The Soviet Union made Yugoslavia from those countries they only had peace because the Soviets wouldn’t tolerate anything like the civil wars that followed the breakup. These countries existed before WW1
Ah it's a fantastic documentary. The first part is even better but I can't for the life of me find it on the hardrive and if I do I think it should be online for everyone to see.
The video tapes taken from 4.43 till 5.16 aren’t from Afghanistan. They’re from Egypt, from “saeed” [صعيد]to be specific which are the reef parts of Egypt. The stick dance is a tradition over there usually referred to as “raks baladi”. What proves my words are the clothes worn. The men here can be seen wearing galabiyas (the long dress like thing) with sort of turbans to prevent sun burns. The second proof are the the buildings seen in the background. The red bricks used are only available in Egypt which are is made from clay in river nile I believe . I know this because I’m an Egyptian myself from saeed.

I remember as a kid a group of Gypsies camping on some wastground in our town and I befriended the kids and I played with them and we got on great and I got on great with the adults my mum didn’t really mind as long as I was polite to them and hoke before dark but omg my grandma hated them and she slapped me on the back of legs for going near them warning me to stay well away from them broke my heart later saying g in tears to my new friends I’m sorry I’m not allowed to play with you or my grandma will hit me again so I gave my friends a hug and never seen them again 🥲
I had similar happen to me. I used to play with Darren and Eileen who were Roma neighbours in the U.K when I was about ten. Our other neighbours who were petty nightmares came and told my Mum that I was playing with the gypsies and they didn’t think I should be. My Mum to her credit said ‘So?’. I still wonder how Darren and Eileen are doing as we moved away a little after. If anyone knows roma siblings in Worcestershire called Darren and his older sister who I knew less well, Eileen I’d love to know how they are!

@@Ramsezsh I was living in Shipka, Bulgaria for 1 year, travelling everywhere (Sofia, Sheynovo, Kazanlak, Sliven, Burgas, Varna, Plovdiv, Ruse, Haskovo, etc.) and I didnt have any problem. I even helped a gypsy school in a gypsy village in Kazanlak and I saw gypsy kids coming to the school in holidays helping the teacher to clean the floor. Also I saw them dancing in a gypsy village. Also, one gypsy guy gave me a ride when I was hitchiking. It's everything I saw from them.
