Jennifer, you never stop teaching fascinating, gorgeous, techniques. Even if you do not have many supplies, getting all of the distress, and Oxides, can go a very long way. Tfs. God Bless!
I had never heard of bleaching on a card before Jennifer. Thank you for sharing this video & sharing your tips & techniques. I appreciate your sharing all of your card making videos for us to learn from.
I've used bleach many yrs ago. Love the waterbrush idea. I normally love real brushes for my watercoloring but bought a waterbrush and didn't like it. Now it will have a purpose--bleach only. Thanks Jennifer!!
Awesome video, Jennifer. I had totally forgotten about using bleach with card making. Revisiting our old techniques was such a great idea. I never used a water brush doing it so I'm off to fill one of my "pens" with some bleach! Thanks for sharing.
love what you have created. I have played with bleach - but you have given me a new twist in using distress ink first on the background - thanks gabriele
I have seen this done directly to card stock, but I love the results with Distress ink much better! These cards are so wonderful! I am definitely going to try this!
I hate bleach, but I always keep some for some whites (soldier/mechanic/handyman husband!) and I always buy the ones with fragrance not the original. So I think I will try this and just, but may be just putting a little bleach in a disposable cup with cotton balls or cotton cosmetic pads in the bottom and maybe apply it with cotton swabs. Then if I like I can dedicate one of the many extra Pentel water brushes I have to just bleach! By the way, no mater how long ago I've been watching and how many videos I've watched (every single one), you always find ways to make me love your cards more!
I just came across your channel and have instantly become a huge fan. This video brought back a technique I have used for many years and your take on it has fired my imagination. I will be checking out the rest of your videos over the next few days. Many thanks X
Aloha Jennifer, I never thought to combine bleach with distress inks. Thanks for explaining about the smell thing because it's really hard for me to be near it. These turned out so vibrantly, with happy surprises of other color when you added the bleach! Thank you for your fun tutorials. You get mojo back faster than anybody I know LOL!!!! Keep rockin' it!
KonaSitkaRose yes, i agree. bleach freaks my freak out. :) i hate it! but i don't notice it here in the waterbrush. i have to get my nose up to it to smell it!
I like the blue but more partial to the red poinsettia.Jut beautiful and looks so easy to do, so I will try this. Thank you so much for the idea. Lorrie Peck
Love the technique and love the cards, but I'm curious why you cut the card stock in the first place? Did you 'rejoin' the pieces by backing on another full size card stock? Do you think we could achieve the same effect by masking that diagonal zone?
hi Jennifer. Do you think the Tide to Go pens would work for this technique? It has a chisel tip like a marker. I'm thinking it should but just wondering what you think.
Jennifer what does the bleach do to the brush. I love the cards they are gorgeous. I have used the bleach with just a paint brush but like the idea of the water brush.
Some time ago I tried bleaching, but the tip of the brush that I used just fell apart! Do you have any particular make of brush that works best with this technique? Your cards are beautiful and inspiring, as always, by the way! x
The smell of bleach really nauseates me so l am really hesitate to use this technique. Hopefully putting it in the pen will prevent that so l may try it. I love the results. Glad to know the smell isn't there after drying. Hugs...
Hello, Jennifer, How did you control how bleached the distress ink gets? I have tried to be very light with painting, but it always turns totally white....which is nice in itself, but I'd like to have some with just a paler color. I love your videos and am learning a lot from you.
What surface are you using for your work? Is it a non stain cutting mat? All mine don't seem to come that clean again after using distress ink like that.
I hadn't thought of bleaching since The Carol Duvall show was on. LOL I'd forgotten how cool it looked.
Jennifer, you never stop teaching fascinating, gorgeous, techniques. Even if you do not have many supplies, getting all of the distress, and Oxides, can go a very long way. Tfs. God Bless!

Great technique. I'll give it a try.
Cool, pretty cards!
This is an interesting technique. I'm wonder if I could use bleach as an ink for stamps. Would the bleach ruin rubber or clear stamps?
Love this look, Jennifer! Do you use full strength bleach?
amazing technique!
Love the technique and love the cards, but I'm curious why you cut the card stock in the first place? Did you 'rejoin' the pieces by backing on another full size card stock? Do you think we could achieve the same effect by masking that diagonal zone?
Loved this video...... great technique..... can't wait to try it out !! :)

Some time ago I tried bleaching, but the tip of the brush that I used just fell apart! Do you have any particular make of brush that works best with this technique? Your cards are beautiful and inspiring, as always, by the way! x
