I can't speak for everyone, but I change out my decor with the seasons. Big furniture purchases I only change out as needed. (If it breaks, or is messed up beyond repair). But, I also tend to repair/DIY things as much as possible. I like to change things quite often. I clean every single day, but deep clean once a month. I don't have small children, so I don't have as much to be done.
What an awesome mom you are! Such a beautiful room for two beautiful girls. Congratulations on the birth of your son.
When I brought my daughter home from the hospital (54 years ago!), I was so scared by the fact that she was totally dependent on me. I worried if I’d be able to keep her alive. (My mother died during my pregnancy) Finally, I told myself, “Shirley, you’ve been to college! Cave women kept their babies alive!” We both survived, as did my son two years later.

Hi, Michelle! I've been caretaking for gma (95 w/dementia) by myself and clearing out her hoarding house for an exhausting 3+ years of my life.
I went from being a minimalist living in a very clean & clutter-free home, to a giant hoarding house with 70+ years of vintage "treasure" & crap to sort.
PACKED TO THE GILLS.
I feel like a wilted flower. (esp because I haven't had a break, morning, afternoon, evening, weekend, etc to myself for the entire 3yrs)
Now that her house is EMPTY and I've finally gotten some help (my mother moved in!) I can focus more on my little ADU we built in her yard. We finished 6 months ago yet I haven't had time to deep clean or organize ANY of my enclosed spaces!!
Spending sooo much of my physical and emotional energy on my dementia patient AND her home--then suddenly having time on my hands...I've kinda forgotten how I used to live and what I used to like to do. I forgot how much I actually love cleaning/organizing my spaces.
This channel is really nice for motivation not only to care for myself again- but also my sanctuary!

I just finished doing my bedroom now I have moved on to doing my backyard there is a stall to it because of the shed and an unacceptable amount of trash that needs to go to the tip, and your daughter trying to help was just so adorable this home has turned out sensationally!!!!

You have truly inspired me to get my butt busy! On my days off i used to relax after the long hours but now i spend them actually enjoying cleaning, organizing, and even crafting. Thank you so much!
Do their baths a little earlier and use Epsom salts with lavender in it. And pour warm water over their backs. Hopefully that will help them to relax.
Spray lavender on the pillow cases.
Then read a couple of stories and maybe a couple of songs. This helped me with the kids. I hope it works for you

Please take my advice, if you're going to remedy your laundry room and do all this wonderful work especially put in new flooring please upgrade your rubber water hoses to the washing machine to stainless steel hoses! They are far more durable not much more expensive and less likely to ever leak. Same goes for bathroom renovations. ❤

I think what you do to make room for the new babyboy is great. The girls Will love this shared room for several years. When I was expecting my third child .. my second child who was a 4 year old boy at the time had to share a room with his two year older sister …he swore to move out if the new baby wasn’t a boy. It turned out the be a girl!! So he embraced being the brother and caring fir his two sisters. He was less thrilled to share room with my fourth child… who was a boy. !😅they turned out to be best buddies as well.

Start winding down two hours before needed. Chamomile tea is good for you and relaxing. If a child doesn't see enough of you, they'll push to be awake with you. Read and spend time earlier...😘

I got a new couch about 5 years ago. I to have a dog and he lay on it, so I have blankets on it to keep it nice and I have many different colors blankets to change with. I have live in my house eleven years, but I tend to move my furniture around at least 4 times a year. I have some furniture and other things I had all my life and a few things I will change if they should break. Sometimes when I throw something away I will find something else in the dumpster, that I can renovate and use in my house or garden. Every other year or so I will take a little trip to IKEA and get new stuff like small carpets, towels and shower curtain..
Here in Denmark 🇩🇰 we don’t have cockroaches 😊 butI do hate spiders 🕷️😱 but I learned to have some daddy longlegs in my house. The kill spiders and creep my house spider free 😀🌸🥳

I’m new to your channel and have been enjoying your makeovers. The one with your backyard makeover was excellent. Have you ever thought of painting your wood fence? I did ours and my dad’s. It really brighten up the yard and gave it more of a finished look.

I would suggest having dinner and immediately doing bath time earlier in order to let them have time to decompress before bed time.Having everything earlier will allow an earlier bedtime.

For the blowup slide, try spraying vinegar on the mildew spots...or spray Zep Mold & Mildew (it has bleach in it). Not certain if it will weaken the integrity of the rubber though so be mindful of that.
Hi Michelle . I say , you home is beautiful and beautifully decorated . It is very hard to keep clean with kids lol . I found that when making a special play area for my kids ,I was able to keep messes at a minimal . I loved the inspirational video ,

True that this is the longest house I’ve lived in to going on 8 years but every other year I have to get a new couch or move the one around I have I like change I just got a new rug too

your house is fantastic everything in your living room turned out great have you ever thought of painting that wood coffee table a lighter color? For the bounce house mildew and mold remover from home Depot comes in a spray can. Stay it let it set for 20 min, rinse thoroughly. Works great
P.s that's exactly the way I got my husband to help me do things.( Hiring someone)
You say you’re not a ‘DIYer’ but the two of you do an incredible job! I would recommend, the next time you hang crystal, wear cloth gloves, I could see your fingerprints as you put your chandelier together.

I can see other people have noticed this, however I just wanted to say what I learned from the first kid to the second kid. Kids having a designated area and bins. they could only take out one thing to play with at a time and when they were done with it they had to clean it up and put it back before they could take out the second thing.
Not trying to say you weren’t doing a great job just telling you what I learned from my kids as time went on. They were more responsible and more organized and less stressed and overwhelmed when they had guidelines to stick to, and held accountable for them.

Maybe get a swiffer and put a long pole it to clean the high areas. That's what I do. I had to tape two poles together

We plan on going to Kentucky (,we are in Michigan) to see The Ark. Great for kids, lots to do and learn about Noah's family and how they built the Ark. The Ark is built to the measurements in the Bible.
Also, an hour done the road is the Creation. I don't recommend doing both in one day. Check it all out.
