It took me a couple times watching this performance to appreciate it as another Sydnie “Kiss” on a song I didn’t particularly like. Now I love her version because it means something to her and the journey she has been on for a decade. 👍😎🌴❤️
Was looking forward to your review of this performance. I too have never been a fan of the song for reasons you described, but after watching her perform it a number of times, I’ve really come to appreciate her delivery. So much passion and intensity. She was really locked in and just owned the stage in that magnificent venue. The hushed moment of vulnerability with her arms outstretched was absolutely stunning. The song choice, reportedly selected by the royal family, was a far cry from Tomorrow and her more sentimental BGT songs, but it demonstrates her ability to handle a wide array of music.
I just saw a video from Britains Got Talent. Sydnie talked about this song and how she was going all out to make it as much of a James Bond song possible including down to her look and makeup. It is quite refreshing to see and hear her sitting down and just talking ❤️🎅🏼
Once again I was delighted to see your comment. Your know-how allows me to understand why Sydnie Christmas's interpretations please me so much. I assume that this interpretation was intended to make the song sound like it was from a James Bond film. On 9 February, Sydnie Christmas will start her UK tour in Glasgow. And on 8 April, she'll be performing at New York's Sony Hall. An excellent gift from her American and Canadian fans would be for her to be ‘forced’ to do a second show!
Thank you Zoe for your professional insight, even if I don't understand most of it. Not a fan of the song either but Syd's version was the first I'd heard of it anyway. Apart from her amazing vocal talent, what impresses me is her ability to reproduce almost exactly her studio recorded version. I'm sure her heart is still with musical theatre and I believe she is signed up to Westway Music, who specialise in that, but feel she is allowing herself more freedom to experience many aspects of the industry, otherwise I'm sure she would have appeared in a show by now. Syd surely has, or will soon, the standing to control her future and call the shots. Going back to her BGT audition "I just want to sing". 😍🤩
Rosé just gave an amazing perfomance in Paris wit 35k at a charity event. she performed with Chinese pianist Lang Lang, an orchestra, and live band that Bruno Mars helped but together to perform with her at festivals and shows. I think you'll really enjoy it and I'm pretty sure you've never heard Rosé sing like this based on what you've reacted to in the past. 'Rosé : "Stay a little longer" (ft Lang Lang), "Toxic till the end", "APT." - Gala des Pièces Jaunes' '

The arrangement sounds like it could be in a James Bond movie

Love this Zoe. ❤️😘
This is her audition to do the next Shirley Bassey style James Bond theme song.
Hahahaha! I was just typing the comment above when you said it in the video. 😁😁😆🎉😜
You should watch her older song with DeFreyne with their cover of Queen's Somebody to Love
She didn't get to pick this song..the Royal Theater picked it for her

Hate the song too. But love her vocals.
Love love love Sydney, the song not so much either
Glad I wasn't the only one 😅
I love the imagine dragons version but love her version, as well.
I agree. She does a wonderful job but I don't care for that song. So good reaction and breaking it down for us.

You are so wrong she's not being Shirley Bassey, Sydnie herself
Meant to Sydnie is being herself
Have you heard shirley bassey sing? She is going for a bond feel and shirley is the original bond singer. It was a nod to goldfinger.
