I’m an Alberta Resident bear hunter, love that you come up here every year and show everyone our beautiful province. Cameron Hanes is always welcome to Alberta!!!
Stop the suck fest. Baiting black bears isn't hunting. And cam pays for people to do all the hard work, then claims he endures hardship as a "bow hunter"
Screw all these negative comments! The scene of you being there for the Bear‘s last breath was one of the most beautiful things I’ve seen in hunting. Great work!
Had the circumstances been different I don't think there would be any negative comments. Had he ran up to a bear he stalked or called in truly in the wild I am sure most or all would agree with what you're saying. But sitting completely exposed basically in a lawn chair in front of a pile of grain and a purposely placed rotten beaver lol on a property that spends all year purposely trying to attract as many bears as possible is the issue. Him running after the bear to touch it before it dies was just the cherry on top of a video full of absolute nonsense. I am a Cam fan and still am even after leaving this comment, his spot and stalk elk hunts are true hunting. This here was going to a buddies house who probably has 500 acres and spends all year trapping animals, rotting them in barrels, and then laying them out and feeding bears so they never leave so they can hunt them. Thats called owning a zoo.
@@Nick-xw3dk If all you did was spot and stalk Bears, a lot more juvenile bears and Female bears with cubs would die... Because that spot & stalk hunt is so incredibly difficult.. People just need to use their brains a bit and think about the whole thing as a picture, not just moment by moment

Awesome!! I am a lifelong alberta resident. I'm so happy you come up to experience our world class black bear hunting. I didn't get my fall bear this year. Tough year to hunt bears in the foothills. I nailed two deer with my bow this year. Your videos are inspiring!! Keep hammering!!
Got my first black bear last September and I must say Cam played a big part in normalizing bear hunting for me, as I always had a weird reluctance to it that was hard to explain. We had 7 bears around but one particular bear had been lurking around the neighbours' goats, teasing our dogs and livestock, and even chased the neighbour's wife. We live below hundreds of acres of mountain sagebrush crown/public land in BC, and as this bear started to get used to being too close it still was claiming territory beyond where we saw it, guessing too many bears trying to share their Summer territory. So decided to pursue it as I had a bear tag in early season. Best hunt of my life. Took me through the most challenging terrain before and after the hunt, almost left behind a hand, and possibly could have fell down the gully when hauling that bear back and the adrenaline to be so close to it every step of the way as we were basically playing tag and he was so reluctant to go into prey mode. This bear's soul still lingered around even after we skinned and butchered it, but then it settled, gave in, and now, these are among the best meals we've had, competing with mule deer and the local cattle that ranges here... Braised bear meat pies, ground bear chili, bear grease... just incredible stuff. Considering black bears are so healthy as a population, bear hunting has to be one of the most sustainable hunts in North America. And one hell of a way to manage their population as their fate is often to go down valleys and farms and become "problems" and end up at the dump. They are amazing creatures and amazing to live with, but even more so when you include them in your sustenance.
i cant say i have the courage to "count coue" like you do but god it hits home. maybe i should for my next bear. the moment of grief , comfort and gratitude hit home.
