Thank you so much for sharing your journey. Ive been working two jobs since 2022 where I essentially everyday to get out of my debt $20,000. I’m down to $5,000. It feels good to know there are other people on the same journey trying to achieve the same goal. You can do it!!! It’s gonna suck for a while but if you stay focused you’ll come out stronger than before. I believe in you ❤

First off I enjoy watching videos like yours. I’d like to tell you to get rid off all the cards you have. Credit one and avant- are predatory lenders and you get extra fees cuz they give credit cards to people with bad credit. So close them when you pay them off and don’t use them. Also, for transparency, I have a 780 credit score BUT I’m also in $30k of credit card debt but I’m in the process of paying it off. Started around $52k

Thank you for being transparent. It helps. I got into credit card trouble. 2008 forced me to live on the cash from work only. All CC were closed by the banks. I still had to pay them. When I finished paying them, and CC’s were back in fashion, i only got 1. And pay it off the balance every month.

Try not to be so hard on yourself about going into debt to survive. My parents are from El Salvador, and we also grew up low income. They did what they had to do to feed their family. The dental stuff is so real. Dental bills were a recurring subject in my house growing up. Were all doing ok now. Hi Lee. I’m new to your channel so you may have already talked about doing all this. I highly recommend getting a budget in place. I would highly recommend The Budget Mom. She has lots of free resources to help you setup a budget. A budget is definitely step 1! I too am on a debt free journey. You can do this. Consistency is key. I think with your balances, I would start with the debt snowball method. Can you get on a payment plan with the dental bill and is it accruing interest? If it’s interest free I would work out a payment plan and put that money to a credit card (lowest balance one) for the debt snowball. Looking forward to following along your journey. You can do this!!!

      @leeunfiltered  18 дней назад +1

Anyways.. sorry for my last comment.. I am just shocked at the amount of credit card lines you have ..
Regardless.. I was in big debt and got rid of 10,000 In just 3 months + got a few thousands in my savings account.
I started budgeting and stopped eating out..
My approach was very hard.. everything I had left after my budgeting was going into the highest credit card.
I also transferred to a no interest credit card the debt from another one. Which I am about to pay off soon.. and I would go from 15k credit card debt to 5k.
Wish I could have done it sooner but I also started paying $1.2k a month for health insurance recently so I am trying to adjust things financially here..

Order your cards by balance. Start with lowest, make heavy payments on it while making minimum payments on others. When its paid off, move on to the next. Do all this while living poorer than your income. Cancel all unneeded subscriptions, cook at home, find cheap entertainment at home, whatever it takes. Others might not like your lifestyle...Oh well, its your life and you make your decisions.
Your total debt is not crazy amount. I don't know your income, so I know its relative, but if you follow a sound plan, you can be out of debt in no time. I had about $40,000 in debt and paid it off in about 3 years, doing my normal 9-5 job, and door dashing nights and weekends. Ended up working like 80 hour weeks. It's not the only way, but that's what I did. Once I paid off my debt, I backed way off on door dash...like maybe 5-10 hours per week, just enough for some pocket change.

If you keep relying on credit cards, you will forever be owing money. Trust me, I owed $30K when I was 60 and had zero saved for retirement - it sucks! What would happen if you went totally scorched earth for a year to pay off all your debt? Sell the jewelry and anything else you can get a few bucks for, hold off on dental work, sell the car, eat one meal a day, get another job, delay cosmetology school until you can pay cash. It sounds mean, but the sooner you get rid of debt you will feel so much better!

This is tough. I’ve definitely made poor financial decisions in the past. Especially before I understand how credit works. Try calling the credit card companies and ask them if they can lower your balance or interest rate to help you pay it off quicker. Pay off the smallest so you can see progress and add that amount to your next one. Cut them up and close them as you pay them off.

Not sure if you can do NJ it, but spend less, just focus on medical expenses and buy from goodwill. Goodwill has good stuff and the fleamarket, garage sales. What do you want or need in life?

Those are some high interest CC's you're constantly rolling balances on. Paying high interest on balances because you fail to pay off what you used is a complete waste of money.
I get that you may have to live on your CC's but then that means you NEED to get realistic on your wants vs. your needs. You need to write down and make it real what you spend your money on and really start eliminating the garbage. Once you write down dollar for dollar your expenses you will see the waste. Living in credit card debit can drive your blood pressure through the roof and the sad thing is you have utilized your CC's to the max and have nothing in available credit. You're broke and you have no safety net in your CC's either.
Honey, you need a reality check.

I owe 3.3k gbp, borrowed 5.8k gbp - I am unemployed and I been paying off repayments of 160 since last year.
Once I get some job again, will be paid in no time.

Good news, you don't have that much debt. Bad news, your credit score is bad because of maxing out credit cards. Good news, if you have not missed payments (30 days late), then as you are making large payments to kill the debt, your credit score will rise fast. You can go real fast from a not great credit score of 650 to a very good score of 760 once the debt is paid off.
