    Green Guardian druid.
    13 strength
    16 dexterity
    10 constitution
    8 intelligence
    16 wisdom
    10 charisma
Spellcaster tank who can focus a concentration spell without worry about being in the front line.
For the race well choose variant human
For the feat we will choose "Aberrent Dragon mark" . The spell and cantrip "shield" and "blade ward"
    Play druid
And at level 2 choice circle of the spores
Spore druid ability "symbiotic entity" can summon temp HP two times equal to 4×druid level
At level 4 well take the feat "magic initiat" from the cleric. I'd personally choose "Spare the dieing" and "Thaumaturgy" for the two cantrips. But the main reason of the feat is for "Sanctuary" spell. A none concentration spell that protects someone as long as they don't make any attacks.
Next if you keeps casting "blade ward" you basically have rage resistances. It's unfortunate because it uses an action to cast. But that's not a problem, you can't use attacks and use Sanctuary anyway.
Along with "absorb elements" and the shield spells you'll be almost as defensive as a totem bear barbarian if not more by having high AC that makes enemies make saving throws befor they can even attack. Best part, none of it is concentration.
For a druid they lack extremely amazing burst spells but have the best and most effective concentration spells. Now they can cast them without worrying about dropping concentration for a very long time. "Conjure animals" is one of the most notoriously dangerous and powerful level 3 concentration spells in the game for being able too flood the initiative system with creatures on your side like 8 beasts. And the concentration spells to come at higher levels only increase in danger. "Conjure woodland beings" and so forth. Or even use healing spells like "healing spirirt" or "Aura Of Vitality" to support the the team while taking hits.
Future feats to consider to make the tank effectiveness better is
    Medium armor master
    Fighting initiate, armored Fighting style
Inspiring leader, ( so you can give your summons temp HP)

    I have a power build.
FaiRune. A Rune Knight Fairy can still cast its spells during Giant’s Might; including the Racial Spell Enlarge. Meaning at 17th level, you can grow to Gargantuan Size.
Along your journey, grab a Bag of Holding to store weapons dropped by Large, Huge, and Gargantuan monsters. Players, according to the DMG, can use the weapons for the same damage dice as the monster; provided they are of a height no less than 1 size smaller, and in that one size have disadvantage to hit. Combine with Great Weapon fighting style to reroll 1s and 2s of two-handed weapons, and a Huge Greatsword will have an above average damage from its 6d6 base.
With the last 3 levels, take a full caster class to get extra 2nd level spell slots. Sorcerer can Quicken or Twin Enlarge, while Bladesingers (if the DM allows despite RAW) have bonus AC. Both get Shield and a couple minor buffs.
If you want more spell slots at the cost of no Gargantuan size, I would consider Artificer. They can make their own Bag of Holding, as well as Glyphs of Warding for the buff spells. After that option, Bladesinger can cast a Cantrip alongside the Extra Attack, and Sword Burst is an AOE around your increased size.

I am cringing at some of these skill monkey's, no offence guys, cause you only need 8 levels do it, its very simple, 4 levels Lore Bard, 4 levels Scout Rogue, Skilled and Eldritch Adept (Beguiling Influence being your eldritch invocation), A race that gives 2 skill proficiencies (i.e Tabaxi or Van Richten's lineage), and that's it, you got all 16 proficiences, and its actually not a terrible class combo either cause your focusing on Dex and Charisma cause your a Rogue Bard, which also in practice is surprisingly good.

    • @Optimushroom
      @Optimushroom 2 года назад +12

You can do it in 7 levels. And there's 18 skills, not 16.
Variant human for 1 skill and Skilled feat for 3 more. Background adds 2 more, only important thing is that you don't take Nature or Survival yet, and that you don't take more than one of Arcana, History or Religion.
Start with Rogue for 4 more skills, 10 total. At Rogue 3 you pick the Scout subclass for proficiency and double proficiency in Nature and Survival, 12 skills total. Then multiclass to Bard, 1 more skill, total 13. At Bard 3 you take College of Lore for 3 more, total is now 16. Then put 1 level in Cleric, Knowlegde domain, for proficiency and double proficiency in two skills from Arcana, History or Religion (you already had Nature).
18 skills, double proficiency in 8 of them.

@@Optimushroom I like this idea a lot and am totally going to do it at some point. @Optimushroom 2 года назад +4

@@ZanderWesli if you look in chapter 6 of the PHB, there's a section on multiclassing before the feats. Wood Elf (for +2 Dex)
Archery fighting style for +2 to attack rolls with bows. +5 to hit from Dex. +6 from proficiency at level 20. +3 longbow and +3 arrows. Foe Slayer feature at level 20 allows you to add your Wisdom modifier (+5 in this case) to either the attack or damage roll. All together, that’s a +24 to hit.
Tarrasques have the highest AC in the game at 25, and this build lets you hit them with a nat 1. No matter what you come up against, you are incapable of missing, even with disadvantage. You don’t even need any feats, just use ability score improvements to max out Dexterity and Wisdom. And if you have a bard friend who inspires you with a d12, that could become a +36 to hit. Literally nothing, not even a paladin with 28 AC and mage armor, could escape your arrows

@@Anon-qp3kt I thought of that. As a wood elf your initial speed is 35, 5 feet faster than most races or classes. If you take Tasha’s optional class feature Deft Explorer at level 1 instead of the PHB’s Natural Explorer you get another 5 feet of movement, bringing you to 40. Throw in the longstrider spell at level 2 and you can increase your speed by 10 feet for a full minute, bumping you up to 50. Just stay at the edge of your range, and if anyone starts getting too close for comfort take a full turn to put 100 feet of distance between you and them, as they will (normally) only be able to close 60 feet every round.
You can also use the Vanish class feature (level 14) to hide as a bonus action, so your enemies have a harder time locating you, especially if you’re at maximum range.

A little late, but in terms of what you can do with a high carrying capacity, you can dimension door while holding an object up to your carrying capacity, and essentially drop 9600 pounds on someone’s head from 500 feet. You would just have to rearrange the levels to 6 bear barbarian, 3 glory Paladin, 3 rune knight fighter, and 7 sorcerer (any subclass). Turn 1 use channel divinity and activate giants might, turn 2 use enhance ability, object interaction to lift a pillar weighing 9.6k pounds, action surge to cast dimension door, and let the DM figure out how to calculate the damage. If they count it as a weapon attack, you can smite with it lol

I have a support build that I have been obsessing over recently. Not a good combatant whatsoever, but can survive decently well and can empower allies and debuff enemies like no other.
    Divine Soul Sorcerer 1
    Peace Domain Cleric 1
College of Lore (or Eloquence) Bard X
    Race: Mark of Hospitality Halfling
    Str 8
    Dex 10
    Con 14
    Int 12
    Wis 13+1
    Cha 15+2 (becomes 20)
EDIT: should mention that the above bonuses utilize the Tasha's Cauldron rule for reassigning racial ability score bonuses...
Bard 4: Bountiful Luck (skip this if Silvery Barbs is allowed)
    Bard 8: Fey Touched (Cha >> 18)
    - Bane or Bless
    Bard 12: ASI (Cha >> 20)
Bard 16: player choice, maybe Healer?
This build has two spells: Bless and Bane. Okay it has more, but these are its bread and butter. Combining Bless with Emboldening Bond gives a +5 average to attacks and saves (the second d4 only works once per turn though, so extra attack fighters won't be able to milk this combo as much). Add to that Bardic Inspiration and it goes anywhere from a +8.5 to +11.5 on average.
This assumes that you are not on the front lines granting advantage on attacks via Help, which you very well could do with the help of Sanctuary as a Divine Soul Sorcerer spell. This would average an attack bonus of +3.5 on top of everything else, which could bring your attack roll contribution to anywhere between +12 and +15 on average! Assuming that your ally has a 16 attacking ability at lower levels and a 20 at higher levels, their overall attack roll bonus becomes +17 to +26 on average if you are fully committed to helping an attack land.
You can also Bane enemies. This strat will require you to stand back, since Sanctuary will regularly be broken if you try to use it. Combine Bane with either Vicious Mockery or Mind Sliver, depending on the state of the battlefield. You can penalize your enemy by -5 to saves this way, or -6 to attacks, on average. The first attack or save, that is, since the cantrip effects expire after the first roll. Then, choose your Bard subclass in accordance with the rest of your party. Have a lot of spellcasters or a Monk with Stunning Strike? Go College of Eloquence for Unsettling Words, and crank the saving throw penalty up to -8.5 through -11.5 on average, to make that critical Banishment, Stunning Strike, or other saving throw effect land without a hitch. If you've got a martial party and you're the only regular caster, go College of Lore to crank up the attack roll penalties with Cutting Words. Penalties go anywhere from -9.5 to -12.5 on average.
Furthermore, if your allies ever have the misfortune of rolling a 1... Nevermind, they don't have that misfortune because you let them reroll it with Bountiful Luck as long as they're nearby. This competes with Cutting Words and Counterspell for your reaction, but hey, having too many great uses for your reaction is never a serious problem. This might be redundant with Silvery Barbs though, if that's not table-banned, so check with your DM before committing to that feat.
On the note of reactions, Absorb Elements will be important for this build. As a low-Dex build, saving throws will be a challenge for common damaging effects. Absorb Elements can help mitigate failed saves against bigger elemental spells (though recall you will likely benefit from your own +2d4 on all saves if you are going with the Bless strategy, and have a further +2d4 from Favored by the Gods if you _really_ need that +10 average against something critical). And on the note of survivability, if you are not Helping or Cure Wounds-ing while Blessing, you should be casting Blade Ward on the chance an attack gets through your Sanctuary.
Enjoy the look on _everyone's_ faces as you essentially get to choose what succeeds and what fails on the battlefield. After all, who needs a DM when you have direct access to the knobs of fate? 😈

  • @saprone8885

I have been thinking about a combination I see no one talking about. Optimally you want to play a Sorcerer with Custom Lineage. Take Fey Touched and choose Gift of Alacrity as spell. Your Charisma will be at 18 on level 1 and maxed out at level 4. The combo is that you take Extended spell at level 3 and give everyone in the party Gift of Alacrity before a long rest. If you also have a Watchers Paladin in your party these initiative bonuses will stack. Together they give the whole party around +8 initiative starting from level 7. Since most spellcasters can end fights before they even start with spells like Hypnotic Pattern and Wall of Force I see some real potential here. Going first is really important in this game and it also helps setting up other combo’s between party members.

Hello yes here is my abomination of a tank build that is good at everything and makes sure no one ever misses a saving throw and especially doesn't miss their own saves.
Warforged armorer artificer 14 vengeance paladin 6
Not only do you just generally get a bunch of really good spells but the enemy actually has a good reason to attack you because they have disadvantage against everyone else, also hold person (thanks paladin) can fully lock them down, while also just being a really good paladin in general.
    Stat spread is 13, 8, 17, 8, 12, 16 (band of intellect allows multiclassing don't worry)
With our 4 asi's we'll get aberrant dragonmark (get shield), sentinel (you are not gonna need war caster, gauntlet weapons and armor/shield as focus means no problemo casting) +2 CON, and a +2 to cha.
With your paladin you not only have your vengeance spells and on demand "fuck that guy in particular", you have your aura that gives +4 to saving throws of everyone close to you. You also dish out +4's to saving throws and ability checks with flash of genius, *this includes initiative* . Your opportunity attack is sentinel, have 19 to intelligence due to taking up band of intellect at level 10 and you can use for weapon attacks, and just do a bunch of other things as well.
With the armorer you can give yourself +2 ac and a +2 weapon for free without using your other infusions, of which neither require attunement, now what we do is take bandana of intellect before multiclassing to paladin, we also take 3 rings and 1 cloak of protection. If you want you can change one of the rings for a homonculus servant, give the homonculus a stored spell and you can practically concentrate on 2 spells. But we want big numbers so I'm keeping the last ring.
Ac= 18 plate + 2 enhanced defense + 2 shield + 1 defense, + 1 warforged, +4 from rings and cloak, = 28 passive defense. 28 + 2 haste + 5 shield = 35. Did I mention that you have mirror image? Oh also the illusions in mirror image count as separate entities so the attacker would have disadvantage against them due to thunder gauntlets, which you use your int mod to punch.
Your bonus to saving throws on the other hand:
+4 aura + 4 rings and cloak passively. Extra +4 from flash of genious= +12
    Str: 13, 1+12= +13
    Dex: 8, 12-1 = +11
    Con: 20, 5+6+12 = +23, told you we didn't need war caster
    Int: 19, 4+6+12= +22
    Wis: 12, 1+12= +13
    Cha: 18, 4+12= +16
You have haste on you btw, and if someone else wants to cast haste on you, you have hold person to make all those attacks crit. The victim has disadvantage against everyone but you, the dude with, mirror image, 200 health, 30 AC that can go up to 35 if actually hit, the dude that has advantage on you, the dude who, if taking only a single penalty to ac and saving throws, has an objectively better familiar on 24/7 that is still concentrating on a levitate, meaning you can't even fucking move. He doesn't even need to be melee he can change to a ranged attacker anytime he takes a long rest if he wants. He still has all those smites too and he WILL hit you 3 times. Like Jesus christ.
Don't even get started on the combined utility of having access to all of both paladin and artificer spell lists, with 8 always prepared from artificer INCLUDING GREATER INVISIBILITY, SHATTER, MAGIC MISSILE, MIRROR IMAGE, HYPNOTIC PATTERN AND LIGHTNING BOLT; 4 always prepared from paladin INCLUDING MISTY STEP, HOLD PERSON AND HUNTER'S MARK; 11 chosen spells to prepare from artificer and 7 chosen spells to prepare from paladin.
    Absolute mayhem I'm telling you

My tank is rediculously powerful I think. BUT MY DM JUST DOESNT CARE. My character was too scary, so now everything in the campaign is built to stop me. I HAVE 300 HEALTH. but that's just not enough, my AC is 21, because after a while I needed to stop getting hit. I can do somewhere around 350dmg in one turn, but now all the enemies have immunity to force. Basically I was OP, now I'm not, because DM angy

10th Fighter (Cavalier) with polearm master, sentinel, bind fighting and hold the line feature basically saids to your DM who cares about turns or melee anyway and later on in cavalier level at 15 level you can knock over a creature 8 to 16 times your size and 18th enemies turn are our turn so don't underestimate the shutdown, stun and shove potential of this build as it made DM rage quit for a soild 10 minutes before continuing on the game.

    • @TheAroVII
      @TheAroVII 2 года назад

I'm not too familiar with DnD's rule system, so I can't go too in depth, and someone might correct me later. The main thing you're fighting on chance to hit is AC, and the d20 you roll to hit. Since you're trying to match or exceed the AC, you need a bonus to hit that is 2 points under the AC, since the lowest you can roll on the d20 and still have a chance of hitting is 2. I'm not aware of what monster has the highest AC in official RAW 5e, but I'd bet it's over 20, so you need a bonus of higher than that. At level 20, you get proficiency of +6, and if the attacking attribute is maxed at 20, you get a +5, so you already have +11. Magic items can buff that attacking attribute further, but Offbeat's rules don't allow that for these submissions, so I'm not going into it here.
To be honest, I started this explanation to say that may not be possible, but if the DM keeps to RAW, it might be. There's who knows how many spells to buff hit rolls that I can't think of right now. A homebrewing DM can always raise the AC however, so a build of that kind may lose efficacy quickly. Although, I guess a homebrewing DM can also raise HP in light of really high damage power-builds, so what's the difference?

@@TheAroVII archer fighting style can bump that number by two with a ranged weapon. I was mostly wondering if there was a broken build to take it even further. I don't think so, but if anyone can do it, it's offbeat outlaw.

wouldn't the speed build at the end be more efficient if you took 16 lvls in Monk and 2 in rogue (+ the 2 in fighter oviously)? because now their speed is 70, doubled to 140 by tabaxi, movement, dashaction, action surge -> dash action makes 140x3= 420ft in that one turn. With 2 rogue lvls instead of 2 monk lvls it would be 65 standard speed, doubled to 130 and you could do an additional dash as bonus action making it 130x4 wich is 520ft so wopping 100ft more. (520ft=156m in 6 sec. Usain Bolt would be jealus, cause thats more than 2.5 times his world record speed!! nearly 60 mph/ about 95kmh)
