- On Saturday 16th October 2010 a crew from Australian Mountain Bike Magazine flew to Rotorua, New Zealand.
Their mission - to ride the trails, experience whats on offer in the city and surrounding areas - Taupo and the Hawkes Bay.
They also were to compete in the Whaka 100 and the 2010 World SingleSpeed Champs! But most importantly, have a laugh.
I had a lot of fun just watching these fellows haveing fun , living and enjoying what they do.
Thank you for the upload :)
I've ridden these trails! New Zealand is the most beautiful place I've ever been :)

Planning to go over from Australia next year, the wife and I hire a van and travel around for a couple of months doing the trails.

If I rode a single speed, I'd be angry too.
I like this tupe of riding, i'm new to mountain biking i want to know 1. What type of bike are you guys riding and wound a cannondale trails 6 be able to stand up to this type of mountain biking?
It would be fine, 29ers are good for people starting out as it makes climbs easier and gives you nice control. You need to go and try some bikes out though before you buy one or you may not like the feel of it.
cannondale trail 6 2015 29er : forums.mtbr.com/29er-bikes/my-first-29er-cannondale-trail-6-2015-a-929445.html#post11444776
On that forum you can find some nice threads...
Abimbola, I ride a Santa Cruz Solo/5010 C and a diamondback hard tail. How a bike will hold up depends on how rough its ridden. Personally I would say 29ers are not for every one they are slow in the corners due to very long wheel base, and just less maneuverable overall. If you plan to do more than straight lines on double track forget about it. 27.5/650 is the Goldilocks wheel size, you get some of the rollover advantage of the 29er and you don't loose the snappiness of a 26. Demo as many bikes as you can if you are looking to get a new one.
Depends on the terrain you are riding. Talk to a local bike shop. This is cross country riding. Most cross country bikes now a days are 29" wheel hardtails.
Thanks
