I went to visit my 73-year-old dad this evening and I found him sitting in his living room watching this video with a serene look on his face. He was such at peace. My dad worked as a farm hand almost his whole life. I joined him in watching the video as he was reminiscing about his younger years and how he missed the farm. So, thank you for whoever took the time to capture this event.
I typed up vintage frame tractors, and this showed up, I'm up in years. I don't get it, some people think this older machinery has no place, just for looking at. I got started working in dirt when I was kid, Cat equipment, nothing at it all looks like the machinery I worked with back in the day. that old iron. It supported us, put the beans on the table, it was our bread and butter. I didn't worked frame equipment, I primarily was mechanic welder by trade. Originally from UPS,NY, farming, that entire area is sold off, housing development. Framing, combo dairy & barn yard animal, all gone the way....... Iowa if I have it right, looks awesome....... seeing everyone kicking in to turn the ground like everyone did. awesome. I'm a Believer........In the words of Boaz, The Lord Bless you.............
Just came across this video, very enjoyable. We haven't plowed any of our ground since the early 80's, did ridge till, then no till, then no till with cover crops but it sure is great to watch this on someone else's ground. I saw a Case 400 in there, still have one that was the first diesel my granddad ever bought. It would pull 4-14's. I spent many hours in the seat of that tractor.
Would love to do that again. Grew up plowing open station tractors 2 and 3 bottom.plows slow going but you always had a. Clear sense of accomplishment when a fielf was done.
Nice video. I've got several of each of those different colors to play with. JD D, 70 diesel, 70 gas, 630. Oliver 1850 diesel, Case 1270, DC-4, International M, English Ferguson TE-20.
Seeing these beasts of burden reminds me of alternating summers working on one of my uncles farms and then spending time on my other uncles boats either crabbing or pelagic fishing. Now bearing in mind that this was the 70s and earning between £40 to £70 pounds a week it was a great way to earn money and unlike most of the crew who’d piss up against a wall i gave my mum two thirds of what i earned and bought things i could only dream of having

I saw the initial picture, then clicked the video and loved the sounds of the plow day!! I am a new subscriber. In watching the video, it seemed like the tractors were traveling faster than the engine sounds??
Originally it was so that the tractor could turn shorter, like if your planting and you need to turn short or if you needed to work around tight buildings, thanks for watching!
Tal como e visto los camioneros en la yunquera pronto ni camioneros ni tractoristas ni nada .... Estan jodidos ara esperar la llamada para empezar el martes ji ji ji
Can't get too many of those old tractors. Love turning dirt. Can smell that spring air and feel the sunshine. God bless the farmers that feed the USA.

No discrimination there. Looked like just about all makes were present. That's cool when anyone can come plow no matter what you drive. 👍👍👍

True farmers are a dieing breed!
As always the red and green get the most air time. But when it comes to an Allis or Oliver, Case it is a flash and on to the next red or green one.
We will try to feature them more next time!

Lo
Plough day
Are you folks doing one this fall by chance??
Love the old putt putt John Deeres, but ugh no Massey Harris or Massey Ferguson?
Or just Ferguson te 20's :(
What was the advantage on so many tractors in the states of having the front wheels so close,?
Originally it was so that the tractor could turn shorter, like if your planting and you need to turn short or if you needed to work around tight buildings, thanks for watching!
They were made that way for front mount cultivators and mounted corn pickers.
That is some beautiful rich black soil. Reminds of Central IL between Decatur and Mattoon.

I saw a couple of Oliver’s in the background, but the filing would stop when they were plowing.
When and where is the next plow days in 2024🤔?
