It’s just opening a file in read-only mode. Additionally you could write it in a a with statement. with open(‘animals.txt’, ‘r’) as animals: for animal in animals: print(f”you’re an {animal}”) with statements handle closing on their own so you don’t need to call animals.close()
So many issues here. You don't open files like that, you use a context manager. You don't add strings but use f strings. Writing in notepad is subjective but just awful.
