I was just thinking the same. Literally said: "Geez, till the track crew has a fire extinguisher ready the tractor is completely burned down." and then the driver pulled out his own fire extinguisher and i was like: "Heh, if you want something to be done right..."
It does look funny but i suppose that with it already turned when the front comes down it will grab and turn the vehicle the way they want it. I could be wrong.

As others have mentioned its for when the front end does come down even if its only for a moment. it will result in some turning which is better than having to use the brakes to turn and lose momentum. Every little bit helps.
These events only need to have the TRAINED emergency personnel on the track when these vehicles blow up not a bunch of want to be fireman. I’ve been to 3 tractor pull events where the untrained idiots got burned and ended up being the one rushed to the hospital. Get it together event organizers make sure to put money in the pot for a few TRAINED emergency personnel.

if you're a genius, you'd know a regular dry-chem extinguisher isn't the best when dealing with automotive fires, either oil, fuel, or methonal or otherwise, with an extinguisher you also run the risk of just spraying the flaming shit all over the place. Sometimes a dry chem can work. Also, those big silver canisters that are sometimes seen dragged over to a wrecked rig that might catch fire IS THE EXTINGUISHER. It takes a genius to use more than his eyeballs, huh? Helps to use the stuff behind them (your brain) too, y'know?
Everyone is trying to steer using the wheel while their front tires are 4 feet off the ground. And it ruins everything when they come back down... You got to either use differential breaks for the rears or just pray it stays straight.
6:33 These tractors really need better head protection. Perhaps they should mandate halo seats and even HANS devices. I've seen numerous guys get their bell rung really bad due to their helmets smacking off the cages
A lot of these clips you can tell the have way way way to much air pressure in their tires tires should flex and grab instead of bounce getting off the line
People complain that they are not ready.. Well this is a compilation. It is not that common to get fires in these events. I have been in them for years, many times, never seen a fire. All the personnel should be trained dealing with problems like these as they happen and will continue to happen as long as people are pulling tractors.

Everyone commenting on the officals and reactions to fire. 1 realize in most cases these are people volunteering their time not professionals. In some cases these people may only do a couple pulls a year. Also they dont see that many fires. Yes they happen but many pulls have zero fires. So yes being volunteers when a fire happens they are sometimes caught a little off gaurd. Overall for most part they do fine. Im yet to hear of anyones vehicle burning to the ground

It’s not just the lack of safety equipment on hand at these events… it’s the udder stupidity of the spectators that are sitting on those sidelines and when one of the trucks or tractors get plowed sideways and are coming straight towards them they don’t even attempt to think of getting ready to get out of the way.
One thing i NEVER GOT IS the indoor pulls Theirs so much compression its no wonder the turbo blows an the engine says enough as well ..at 60.000 a motor id be like ..NOPE FOLKS POINTS AINT THAT PRECIOUS..just saying
I've never understood it either. You have 2000lbs of engine slamming down to the ground, which really ends up being like 5000lbs for a split second depending on the speed the front end comes down. All expected to be handled spindles that look like they came off a garden tractor... Some guys have smartened up and started using bigger wheels and made dual A-arm setups that use airbags. You would think after all these years of wheels breaking off and front ends digging in and flipping tractors that those little spindle mounted wheels wouldn't even be a thing anymore.
Because 99.% of the time it works out. You're just seeing the few times it doens't in these videos. The biggest reason these wheels are so small is weight savings.

Seems they can design a drivetrain that can handle 10,000 HP, but they can't design a pair of stub axles that can support a couple of thousand pounds. 🤣 I don't really understand why they use the tiny wheels in the first place.... I can't find any rule that requires them. Irrespective, they just don't seem to know how to engineer that aspect properly.
