Thanks for watching!
My husband and I have developed a plan for us and our 11 year old daughter to be fully nomad within three years. Thanks to you, Bob, and the rest of the video/film crew for these helpful videos. We plan on mainly staying in New Mexico and Arizona but also traveling. My daughter really wants to see the ocean and I fell in love with the Pacific Northwest when I traveled there about 25 years ago. We currently live in Kentucky and my husband has never been further than Tennessee and my daughter has never been out of the tri-state area. We tent camp frequently as a family and want more out of life! I am a true nomad at heart and my daughter was born with the same spirit longing to travel and explore!
You will love it. And your daughter will learn so much more then she would in a classroom. The three years I got to do it with my parents were the best years of my teens. It's also something I will never forget.
Have you seen video from cheaprvling
Brian, I applaud this series you are doing. Since you've just kicked it off, a suggestion for you: splice in an occasional graphic or map of an area you are presenting on video to provide that 'bigger picture'. A bit of extra editing workload, I realize...but usually there are such signs, graphic displays and brochures that would help build that conceptual orientation you are trying to create for the viewer. And thank you for addressing the 'just show up' campers like us. Beach side lounging, indeed!
Oh!!! Don’t miss the “ice cave” at Blue Water Lake! It’s an old volcanic cave but really neat!!
@@lawanafolmar9107 it’s been years since I’ve been but it’s really something to see at least once!
Thank you for sharing! You were very thorough and I really appreciate the Information especially the cellphone reception, the bathrooms, as well as the amenities in town. This video really gives you a sense of the park. Very well done!! I can't wait to see more of these videos on NM State Parks. I am planning on being there for a month next spring.
Brian, another great video. Bob and you have similar styles in that you deliver facts, data, and information that is clear and honest. Its refreshing to have a dependable source that is delivered with humor and kindness instead the "youtuber ego and BS artistry" so many fill their videos with. Thank you for all the hard work you put into a production. I appreciate your shared wisdom and knowledge of the lifestyle from you and Bob. Much love guys.
I grew up going to Blue Water Lake!!!! My grandpa was the only dentist in Grants for many many years!
Brian, you're nailing it! So much wonderful information and great video in Total. We are so blessed to have you. Rock on brother.
Thx for a great rundown of the park, showing all the important features. Always helpful to talk about the elevation & how that affects weather.
Great overview of the park! I'm glad you're doing this series. It's really helpful when planning ahead. The canyon trail looked like a lovely hike!
NM is one of our poorest states but has so many beautiful places.
@@nonyabizness.original From your reply It shows you are familiar with NM Parks. Could you tell me in your experience how dog friendly NM state parks are? Thanks.
I visited and was camp host in NM state parks with my 🐕 Leash is required of course.
I bought land in SW NM 22yrs ago as the climate has 4 gentle seasons and Gila Wilderness is close by
😘..
Not a bad place to hang out for couple decades.
How long consecutively can you stay at this camp site? Do they track it. Thank you. I think most sites are two weeks then you have to move.
Thanks for the memories. When I was a boy, our family had a cabin there. We had two horses there, "Bucky" & "Silver"🐴🐎.
Happy Trails y'all.🤠
This is a wonderful series Brian and CRVL Crew. It's a beautiful SP. Great review of the facilities. I would definitely like to stay here in the future. Thank you. ❤
I just recently bought the New Mexico park pass. My reservations are made for 6 of the state parks. Heading to New Mexico next week.
SO HELPFUL to see the NM annual pass in action. THANK YOU!
I'm not a nomad but dream of it. This series is awesome in that it really gives great ideas hopefully more travels in the future that I hope to do. Thanks so much!
Navy showers are the worst, but soap takes 20 seconds minimum to do it’s job, so maybe a better way to get clean. A 1,200 year drought should also be kept in mind.
Brian, I just wanted to say you are a real asset to the channel. Much as I love Bob, he's been overworking himself for years and needs the downtime. You bring a fresh perspective especially for those of us who want to travel more and don't mind staying in campgrounds. I especially appreciate this new series because I've been wanting to get a New Mexico state park pass myself. It's great to get a visual preview of some of the parks beforehand.
Thanks, love your videos, you're a natural at this.
This is a brilliant set of videos! I am loving it, thank you.
Thanks for the video. I am planning to be in New Mexico in September and October, this was a big help.
Congrats 🍾
Wow! Thanks for the great review! I'm looking forward to seeing more reviews of NM State Parks.
This is such a great option for nomads and dirt cheap! Thanks Brian
Thanks for this video. I can never learn enough about life on the road, even if some is review. It's always helpful. That's for using your time to help others. It's much appreciated.
Excellent!! Thank you Brian! You answered ALL my questions! Wonderful content! 🙌😊🙌
Thank you for the tour. We have the pass but didn't visit this one yet. We stay a week at Ute lake, very peaceful, we really enjoyed it.
Always such lucid, helpful, succinct yet thorough information. Thank you, Brian!
Love New Mexico! Thanks Brian!
Brian, thank you for spending an entire day and more making this lovely info-travelogue for us. This park looks so clean and pristine, a real gem.
I just bought the New Mexico pass and I'm looking forward to staying at these many parks! Thank you for the review of the Bluewater Lake State Park. Are you reviewing any of the other parks? I see people talking about a "series" on the NM parks. It really helps to see what the parks are like and get a run down of what's available. THANKS AGAIN!
Welcome to the Land of Enchantment! I live in Albuquerque and sadly didn't know about the State Parks pass until your first video on it. Maybe we'll see you down the road as we start to explore and camp. Safe Travels.
Brian, thank you for the information on park news.
Great video. I can handle the button in the shower after bird baths.
One of my favorite things about Bluewater is the group of horses (wild?) that come down to the lake in the evening.
@@lawanafolmar9107 From your reply It shows you are familiar with NM Parks. Could you tell me in your experience how dog friendly NM state parks are? Thanks.

@@qnslanman, we have been in New Mexico for the last four months, traveling from State Park to State Park. They have all been pet friendly. Pets must be on leash, but have pretty much been allowed everywhere.
@@qnslanman - Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash at all times, including in the water.
@@lawanafolmar9107 Thank You.
Brian, can you provide info about the filter you used when filling your water jugs from spigot? Thanks
We've added it to the video description above, but just in case here is a link: amzn.to/3OvAOP6
Its just a camco tastepure water filter. You can also get them at walmart. Hope this helps!
Another great video! Very interesting and full of good advice. That park looks beautiful!
Do you love it
Brian, you're getting very good at this. Keep it up!
Thank you! Looks like a great alternative to beating the poop out of your vehicle just to camp...
Very good review of Bluewater Park and am looking forward to your upcoming reviews.
Looks like a neat area, and the price couldn't be better. Keep the good stuff coming.
I love this series. Super informative. I will save these for future use. Thanks.
Good video! Thanks for the info your providing, which will come in handy for my next road trip.
Thanks for the great info! Adding this to my list of things to do/places to go.
I really enjoy your videos, Brian. It's a nice addition to the other style of CRVL videos.
New Mexico state pass is my plan for winter 23/24 thanx for the tour ✌️
It's also great that at the trailhead, there is a faucet for water to fill up before your hike.
Thank you Brian.
Great video! Thank you for the continued information and updates, I am considering getting a NM state park pass!
I live down the street from blue water and it's beautiful especially on a hot sunny day
This was a great place. I stopped one night to sleep on the way to Las Vegas. I just slept in the car and set up a pop-up tent for a bath and restroom. I was there in June and it was really nice. There were a few flies I wasn't impressed with. But overall, I loved it. I wish I had known about the showers but my 2-liter shower worked fine. I have Tmobile and that was out of range. I want to go back and spend more time there. Thanks for the video.
Thanks Brian, always enjoy your travels!
I haven't been but hope to visit next May 2023. Thanks - looking forward to watching all your NM videos.
Thanks much. Very well done!
Good video and information.
In the US Navy on off showers are common. If captain orders water restrictions thats the order. Someone over you catches you taking a longer shower called a vacation, they can and will give a writeup and at least an XOs mass. You don't want a captains mass. You can get brig time at Captains mass. Its just not worth getting introuble over a shower.
Great video thanks!
Thanks Brian. That looks like a really nice play to camp.
Good job on the videos, please show on a map were you are on your videos, I found the best solar oven I've seen, mrmapmax solar oven
It's a larger evacuated tube cost $225 it's like the go sun large, I did 2 of the biggest baking potatoes in 1 hour and 45 minutes, I made corn bread 35 to 40 minutes great for heating up stuff.
Excellent video, and park review!! Well done.
Thank you
Your a super great Mentor!💚
My favourite part is when Brian is walking with the camera. Maybe more of that with Brain cooking in his Rig??? I would like to see that. How about you?
I've been there so many times... I'm from NM....also try Navajo Dam, and the lakes in Santa Rosa, the Pecos River is nice ...have fun
Great video review! Hope you can do a review of each New Mexico state park. GOD Bless , safe travels.
It's so nice to have rinse water
Thank you for sharing your New Mexico camping experience. I have been interested in finding out if it was something worth doing.
Your doing a great job. Get your name out there more often. You are a hit.
This video series is fantastic!
I love the sound of getting this New Mexico pass, and you’ve done such a great job explaining it
Lovely hikes
they have the jail showers ..but the press button thing is cool for the hot water
Brian, thank you for another great video.
Good video!
Very cool
I love the bird noses in intro
Leasburg campgrounds are excellent located in Las Cruces NM
Great information. Thanks! 👍👍
Wonderful video. Thanks for sharing 🙏
HEY ! SLOW DOWN when driving thru the campground.....hahahahaha......good video....thanks...
Thanks Brian
Beautiful area. Don't know if any of those NM state parks include the Ruidoso area but that kinda nice up there, they have the big money horse racing up there (can't remember what time of year) but sure a google search would fix that. Anyways, nice job Brian. Looking forward to your other reviews.
thx for sharing. stay safe
Very useful, interesting info. Thnx!
Thanks Brian, The parks pass certainly is a bargain
Have you been to Clayton lake state park yet. It's up in the Northeast corner of the state. We live down here by bottomless lake state park
New sub! Liked 🙏😮
So if you get the Quartzsite LTVA pass for 7 months, and the New Mexico State Park Pass, you have your rent paid for the whole year, for $ 400, or about $ 34 per month... Much better than the $ 2500 per month rent in the Seattle area...
Thanks!
Thank you Sean!
I'm assuming that dogs are allowed in the parks. Right?
Yes, on leash. We haven’t had issues at any of the parks we have been in.
Y’all come check out the South East corner of NM! Jal NM has a park/lake three days free camping!, free septic dump, water and electricity!! Not the nicest place but still a nice place to visit!
They do stock the Jal “lake” with fish year round!
Big Joe, From your reply It shows you are familiar with NM Parks. Could you tell me in your experience how dog friendly NM state parks are? Thanks.
We were in Jal earlier this year. We loved it. The people were so friendly and helpful. We actually ran into some travel issues while there and offered to pay to stay longer than the 3 days. They told us no way. To stay as long as we needed to. That they were glad yo have us and our business in their stores, etc. I needed a wheelchair, short term, and one of the city officials went to his church and borrowed one for me. An older local legend, Mr. Gene, came and took us sightseeing around the area, and to lunch at the senior center. We could not have asked for a more pleasant stay, anywhere.
@@qnslanman for the most part we take our dogs (a large German shepherd and a small French bulldog) everywhere we go! I grew up in New Mexico and have been to almost every state park here! The only exception I can think of is the Carlsbad Caverns. ( but only inside the caverns themselves!) If you haven’t been check out Sitting Bull Falls (National park services) really beautiful just no camping on site but 100 yards outside the gates you can primitive camp and Brantley lake is not too far it has bathrooms and showers as well as hook ups for rv’s. Plus lots of primitive camping!
@@marzeezee well I’m glad!!! I stopped here to visit in ‘92 and I’m still here! Mr Gene Armstrong is the older gentleman you spoke of! He’s awesome! Did he tell you he flew his antique WW2 Japanese airplane in the movie Pearl Harbor? He’s a character let me tell you! This town is very friendly when I moved here from Tucson AZ. I didn’t know what to think because everyone and I mean everyone kept waving at me when I’d drive through town!!! Lol turns out that’s just the way it is!
I would love to visit this stated park thanks
Is there a way to tell if there is free, no reservation needed, primitive camping available before arriving at a state park?
When we visited the state parks in 2018, I went into the New Mexico State Parks website and there was a brochure that told which parks had dump stations, primitive camping, water or electricity, tent camping, etc.
Your tour of park primitive camping & of the trail and veiws made my heart ache to go. Lol if only $ and a car that didn't have over 330000 m on it.
As a New Mexican using our state parks, I'd pay $5.00 for a shower where I didn't have to push than dang button!
Nice.
i think i’d bring a roll of duct tape with me into the shower and tape the button down with a nice long strip (to be removed when done, of course). yes, it’ll get wet but maybe it will hold long enough to get a decent shower.
thanks for this great series. nmsp is something i think ill do this summer/fall. i’m currently boondocking northern az.
You bring a gallon jug, fill with water, and shower on with the gallon of water.
@@bobmirror7164 that’s how i do it now while boondocking. it’d be nice to have a proper shower once in awhile.
I had a NM state park last year. Campers were "reasonable". Clearly at this point the "crowd" has changed. Now plenty of fulltimers with generators ON all day long. They never seem to hike anywhere. Basically in my perspective of a hiker and nature lover it is a nightmare. Unfortunately, if you have reservations it will cost you $5 a day to cancel and leave.
Likely Colorado and its National parks in high altitude (near 9k feet) will be more what I am looking for ...which is NOT cheap rent, considering gas prices I dont even understand why these "campers" dont get roomates and stay home, since they mostly "sit and eat".
Great information ☮️🙏☯️
Brian, did you see any dogs in your time there.?
If you just show up without paying to reserve a spot is it hit and miss, or are you Guaranteed a primitive spot
Where do you buy a blue water filter like yours? Thanks
We've added it to the video description above, but just in case here is a link: amzn.to/3OvAOP6
Its just a camco tastepure water filter. You can also get them at walmart. Hope this helps!
I tried several times to make a reservation and couldn’t get it to work. Could’ve been a temporary thing that’s fixed now. 🤷🏼
