    My biggest problem with Lexa's death was that she was the best character on the show and they gave her a stupid death. She was the best fighter but she died so anti-climatically

    • @mollyandris7036

      I didn't care for her character and I don't agree with her being the best character on the show. But I do think she deserved a better death. I mean c'mon, getting hit by a stray bullet? She should've died in a battle or a fight or something

      Lexa wasn't the "best" character, she was far from it, she was a horrible selfish character, 1 of the most overrated characters ever created and I like the fact that she died so anticlimactically.

    "Home" should be #1. I watched it the night it aired and I STILL shudder thinking about it. That there is some powerful writing and acting. The others? I've seen a few of them, but... nope, "Home" takes the Gold Medal.

      Considering the view people have around male rape victims to the point that it's actually normalised in society compared to the rape of women, which is abhorred even by murderers, the rape of a man in anything wouldn't be deemed controversial whatsoever, more like business as usual.

      @@bubbledreams6382 Nearly nobody thinks it is romantic by modern morals, but considering it's a story that takes place in the 1600s, you really have to see things in context. In the book it is quite well described how Claire too issue with Jamies behavior and had him promise never to hit her again.

    I'm gay, but I was not out-raged that Lexa died because she was gay, I'm out-raged at the way she died. She was such a badass character, and then to die by a stray bullet by her father figure is dumb. Not to mention bad writing, as Clarke is a goddamn healer and she got shot in the stomach. And the fact they were in Lexa's own palace(idk what to call it or if it had a name, been awhile) none of her guards or anyone else came for her. Logically, she couldn't have died that quickly or at all under these circumstances. Sexuality completely aside, this was bad writing. (i dont mean that her death in general was bad writing, i just mean the way she did. i would be sad, but if she at least died a more glorious way, i'd be happy)

    The outrage over Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken makes no sense to me. I don't see how you can think it's okay to spend a season watching Theon Greyjoy getting tortured, castrated and brainwashed, to see a pregnant woman fatally stabbed in the uterus, to have a character that forcibly impregnated his daughters then forcibly impregnated his daughters' daughters, but one rape scene is going to far. It's especially ridiculous considering that the show had previously included rape scenes that were far more graphic than that one. GoT is widely known for its violent content, there's a warning that appears before every episode of it. If you can't handle watching that sort of thing, the show is not for you.

      The thing is the rape scene was totally idiotic. Sansa became a stronger, more confident person in season 4. Only to break her character again. Why even build up her earlier then? Sansa is still a virgin in the books, she never met Ramsay and is still in the Vale with Robyn. Why would Baelish accept to marry her off to another man, when he is clearly in love with her (as creepy as it is)? He finally has what he desires, yet ships her off like one of his whores in KL. His moves just don't make sense

    • @BeautifulSenorita
      @BeautifulSenorita 5 лет назад +5

      1) Because it doesn't happened in the books.
      2) Sophie Turner was 18 at this time.
      3) It doesn't make any sense Sansa would marry another man and she is actually married to Tyrion. No stop trying to explain how makes sense because it is not.
      4) It doesn't make any fucking sense either that Sansa would marry the enemy to revenge like really can anyone explain the revenge plan again??
      4) The showrunners was marketing this storyline as Sansa making sacrifices. sacrifice for what?
      5) It's 2015 and writers are still writing the "rape makes women stronger" bullshit!!

      Having Charlotte kill herself was an even worse decision. They killed off a major book character and then the pay off for that story line is 40 minutes of her feeling kinda bad and then deciding she's better off dead and then everyone moves on.
      They could have given Charlotte a strong redemption arc and had her come full circle as nightmares about her parents being floated turn to nightmares of her murdering Wells.
      With her having to mature knowing she did a thing worse than what was done to her parents and fighting to always do the right thing in the future.
      But nope they just had her kill the only fleshed out black youth on the show and then take about a day before deciding to kill herself. It's poor wasteful writing so I never made it past season 1.

      bishop51807 From a realistic point, that makes no sense, taste is subjective, you might think something was crap but 3 billion might have enjoyed it. This is the problem with the current wave of entitlement. Everyone believes their opinion matters, when unless it's a democratic vote, it doesn't, it's important and it defines you as a person but people should not ever believe their opinion is more important than someone's feelings. People having a rant on fb is more effective than contacting someone who's creating something themselves (which is more than the people wanting to write are doing), to tell them they need to do better, just because they think so. Nope, an adult stops watching, leaves a negative review and moves on with their life knowing that a tv shows content has no effect on their lives and if it does, maybe they need to get help with readjusting to reality.

    That Maude episode was one of the best written. Beatrice Arthur did a wonderful job in portraying a woman who had two decisions to make, have a baby at that age or answer a question that many people would be to scared to do or be afraid of doing. You shouldnt be afraid to make a decision if you are not ready to have a baby. Bea did a good job in the episode and the episode opened a discussion during the legal dispute in the 70s.

      I'm sorry I could never condone abortion. I understand that Maude and her husband were of a certain age but apparently she became pregnant for a reason. If they didn't want another baby, they should have been more careful or one of them should have gotten fixed. A baby should never be punished for just wanting to exist. Abortion is a major hot button issue and probably always will be, but I will always be pro life.

    • @dickmelsonlupot7697
      @dickmelsonlupot7697 7 лет назад +4

      Dylan Tka it wasn't really that "controversial" actually. People especially those who knew the story of the comics already knew what was about to happen when Negan is physically introduced especially when in the comics Glenn is killed by Negan and Abraham's death was long overdue and he was supposed to get that arrow to the eye and not the lesbian doctor so yeah, no suprise there. The only difference was that Glenn had more of an emotional impact especially when they kept Maggie alive (and yeah Maggie is supposed to be dead) and she's pregnant with Glenn's child and the fact that this soon to be father that we all liked gave the death scene of Glenn more emotional impact than it should.

    Remember when all the feminists said they would never watch Game of Thrones again after the rape scene of Sansa calling it "more unnecessary violence against women"? Yet they are now not only back to watching it but are defending all of Thirteen Reasons Why's graphic rape and suicide scenes that were recommended not to be used by just about every licensed psychologist out there. As they could lead to suicide (and they have in several cited situations from copycats of the show, look it up).
    PS the book did that scene way more graphic that Game of Thrones show did. Even if it wasn't Sansa why does that make the impact less important? In the books Ramsey made Theon "get the girl ready for him" by you know, licking her down there. At least they not only didn't go that far but legit didn't show anything and ended the scene very fast. They made it about as tame as they could while still keeping the main thing they wanted to portray which is that Ramsey is a monster who must be despised and killed viciously. This makes Sansa's killing of him later on more impactful.

    The controversy on Lexa's death is not just because it's a damaging trope (killing a gay character minutes after consumating their love with their partner) but also because of the queerbaiting that Jason (showrunner) and staff did previously to it.

    • @MissSallyB1
      @MissSallyB1 7 лет назад +17

      Ah, the days when queerbaiting initially meant "straight guy lures a gay guy supposedly for sex but ends up beating the shit out of him" instead of "wah wah my ship got sunk".

      Miriam Garcia actually he had writers go on safe zone websites and say that lexa wasn't going to die and cause trauma. So that's baiting the fans into watching season 3 all the way to her death which as you know crippled the show.

    • @MiriamGarcia-uw7fi
      @MiriamGarcia-uw7fi 7 лет назад +5

      Ali3ngazer Where. Is. The. Evidence? Burden of proof, baby. You have to back of these assertions you're making. Show me proof that JASON ordered his writers to go to safe zones. I know Shawna Benson was involved, but there's no evidence (unless you know something I don't?) Jason sent her nor were her comments malicious (from what I've read, courtesy of Clexas).
      Obviously they weren't going to hand out a spoiler for a yet unaired season. It's dumb to expect them to ruin a huge plot point before the episode's been aired. No showrunners/ writers/ cast members would ever give that kind of info. Also, no one promised she wouldn't die, they just said she was alive which she was because 307 had yet to air.
