpop celebs had nothing done just because they said so or u read it off a news source, YOU ARE TOO GULLIBLE!
I understand completely but some people just aren't ready to accept the truth....they're delusional and one day they'll get over it and some won't. thats just how people are.
they are mad because if they admit it then they have to admit they are lusting after someone who isn't that gorgeous and whom didn't get that way naturally thus must be inferior in some way. Or god forbid simply ugly without surgery.
I remember when I used to teach at a Korean girls middle school, the girls would talk about the surgery they would get when they finished high school. It saddened me because so many of them felt they were not beautiful and so many of them wanted to change their appearance from a young age.
Kyou_ssi Michael Jackson's own plastic surgeon has admitted MJ NEVER had Vitiligo..and it's an insult to people who REALLY have that disease to say MJ had it. MJ himself told close friends and family that he was going to lighten his skin after he discovered it is perfectly natural for Asians & Indians to do it..and he wanted the same effects. Cher was a witness to this and told Larry King this publicly in an interview after his death. Furthermore..if you want proof MJ didn't have Vitiligo..take a look at videos of LaToya back when she believed MJ was a pedophile and was molesting children and did public interviews about this. She was EXACTLY as white as MJ was..yet..they both started out the same skin color. She went to the same plastic surgeon as MJ did..hence the reason they had identical noses and looked like twins..and hence the reason her skin was just as bleached as his was. LT stopped bleaching and is now naturally darker..but when they asked her back then if she too had Vitiligo like her brother since she was now as white as he was and they both started out the same skin color..she laughed and said "No..I don't need to pretend to have a disease in order to explain my beauty treatments." And just recently Quincy Jones publicly admitted MJ told him he didn't have Vitiligo..but knew the black community would attack him if he admitted he just wanted to be lighter for aesthetics. Keep in mind I don't see anything wrong with lightening the skin..just as there is nothing wrong with Caucasians getting a tan. My Japanese and Indian (India) friends all use lightening creams as it is culturally acceptable there to lighten for beauty. It is just sad MJ had to lie about it in order not to be made fun of. Of course..the ultimate proof was all the bottles of prescription strength Hydroquinone found in his home after he died and posted on the internet by the police since they were public record due to being used in his court case against his doctor.
I'm not surprised people really believe everything the media tells them. I'm assuming you believed that he bleached his skin and got surgery to look 'good'? You knew nothing about the disease there are multiple interviews of him into depth about?
I mean I don't think I look good. No one has ever told me I look good except my family and like 2 friends. I look average in my opinion but I would never get surgery. All I do is tell myself I am a sexy beast everyday to build confidence (even though I don't actually have confidence it helps me feel good about the way I look.) I wouldn't know the pressures of getting surgery since I am not Asian or living in Korea but I think everybody is beautiful just the way they are. You were born beautiful so you will always be beautiful no matter what. :)
There is an old song called "Everything Is Beautiful". Every person is beautiful in their own way. So, just know that you are beautiful, too, because God made you.
Well, there are two types of "beauty". Inner beauty and outter beauty. Judging from your comment, you seem to have a really beautiful character. However, there is nothing wrong with wanting to be appealing on the outside as well. So if you're not that happy with your appearance, try to change it. Doesn't always have to be surgery, it can be, if you wish though. ^-^
Sato Saotome I know there is nothing wrong with little changes. I mean if that is what it takes for them to have more confidence in themselves. I just wish people would see they are just as beautiful without it. But I see where you are coming from. :)
It not how the world is anymore people always say I like natural looks yet the call people ugly forcing people to struggle with identity and confidence
Whoever is reading this, you are beautiful. Don't think about what you don't like about yourself, we all have insecurities. Think about what you love about yourself, do you really wanna he made into a clone of every other person?
I have to money yet I still won't do it. It's ridiculous. It will never last forever. When you get older, you are going to look hideous with all the unnatural things you're doing to yourself. Just accept who you are.
I wouldn’t do it for my life. As a Muslim it’s considered a sin to change ur appearance unless you look deformed. Aside from that, changing gods creation is a sin which also comes to ur eyebrows, since we can’t really pluck, shave or thread them.
well, im asian and in my last year of high school. im lucky to have been naturally born with double eyelids, so looks like i can get a different graduation present. maybe something useful like using the money for this operation to PAY FOR MY COLLEGE
Where do you live? In most Asian countries, parents will pay for college and university fees. It's a culture in my country for parents to support a child until they graduate from university.
I live in America. My parents are going to pay for my college and graduate school, but I feel bad about it, since they already do so much for me. So Im trying to convince them to let me pay for college and have them take care of Grad School and living expenses since it is so expensive. And since I will be in school for 7ish years, i wont have to start paying back the loans until then, so I can save up money by working and doing internships throughout college and grad school and pay off my my college debt as soon as I finish grad school and get good credit. I already have 1/3 of my college ready to be paid from saving my money since I was born (my money, the money I get from birthday, christmas, etc.), and I'm getting half from scholarships, so I basically have 5/6 paid for.
DrFluffyPanda Don't feel so bad if your parents want to help you; you're making your parents life worth living when they see you live, and that's how life works. But if you have no interest in pursuing their plans, then you need to be open with them.
Oh my, your "lucky" enough to have been born with double eyelids? I could be wrong but that statement seems to imply having double eyelids makes you somehow superior. Doesn't saying that just perpetuate the inferiority complex of girls in the same race as you? You are definitely lucky that you have parents willing and able to pay for college and grad school.
This is sad. How we humans hate ourselves, always wanting to be something different/better/prettier/thinner/smarter.......the list goes on and on. We are devouring ourselves.
If humans had less time to fixate on unimportant things, it wouldnt even be a thought... when we had to hunt and farm our food I doubt people worried about how big their eyes looked smh
@@SL-yq8sf That's exactly what I've been thinking! Because technology has advanced so much, humans are getting more and more time on their hands to think about unnecessary things. Even though a lot of great things have come from our technological or even general advancements, humans are imperfect and will continue to develop instruments and cultures around those developments that will further destroy ourselves as human beings (mentally, spiritually, and physically). Sadly, it will only get worse...
@@zelmiracholevova184 I'm all for self improvement, but as far as I'm concerned, it's all about wellbeing and self acceptance. We seem to be focusing more and more on enhancement rather than improvement.
I feel bad for the girl thinking she's not pretty, but that's just a phase of life. All girls think that while going through that age or "stage" of life. WE ALL DO. It's just a little upsetting that she has to get surgery to feel pretty :( She's beautiful just the way she was before, nothing is wrong with her eyes...
sgcl10658 that's true. Hollywood stars are also imperfect as we normal ppl are... they also do plastic surgery etc and most of the teenagers think they are damn perfect... we should see the before-after, not the fake beauty... jeez this whole thing is so messed up.
They're beautiful because of surgery - to many Western eyes because they fit our beauty standards (even if it's in the "exotic beauty" category). They aren't all born fitting into our standards. Asians first of all don't all look like Koreans, and there is no race - Asian or others - in which all its people are born conforming to any particular idea of beauty. The problem is you get mixed populations (and therefore people) where the predominate one considers the other(s) ugly because it's different. And the minority is shamed, and instead of growing up believing they are differently beautiful, believe they are ugly. So they get surgery to conform to the majority's beauty ideal, and the surgical precision renders them "perfect." Now all of the sudden, the majority - who were "naturally pretty" but not without normal so-called flaws - are competing with that, being beaten in their own competition by those who no longer bear flaws. So they up their game, too. You get a surgery, and you get a surgery - SURGERY FOR EVERTONEEE!. To use a likely fairly well-know example - Game of Thrones. Sansa looks like her Southron mother, and is considered beautiful. Arya is bullyingly called "Arya horse-face." But Arya is also said to look like the infamous Lyanna Stark, who Rhaegar considered so beautiful he chose her to run off with as his second wife (yes, yes, laughing tree, yadda yadda, but don't tell me a handsome beloved prince surrounded by gorgeous women is making it with someone he's not attracted to even for a prophecy). So obviously to Rhaegar, Lyanna's Northerner-features (Andals and First Men etc. having different body characteristics) were beautiful, but to the south-born people she may not have been considered so (the Targaryens aren't actually Southron, they're foreigners so they don't quite count). If she was truly ugly instead of differently-beautiful, I doubt Rhaegar would've chosen her. But does child-Arya ever hear that she's just as pretty as Sansa just differently, or does she hear that she's simply not pretty? (I actually don't know, I've never read the books or seen a single complete episode, but my coworker tslks so much about it that between that and the internet, I've acquired an astonishing amount of knowledge about a fandom I don't actually follow).
Not everyone's natural look is considered beautiful though. And as long as we live alongside others who have features that are considered to be more attractive, it won't change. Everyone wants to feel beautiful after all, and that is achieved by comparing yourself to the ideal beauty standard.
Aminata S.A.D. But the point is that you don't NEED to be beautiful. Beauty in itself is a social construct. We don't have to put any worth to it if we don't want to. Actually, we should destroy that construct. Beauty is the biggest curse to this world - it makes people depressed, unhealthy, stressed, pressured, suicidal and it creates the cultures of objectification, fetishization and all kinds of body dysmorphic disorders. Porn, women's oppression, prostitution and many huge worldwide issues are being fueled by beauty standards. Beauty creates environmental hazards through mountains of thrown away makeup products and harsh, unnatural chemicals that alter us in hormonal level, it puts people at fatal risks when they undergo plastic surgeries, etc. etc. etc... I realized this by educating myself on the subject and I now know that I don't even want to be beautiful anymore, because I don't want to put myself under that oppression. I'm not putting myself inside that restrictive case anymore. Fuck beauty, let it burn in fire. And through educating other people, we will be able to put beauty ideals at rest, too, and can really start living as free human beings.
Natural selection is always offered as an explanation to harmful, hurtful issues, as a way to downplay or dismiss them. It's so often brought up as a tool to uphold a status quo of things. However, the natural selection theory as a basic explanation gives very vague, generalizing assumptions that can be brushed off with even the slightest bit of knowledge about actual human psychology, sociology, cultural history and anthropology. Beauty ideals have changed drastically throughout the centuries and civilizations. Females have been leaders in some societies, they have had much more muscular bodies, they have been heavier, fatter, more hairy, you name it. Beauty might have been a remarkable factor in many societies, but throughout the history of humankind, we have always been able to understand that personalities and actions matter more in the end. Beauty doesn't mean anything in itself, because unattractive people are not necessarily "unhealthy". Mating has always been more about pheromones and general health/physique. And in the end, children and entire, happy and successful families have never been built on beauty alone. Happiness is a much bigger factor in the survival of human species than the question of whether a hot man would like to bang a hot woman or not. But you know what? For the sake of your argument, let's believe for a second that it's true, and everything comes down to our basic biology. That we have natural instincts to favor more beautiful people. Well, we also have natural instincts to murder people, to steal stuff, to rape people, to beat them up. That doesn't work as an excuse to let people do those things freely, right? Especially when we are simultaneously capable of being empathetic, wise, knowledgeable, smart, communal, gentle and kind. So nature vs nurture, does it even matter? I'm tired of hearing how we should apparently continue making peoples' lives miserable because of shallow standards that are based on the mere potential that some of us might want to procreate or have sex with fancy looking people only. Let those fancy looking people screw each other in peace. They can continue oppressing each other with more and more ridiculous beauty standards, I'll celebrate my freedom from that prison with more meaningful, authentic personalities and hopefully bring forth an entire generation worth of people who think similarly. That's one kind of an evolution, too.
I live in South Korea and sadly this video is true. Everyone is worried about the way they look. I see women and girls with mirrors looking in them all day long non-stop. It's sad. I see guys the same way!!!
yeah...i had thought korean men are handsom like k-pop stars. but i went to korea, i found this is wrong.most korean men have small and slanted eyes and big face unlike k-pop stars. i saw some handsom korean guys.but they were all look same.i think most korean guys with big eyes get plastic surgery.
I am just learning these days how plastic surgery is so big here. Like when you see videos on tv or youtube it one thing but when you actually live here and start to learn about it, its amazing and sad.
I told my mom I wanted a nose job. She stopped what she was doing, looked right at me & said "why would you do anything to your beautiful face? Your nose fits your face perfectly, alot of people would love to have your natrual beauty & pay for what u have NATRUALLY! What is wrong with you girl ?" LMFAO! This vid me realize how amazing my mommy is..
The sad part of this is that all of their plastic surgery to look beautiful will take a turn when they begin to age. They will not age gracefully! Just take a look at the American stars who are a hot mess now that they are older. And besides, their children will not inherit their plastic surgery looks, but their genetic code looks.
+Lisa Brown I've always agreed on this point. Once some one gets extensive work done, it will make the aging process must worse. Therefore, people go back for more surgery and eventually things can look really bad.
Yeah I completely agree with you! A couple who's had plastic surgery should not be surprised when their kid looks completely different from their plastic faces. :(
+Lisa Brown Sorry, but have you see how Korean women age? LOL They stay beautiful FOREVERRRRRR! My best friend is from KoKo I tell her all the time how she started with good genes. She always says she'll finishe with AHA, copper peptides, lactic acid, and botox. In addition to water, water, water, and moisturizer. The whole mindset is different. People take better care of themselves. :3
The thing is, Korean plastic surgery is much much different than American surgery. American PS is usually contained of people overdoing botox procedures. Korean PS focuses on changing the actual bone structure.
Sad how people always try to change other people's mind or think it's wrong. NO if they want plastic surgery then let them. Its not on you to decide. It is really really common in Korea to do so why we have to say its wrong?? No that is just wrong. Let everybody decide what they want.
Sara Olara Yes you can always have an opinion. Freedom of speech. But what I mean is that people can not decide for other people that what they are doing is wrong. What you might think is stupid is your perception. You can say whatever you want although some people have to learn that you can not decide what is the best and what is the right thing to do plastic surgery or not. Let everyone think for themselves and let people decide. If people want plastic surgery that is not wrong by definition.
***** SHALLOW??? Are you from the US? At least they admit getting plastic surgery, everyone in Hollywood claims they don't, then they turn up looking like clowns with big lips, hard boobs, and a fake ass! "WHO ME, I NEVER HAD SURGERY!" BULLSHIT
Adrian, you know that's not true. There are way more mediocre/completely untalented people who are placed in groups just because they look good e.g. Yoona (SNSD), Dara (2NE1) Uee (After School) etc. There are so many. I feel bad for the kids that will look themselves in the mirror and think they're ugly because they got their parent's pre-plastic surgery face. It's very sad when ppl go to such extremes.
There are a lot of kpop stars who don't have the talent. But, i don't believe Dara is one of them... I admit, her voice isn't as outstanding as others, but there is a reason why she grew to be so popular and win a singing show in the Philippines. She can sing, just not as well as people like Taeyeon or Bom. But, yeah. I saw a documentary about Korean students and they talk about the stress they receive and how they basically think plastic surgery is a norm. It's terrible.
babyyneekyy dara didn't win a singing contest but a talent show ( i mean more on acting but singing+dancing were included as well) and i agree, she's talented, she even has the most number of kpop celebrity fanboys and i don't think her being beautiful is the only reason for that. and out of the three mentioned above, Dara is the only one who was able to have her own korean single and a duet with other k-artist (GD). aaand, she is all natural :)
abigail otero My bad! It's just that i've only watched her singing parts because i don't understand the rest lol. But i agree, Dara isn't just there for looks. For one, i believe that her personality is one of the cutest and best out of 2ne1! I think that when you compare some singers to others, obviously there will be one that is worse. But, that doesn't necessarily mean they are terrible at singing! And yes, Dara is 100% natural and she's so fricken beautiful! Especially in Missing You, her legs are amazing!!
It's really annoying to hear people put down idols like Dara, Sohee, Yoona, etc because you think that the only reason that they're in the group is because they look good which is probably one reason that they're in the group (but what's wrong with that you always need eye candy :D) but it's not the only reason. Sure Dara is not as good of a singer as Bom (I don't really think Bom is that great of a singer anyway) or Yoona isn't as good as Hyoyeon in dancing but Dara CAN sing and Yoona CAN dance they wouldn't be in the group if they were untalented/mediocre.
This is so disturbing the fact they are so 'okay' with it.. 'We are confident' wtf?! So basically beauty is the only thing that gives you confidence? and all the little girls that are their fans, is that the message all these kpop stars are sending them, if you're not skinny like a pole and don't have good looks no man will look at you twice?? and you will get no where in life basically.. WOW just watching this makes me feel so so sorry for them; what kind of lives they are living... the fact this is so common in South Korea... but still shocks me and upsets me deeply.. the lengths they go to, to make themselves seem 'perfect' no one is ever going to perfect.. We were all created with imperfections for a reason...Love that woman's artwork on how they lose their identity
***** This is wrong in so many ways.. Korea is known for moving forward at such a fast pace (economical and technological terms) but their thoughts and actions are moving back in time.. the modern world does not have this perception of happiness/success. Most recognised people in this world are known for their knowledge and influential power. There have been women who've changed the world for the better and looks were the last thing on their mind. If you have your own charm looks needn't be a problem but I suppose a nation so obsessed with beauty and perfection will look the other way or shun if you dare say such a thing.
Totally agree with you cause most Korean celebrities have at least 1 or 2 plastic surgery but when you look to their face they looks more natural compare to Hollywood celebrities who's surgery is clear and anyone can notice them.
Mello Carrier actually you CAN tell when they have double eye-lids and high nose ridges. In the USA mostly female Celebs get surgeries but it's more about losing weight or lifting the butt or getting bigger boobs. It is not a norm to completely change their face. Also in the USA, most of the celebs who change are female and white. They have very distinct features that if surgery was done to their face it is obvious (like Joan Rivers).
I can spot Korean plastic surgery incredibly easily. There is a certain eyeshape that many of the Kpop stars get that is a dead give away. The bad plastic surgery you're talking about is usually when people have had A LOT done, multiple procedures over multiple years. For example, the guy in this video who had multiple procedures and has had quite a lof of botox - I think looks bad, and its' very very noticable that he has had work done, especially the botox.
Strange! I always thought that Asians had the most beautiful eyes of all the human family. The bigger eye doesn't appear to change the actual shape but it makes them look like doll like.
A lot of Asians have natural double eyelids, actually. It's common in China, etc. (South) Koreans seem to have more people with monolids, so maybe that's why they're so obsessed.
i agree, almost like mass peer pressure... and who's gona love them if they can't love themselves? very sad Koreans... very sad and degrading to themselves.
Imagine if they told Freddie Mercury to have a plastic surgery and change his "rabbit" teeth. It is said that his voice was also affected by the shape of his jaw and his facial structure which helped with his amazing voice. For me, Freddie is one of my most respected artists (if not the most) because he was always dressing the way he liked and was always being himself. Freddie you are a legend
Okay so I'm Korean and proud, but to be honest, I think this crazy plastic surgery trend in Korea is a national disease. Korea's a very image-oriented country and I don't mind that but it's taking it too far. But yeah, our beauty standards are different from Western standards.
I think the biggest problem is that people lose their own individuality. Plastic surgery is basicly not a thing that is bad, if it makes you more confident about your look... but they shouldn't have to look like anybody else. For me, I'd like to look like a beautiful, esthetic kind of myself. Thats enough, I don'T want to completely change. But when someone ignores a talent because of look... that's unacceptable.
I don't find anything wrong with people getting surgery to look better. Some people are not born with beautiful genetic features, sometimes they look great after. Just like me, I have horrible crowded teeth so I got braces and it is helping with my confidence a lot. I think the real problem is that most people who get it have really strong self esteem issues. I don't blame them tho, with all the media showing beautiful girls they see in advertisements getting slammed down there throats. Its only a matter of time when they grow older and wiser that they will soon realize that their is more to life than looking beautiful on the outside to be happy. To accept and love oneself for who they are first is something surgery can never change.
+Journeyman Pictures I'm not saying Plastic surgery is a bad things. but you don't actually know weather all the idols shown in this video had plastic surgery or not.
im really late to this video, but i’d like to address some things as a korean myself. korea is known for having high numbers of its residents getting plastic surgery; mostly double eyelid surgery, rhinoplasty (nose job) and jaw reduction (or v line jaw surgery). this is because of the importance of beauty in korea’s society. anywhere from extensive skincare routines to expensive makeup to surgeries, korea promotes and accepts all forms of beauty, and often pressures others to change themselves to look like the ideal type. many ppl go on extreme diets as well. they will starve themselves until they are just skin and bone, bc then ppl will praise them for being so thin. beauty is so important in korean society and is often considered more important then being smart or talented. for example, say you’re applying for a job and you’re far more beautiful than any of the others applying for the same job, but aren’t as smart as them. you will most likely receive the interview and the job mainly bc of your looks bc customers are more attracted to businesses w nicer looking employees, like hooters lol. another thing korea’s will do is bleach their skin w creams, lotions, or “white tanning”, which doesn’t really whiten your skin, but instead removes any tan you have gotten and makes your skin its original color. this concept comes from dynasties a long time ago, where the upper class or the royal had fairer skin than the working class/poor bc they weren’t out in the sun as farmers. the color of you’re skin instantly told those around you how much you make, bc obviously sunscreen didn’t exist then. so the idea of whiter skin would indicate youth and wealth, and became apart of the ideal type, bc it was considered more beautiful and elegant
seems like this younger generation is so self obsessed, and it is happening in many countries. So much for teaching our kids that beauty comes from the inside.....
No matter how we want to judge that it is wrong to have plastic surgery or being so obsessed w/ beauty, I cannot really blame the individuals for not being grateful for their God-given body. It's part of their culture, and it's socially constructed. All I can do is just being grateful that I live in a place where beauty is not a center obsession that we can just be happy and grateful with our natural look.
I no im ugly ppl say it 2 me all my life but u no what IDGAF atleast I no who I am and I love myself 4 it& but bc I feel lyk that more ppl lyk me bc of the fact that I am tru 2 myself and and that other special person in ur life will come and love u 4 u if only more ppl realize that FYI: im an ugly mexican SUPOSEDLY lol
Of course all of those ladies who have gotten plastic surgery are very beautiful but they all look the exact same. They have taken away their uniqueness of their culture and turned into carbon copies. I've always thought that Asian eyes are so beautiful. I've watched alot of Geisha documentaries and all of the Geishas are so very beautiful with their natural face and their vivid makeup. I think that it's sad how the young korean people think bechase of the k-pop influence.
Okay, so I'm only 4 minutes into this video, but I think Hwain looks pretty already without the surgery. I've always thought the unique eye characteristics that a lot of Asians are born with is pretty on girls and cute on the guys. Just my opinion, but I know most people always feel that there is something that could be fixed about their physical appearance.
Eun Jeong So created the works and I cannot find a 2014 exhibition venue. The search engines in English hit repeatedly on the 2011 show. One source says that she is a creative director in London. My hat is off to her. I wish this video had a longer survey of her work.
We all look different, if we all looked the same with same color hair, same color skin, same eye color we would be boring. Every body's look is beautiful and we should all not look the same! Whether you're blonde, red hair, brown hair, black hair, or whether you're fair skinned, olive skinned, brown skinned, black skinned, or flippin yellow skinned! We are all beautiful regardless of our ethnicity. People stop putting a label on beauty. How people want to look is all up to them, just saying this be a world filled with people of the same boring look.
This is just so sad. Kpop ents must not tolerate plastic surgery on Kpop stars. It made everyone esp in Korea feel INSECURE AND OBSESS of getting the same facial features. Its just making me hate Kpop, Im a Kpop fanboy since 2007 BUT THIS FACT, Its just ugh-.-
I think you should grow up and start to love yourself instead of doing plastic surgery. I did it. Everyone is unique. And that's the beauty of being human.
i feel so bad for these people. In some other inteview one asian girl said she wanted to have white features. This world is full of billions of people. If everyone wants to look like some famous person it is sad and show how selfish we are that we are not satisfied with what we have.In this world there is someone prettier, taller, shorter, uglier, whatever than you but there is nobody like you.If you try changing who you are because u feel bad about it or u want to be "happy" then u are looking for the wrong thing.Happiness comes from the heart not the boobs or facial features
I don't understand why? Some of them look pretty to me even before surgery. I have nothing against plastic surgery but why some would want to have a 'look alike' face when they are born uniquely beautiful already? Take a look at the Miss Korea contestants...they are all pretty but...I really couldn't tell them apart at all...
im sorry but i cant see the difference b/w them and the celebrities or the before and after surgeries. why change your face for maybe minor differences. Thats crazy. I dont understand why eye surgery is so desired. to look white? but no matter what you do to your eyes you will always be korean and you will always look korean just like if i die my hair blond I would still be mixed and i will still look it so just learn to see your own beauty. its cheaper and healthier.
South Korea is totally obsessed with "beauty", to the point where men's cosmetics counters in department stores take up to hundreds of square feet of floor space, and women's 2-3x as much.
Because the difference between 'beautiful' and 'ugly' is not such huge. A little difference can make you look different. But I think many people don't know what their problems are. Like that girl have double eye-lids surgery. Her problem is her jaw and cheekbone not her eyes.
This really is no different than the Disney Machine here in the US. Procuring young and talented (or not so talented) people to groom and sell to the masses is big business. Creating a look and a style that is practically unattainable is also big business. So long as there is a huge profit to be made by creating these music and lifestyle brands, the process will continue. And then, the people of the world will realize that while they've been pacified by this pop and media bullshit, it will have been as if their governments slipped them a mickey and changed all the rules while they were asleep. No more face lifts, no more plane trips. (I didn't intend that to rhyme, but it sounded kind of cool!)
I find this sad, people should be happy with who they are. Doing this, they are erasing who they are. Its not wrong but I would find it disappointing. This is how they manipulate all the young low self-esteem girls and boys out there.
i agree with you. it is very sad the beauty is on the inside and their beautiful without plastic surgery. and true they do manipulate young girls and guys with low self esteem and low confidence. it is really sad. :(
Our society is too much fixated on our outer beauty. There is nothing wrong with wanting to look good. Everyone has that urge. But when do we value our physical self worth more than our actual self worth? When do we stop receiving self happiness and gratification from our own mind and soul and instead look in the mirror to see if we are happy enough?
Welcome to South Korea. It's all the rave for plastic surgery and to bathe in bleach to take out Twinkie yellow skin away. Proud to be an American for making a traditional family, where as South Korea, most want trophy wives or husbands, that isn't love unless that is what you worship.
The boy at 9:18 had such a handsome face, so defined with character and chiseled and now he looks fucked up. I'm guessing he's probably gay, which is awesome, but anyone would love his before plastic face than the face he has now. Not only did the procedures effect him physically, but he has a skewed look on reality. I hope he will realize that down the road. Feel sad when he begins to age.
I wonder what happens to the people who had done plastic surgery when they grow old :o Will their appearance start falling apart (not talking about wrinkles)?
This makes me sad. Seeing that one girl hwain saying she hoping she'll look beautiful after the surgery. She was beautiful just the way she was. If she was my daughter it would hurt to know my little girl feels she's ugly. :'( I mean if you really want plastic surgery for you that's great but it broke my heart that she felt she wasn't pretty enough before. :(
I don't think plastic surgery is wrong. I see it as a more permanent way of doing make up. But I think it should be used to boost confidence or enhance your own personal beauty. Not used to make most woman look the same. I honestly can't tell the difference between so many female singers/actresses anymore. They look the same. But the thing is you see predebut pics and they are still beautiful but have their own beauty. They are not made up to look like one ideal girl. I think that even if you do get surgery, they need to do it for themselves not for others. Many girls get it so guys will want them and vise versa, But guy's/girl's that will only look at you if you look like that disgust me. But you see male idols who are asked their ideal type and they always say a snsd member or a cute, small faced, bagel girl type (usually). Makes me really sad because they are the ones feeding into all the girls wanting to change and look better so they can appeal to the opposite sex.
I agree. I think is sad that society has developed a lack of appreciation and value to the unique appearance of every human being. I don't see people through the filter of the beauty standards anymore, now I see with my own eyes and I stoped give much importance to the looks but the person, the being.
I think changing some not so great part of your face to make yourself look better is fine. But changing everything to the point that you look like a completely different person is like ruining your own identity and become a member of the soulless army of doll. Everybody like the way you look but nobody (probably including your spouse ) respect you as a valuable individual, because there are many more that are almost the same. Thus, You make yourself expendable
I am a Korean guy, and.. it's too sad.. many young boys and girls focusing only on how they look.. Plastic surgery needs to be used well to the very people who's in serious need. eg. face burn with fire etc.. Every society has problems but Korea needs to grow up.. grown-up doctors stopping making money out of the youngsters.
In Korea they find talented kids and try to make them "more beautiful" in the US they find beautiful kids and try to make them "talented"
SOOOOOO TRUE
Mika Marie Tf, you can't make someone more talented. You are born with one, but you can improve.
ToxicTrash Bts you can ,the msot people could sing if they practiced enough
I couldn't have said it better
ToxicTrash Bts Kim SeokJin was recruited for his natural good look but he had no experience/interest/talent. He improve along the way now he’s awesome so yes you can, if you are dedicated enough.
i have huge respect for that singer who refused get plastic surgery
+bhavininath Yeah but it's so sad that she has to perform in some dingy basement.
+Angel Eyes lol
I think rabbit teeth are cute.
if she made good music she'd be performing at madison square garden, i mean we had some real uggos up there before (iggy pop)
wander why Korean and Chinese wants look like Westerner?
prostitution. they make massive money oversea as prostitutes,
while spreading HIV.
"I like my face" is such a great sentence to hear someone say... Why do we live in a society in which you are told to "walk with confidence" but god forbid you ever show any kind of satisfaction with the way you look, unless you want to be considered 'vain' or 'shallow'. Its important to teach young girls and boys and anyone between that its good and healthy to love your body, and it is okay to talk about it.
haha in the western world is more common to hear: I don't give a fuck about my face!
Not when others have to be cursed with bodies and faces they hate, it’s disrespectful to boast about your good fortune
,,ever show any kind of satisfaction with the way you look"
You cant make money with satisfaktion..
@@aikaterineillt9876 There is nothing wrong with liking your features and it is not bragging to say there are features about yourself that you like. If that triggers someone's insecurity then that's on them.
If you like plastic surgery
I respect it
If you're against plastic surgery
I respect it
If you like wearing makeup
I respect it
If you dislike makeup in general
I respect it
I will respect other people's opinions because if you think about plastic surgery and makeup, it makes someone feel more confident within themselves if you dislike plastic surgery and your makeup free then you are STILL BEAUTIFUL!
Much love to all of you
+Cachetito Frijolito the best comment I have read today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Glad u think so!!
+Cachetito Frijolito When this is happening to someone you love like your daughter then you'll have something to say other than "I RESPECT IT."
+Angel Eyes you know, i honestly don't care. As long as she/he is happy
Don't you have your opinion though? Sitting on the fence tends to hurt your crotch in the long run.
Why dont hollywood stars go to Korea to get their faces done? It looks like Korea surgeons does a better job than the U.S.
+Khadija Newell You've only seen the successful surgeries. Only God knows how the botched ones came out. . .Triple eyelid
Angel Eyes Lol
+Khadija Newell most celebrities in the US do it because of aging, not to change their natural appearance.
+TickleMeShlomo Ever heard of a nose job? You're not even aware of a lot of plastic surgery that is done because when it's done right it's hard to pick up on without before and after shots and you're kidding yourself if you think that it's just done when celebrities are older.
ikr
Celebrity worship is also getting ridiculous in USA
i know right
Getting?
It's been that way for ages!
Getting?
It's been that way for ages!
+extremelyhappysimmer Maybe the mother went under the knife herself before…
i wouldn't be surprised.
+julosx Possibly (the mother is a very good looking woman), but her eyes definitely have not been done and I don't see any evidence of other work.
+George Ford To be honest with you, I don"'t really think either that she has any job done, neither do I think that a lot of women of her generation are into it.
this kind of mindset doesnt happen overnight. if her daughter's generation feels that way then the parent's generation must have at least shared that sentiment.
She's pretty already. no need for surgery.
+prisma328 this is what i was thinking during the video
Iagree,they are very pretty!
prisma328 , if she can be prettier, why not.
it show how ungrateful she is even though she already pretty naturally than most people..
just because you think she's pretty, doesn't mean that she doesn't need to get surgery
Preach!
AMEN!!
You used to think Asian eyes were cool looking? Thanks, I take that as a compliment. :P
Baka Life I think they are beautiful, too.
Baka Life
Yep! I thought they were awesome! :D
Maybe you got tons of Asian friends and probably felt like you needed to look like them. Now you're probably feeling blessed seeing that so many Asian women want to have your eyes.
Baka Life
In my country some young girls do make up to make their eyes look more Asian :) It is not racist either, they just admire that beauty.
is it just me or are korean plastic surgeons much better than western surgeons
These are very young 18+ kids in this video. In America, most people don't get plastic surgery until they are starting to show signs of aging 40ish or more.
+Kraye Inluv Where are you from in the US? These are probably affluent teenagers in Korea. And in affluent areas in the USA, kids get plastic surgery too. The big one is the nose job. Also chin work. And add in lipo to that. You may get the idea it is just done in older folks because it's more noticeable when it is done.
Khukei Nope
No. The video is already a testimony that Asian are bad at beauty.
More people getting surgeries = more practice ...usually more practice = better
I myself am a Korean-American and it's just sad to see how young people are over there and I thought young people in the US were bad lol.
it's really sad. I agree with everything you said.
You don't have to be a bodybuilder, they have a category of their own.
have to sadly agree too
And I thought America had it bad.
Cory Chung awesome point u made. My country is hecka diverse and i love all the differences
Bloody hell......they have lost their identity's. Bravo to the people who love themselves and don't fall victim to the social expectations.
There is always two sides I guess.....
ROBLOXobama1337
How long it last? 10 years at most?
"When the dweller of Heaven enter heaven .announcer will call:(You have a promise from Allah that) you will live therein and you will never die; you will stay healthy therein and you will never fall ill;you will stay young and you will never become old, you will be under a constant bliss and you will never feel miserable."
Study from Qur'an 3:15-16 : Any enjoyment you could imagine about this world whether it's beauty, wealth, having a nice car,houses... anything you could imagine.. what Allah has prepared in paradise for you is much better and last forever!
ROBLOXobama1337 thats dumb
"Constantly being told she isn't good enough...?" WHO SAYS THIS TO ANY CHILD OR YOUNG WOMAN?!?
Agree with you. It also brainwashes man to think what women are supposed to look like. I get stupid comments when I don't fit my opinion about women along with the official mass media view.
Atticus Denzil not every woman looks like the woman in mass media thats all make up and pothoshop. but there is nothing wrong with wanting a gf with a slim waist and not to be obese if you workout yourself well also and do everything to look slim and fit.
pascal desjardins
of course not and neither did i say it was :/
my point however is that there's nothing wrong for people to simply have their own personal preferences that don't fit or match any television approved standards
i am not taking merely weight into account when i am saying this (personally don't like overweight)
Those of you who believe that some of these kpop celebs had nothing done just because they said so or u read it off a news source, YOU ARE TOO GULLIBLE!
actually its rarely even spoken about anywhere even if it is quite obvious
im reading all these comments and ppl r getting mad and upset for no reason.
I understand completely but some people just aren't ready to accept the truth....they're delusional and one day they'll get over it and some won't. thats just how people are.
well said
they are mad because if they admit it then they have to admit they are lusting after someone who isn't that gorgeous and whom didn't get that way naturally thus must be inferior in some way. Or god forbid simply ugly without surgery.
They all think they were so ugly before, but I would kill for their flawless skin.
Aleesha ikr 😃
try their 10 step skin care :D No, im not joking its actually 10 steps...
@@nyltiac169 I remember trying 10steps and 1 step my skin is still the same 😂. I think it is in their genes to have beautiful skin.
I remember when I used to teach at a Korean girls middle school, the girls would talk about the surgery they would get when they finished high school. It saddened me because so many of them felt they were not beautiful and so many of them wanted to change their appearance from a young age.
Chanel Brown I Korean girl in my class received plastic surgery as a gift from her parents -.- shocked the hell out of me
I wonder if they're aware that Westerners find them naturally adorable.
Yes but in America, a lot of women try to enlarge their butts as well as boobs
@@kestrelraptorial689 Westerners will wanna date an asian girl and say Fuck china go back to your own country in the same breath
At least I know I'm ugly in Korea 😂😂😂

lol I'm ugly in every country. I didn't need this video to tell me that I'm ugly in Korea.
They're all gonna look like Michael Jackson if they don't chill out...
Oh look, another person who makes fun of people for having a disease.
Kyou_ssi The I have too much money and low self esteem disease?
I'm not surprised people really believe everything the media tells them. I'm assuming you believed that he bleached his skin and got surgery to look 'good'? You knew nothing about the disease there are multiple interviews of him into depth about?
Kyou_ssi you are so naive
You're a sexy beast
I agree you don´t look good :P
This makes me sad :( Why can't people be happy with what they have?
there is no sense of contentment anymore.
Fringes TRUE DAT
It not how the world is anymore people always say I like natural looks yet the call people ugly forcing people to struggle with identity and confidence
people are stupid and weak.
It's because they got that "it's my body and I can do whatever I want" mentality.
Make one called "I want a Kim K Butt: N. America's Bizarre Surgery Trend"
Thanks.
Whoever is reading this, you are beautiful. Don't think about what you don't like about yourself, we all have insecurities. Think about what you love about yourself, do you really wanna he made into a clone of every other person?
This is so sad on so many levels.
As an Asian so ashamed of these losers that I'm ready to bury my head in the mud!!
Roxidius
Oh don't let them make you feel that way- they don't represent the entire Asian race luckily ;)
MrDanceobssesesme
I know I know :) as I said in m comment above ;)
I love the square jawline on a man! Why would he want that changed? I don't understand Korean esthetics.
This is sad. But, Honestly if I had the money I'd probably do it also.
Cat Peach us bitches want to look like Kim k so there ya go
I have to money yet I still won't do it.
_SweetBlood _ tell that to hijabis who wear makeup.
_SweetBlood _ OK the eyebrow thing is just extreme
well, im asian and in my last year of high school. im lucky to have been naturally born with double eyelids, so looks like i can get a different graduation present. maybe something useful like using the money for this operation to PAY FOR MY COLLEGE
Same here, I'm really grateful. My graduation trip is to travel around the world! *high five*
Everyone wants to feel beautiful
Julie Paterson , they call it self improvement. We, The humans, work in this direction our whole life. Go girls
@@zelmiracholevova184 I'm all for self improvement, but as far as I'm concerned, it's all about wellbeing and self acceptance. We seem to be focusing more and more on enhancement rather than improvement.
In America it's more about the body I think. Breast surgery is overused.
SKULLxSNAPS amen
The world is getting weirder and weirder by the day
I feel bad for the girl thinking she's not pretty, but that's just a phase of life. All girls think that while going through that age or "stage" of life. WE ALL DO. It's just a little upsetting that she has to get surgery to feel pretty :( She's beautiful just the way she was before, nothing is wrong with her eyes...
I think this is insane. Koreans (and east Asians in general) are beautiful people. Be proud of who and what you are.
Jitka Kenjová i agree... why v chin is pretty? i know they like it but i don't ...and european guys (for example) has stronger features lol
It's no different in Hollywood. The difference is Koreans are open about it.
sgcl10658 that's true. Hollywood stars are also imperfect as we normal ppl are... they also do plastic surgery etc and most of the teenagers think they are damn perfect... we should see the before-after, not the fake beauty... jeez this whole thing is so messed up.
Did you just assume we South Asians are not beautiful!@
Don't gain self confidence through plastic surgeries, gain it through accepting your natural look. It's harder but it's worth it.
Not everyone's natural look is considered beautiful though. And as long as we live alongside others who have features that are considered to be more attractive, it won't change. Everyone wants to feel beautiful after all, and that is achieved by comparing yourself to the ideal beauty standard.
How can people have confidence when others say your ugly or they don't consider you it's all about your looks. Cruel but that's the unfortunate truth
@@luskaneseprince is it really a social construct or product I natural selection?
That's one kind of an evolution, too.
much respect for that young singer who likes herself the way she is
Agreed!
i prefer an average korean girl than... this. every celeb in s.korea looks the same IMO.
(coming from an korean)
I find the girl of that band so cool!! Its so admirable :'3
which girl of what band?
Jessica Jung Did you watch all the video?lol
Mewa C I did but there are multiple girl groups in here.
Jessica Jung Theres only one band that has one singer on the video lol
Mewa C Girl's Generation
Aliee
and a bunch of other female artist I can't remember the name of in this video.
I live in South Korea and sadly this video is true. Everyone is worried about the way they look. I see women and girls with mirrors looking in them all day long non-stop. It's sad. I see guys the same way!!!
agree with you. Why they just can't accept what God gives them.
yeah...i had thought korean men are handsom like k-pop stars.
but i went to korea, i found this is wrong.most korean men have small
and slanted eyes and big face unlike k-pop stars.
i saw some handsom korean guys.but they were all look same.i think most korean guys with big eyes get plastic surgery.
Maybe she didn't want to spend the money
The sad part of this is that all of their plastic surgery to look beautiful will take a turn when they begin to age. They will not age gracefully! Just take a look at the American stars who are a hot mess now that they are older. And besides, their children will not inherit their plastic surgery looks, but their genetic code looks.
+Lisa Brown I've always agreed on this point. Once some one gets extensive work done, it will make the aging process must worse. Therefore, people go back for more surgery and eventually things can look really bad.
.
If only their souls can get plastic surgery
12:17 I like her rabbit teeth! She is really cute, how could you want her to change.
That awkward moment when it's been 5 or 6 years since you got into K-pop and it's the first time you're hearing of Purplay...
Exactly same
Sad how people always try to change other people's mind or think it's wrong. NO if they want plastic surgery then let them. Its not on you to decide. It is really really common in Korea to do so why we have to say its wrong?? No that is just wrong. Let everybody decide what they want.
Hey you're right it IS their choice. Just like it is my choice to say it's stupid and shallow.
YOU MIGHT BE RIGHT, BUT WE HAVE ISSUES TOO, LIVE AND LET LIVE!
Love this! I completely agree!
Especially in Missing You, her legs are amazing!!
yes but Dara never did cs :)
I have no problem with people doing plastic surgery I have a problem with the bullying of those who choose not to conform.
Totally agree with you cause most Korean celebrities have at least 1 or 2 plastic surgery but when you look to their face they looks more natural compare to Hollywood celebrities who's surgery is clear and anyone can notice them.
Yeah, it seems like the Korean surgeons are much more skilled.
I wonder how it started. western media? japanese cartoons?
Now that you mention it....Wow!
Korean eyes are so fking small LOL
@Lemon Lee but asian eyes are so beautiful and charming....pfffff:(
A lot of Asians have natural double eyelids, actually. It's common in China, etc. (South) Koreans seem to have more people with monolids, so maybe that's why they're so obsessed.
truly disturbing that these young people feel pressured that they have to go under the knife to fit in,so sad.
i agree, almost like mass peer pressure... and who's gona love them if they can't love themselves? very sad Koreans... very sad and degrading to themselves.
i am german, but i think that asian people are more beautifull than german ones
so i cant understand why they are not confident with themselves
That why those girls come to US n live happily ever after cuz noone gives a shit how they look in US lol
The indie band girl is so cute, awh, hahah! "I like my face!"
"because i like my face" my heart just melted ♥
the most positive line in the whole show "i like my face"
What Korean kids truly need is an attitude makeover, NOT plastic surgery.
this is sick. how will we ever learn to love ourself
+Priyanka Shilewant eastern asians are whites wannabe. They think the whiter the better.
yes i know.. it was hard for me to accept how iam and be proud to be different. so this made me sad again..
+Priyanka Shilewant but you don't live in korea right? I asume you're Indian, is the same bullshit there?
some were forced to do ps bcs of the judgemental people in their society. But if i were her, i wont do that, imma just lose weight lmao
:D. Losing weight is healthy. If not at least exercise is
I wonder if Asian countries know other people around the world get surgery to look like them.
Nobody wants to be ugly
***** what a stupid comment full of nonsense.
Those are very very few.
It was only that guy...
Bettyboohoo Boo probably not, but that was ONE guy, wasn't it?
Follow Journeyman Pictures on Instagram - instagram.com/journeymanpictures
The dude looked More Manly before the surgery but now he looks kinda.. you know strange.
Just cauz people's faces change every week doesnt mean its only because of plastic surgery. There is something called make-up!
MAKE UP.... ?? LOL
KISS MY ASS..
Savero Drunky Meh, someone who have seen a woman do makeup before will know what i am saying.
seems like this younger generation is so self obsessed, and it is happening in many countries. So much for teaching our kids that beauty comes from the inside.....
6:00 that sticker is magical!
No wonder I could never distinguish among k pop stars ,I don't Kno but all of them look same to me😂
I no im ugly ppl say it 2 me all my life but u no what IDGAF atleast I no who I am and I love myself 4 it& but bc I feel lyk that more ppl lyk me bc of the fact that I am tru 2 myself and and that other special person in ur life will come and love u 4 u if only more ppl realize that FYI: im an ugly mexican SUPOSEDLY lol
The art works at about 8:30 are really awesome.
Eun Jeong So created the works and I cannot find a 2014 exhibition venue. The search engines in English hit repeatedly on the 2011 show. One source says that she is a creative director in London. My hat is off to her. I wish this video had a longer survey of her work.
don fitzsimons ah that's her name, thanks very much! I agree, she deserves a video all of her own.
F
OMG, I LOVE YOUR COMMENT.
Clio A OMG
maybe that's why they are having plastic surgery... cuz 2 billion people looks exactly like them... lmao
Dragon oh I get what you mean lol I didn't get it at first.
I pity these people. the only 'surgery' I would consider is exercise an hour a day.
these doctors are making a killing off of people's low self esteem
Yeah, how dare they make money off insecurity...what planet do you live on. So what?
wow u took the time to write that sarcastic remark...guess that makes you intelligent huh?
Koreans would kill for double eyelids while Alot of Filipinos desire single eyelids . wtf asia brah ?
Double eyelids? I just kill for an American woman, not these products of fashion.
This is just so sad. Kpop ents must not tolerate plastic surgery on Kpop stars. It made everyone esp in Korea feel INSECURE AND OBSESS of getting the same facial features. Its just making me hate Kpop, Im a Kpop fanboy since 2007 BUT THIS FACT, Its just ugh-.-
watching this in 2013 with no knowledge of kpop and watching this 6 years later as a full blown kpop fan...wow your perspective really changes
Chemical Pilots Phanicking About Bangtan :D How did your opinions change?
Personally i like natural beauty.
Mom sure was gorgeous without surgery..
OMG WATAMOTE!
and yes I agree with you
Nobody gives a shit about what you like. Everyone has their preferences.
God given beauty is de best
I think you should grow up and start to love yourself instead of doing plastic surgery. I did it. Everyone is unique. And that's the beauty of being human.
changing the outside won't change the ugliness inside.
But to be fair, there are jobs you can get just by being pretty and people are nicer to you...
i feel so bad for these people.
What I'm curious about is how is their personality and how they are mentally after the plastic surgeries?
But they looked ok before
the girl in the beginning getting her double eyelid was already nice she didn't need surgery
poor things. they only want to have eyelids.
+mylastname .wasdumb lol, hahahahaha omg I don't know why I found this so funny!
ellokittyca me too i am dying here
The comment is hilarious OMG
Double eyelid surgery is absurd its unnessesary
Lol
Lmao XD
im sorry but i cant see the difference b/w them and the celebrities or the before and after surgeries. why change your face for maybe minor differences.
They are white
Because the difference between 'beautiful' and 'ugly' is not such huge. A little difference can make you look different. But I think many people don't know what their problems are. Like that girl have double eye-lids surgery. Her problem is her jaw and cheekbone not her eyes.
'To look white' *laughs* lol, nope. Just to make eyes look bigger and dolly.

They want to look like Caucasians
I agree with you.
When a mom says u need surgery to be prettier there is something sad and wrong. They all have the same face. Creepy.
Yeah it does.
yes and no, there is good plastic surgeons in korea, if you have good father then no but yes if ur father's work is cheap
lmao did Purplay succeed in becoming the "next bigbang"?
Would you accept if your girfriend had PS ? I just wondering
hahah lets just all put paper bags over our heads and get to really know each other xD .. that would be nice..
K-Pop is all about superficiality, no substance just fodder
