- According to the prevailing opinion of archaeologists, the rock Golgotha lies directly in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, where this video is recorded.
And in the New Testament is written that Jesus was crucified at Golgotha, “the place of the skull” (Matt. 27:33-35, Mark 15:22-25, John 19:17-24).

When we came there last 2016 it’s stills building this and not yet finished wow!!! You can literally see the indent on the stairs from the generations of pilgrims coming up to see where our savior was mocked, scourged, and crucified. Fascinating.

After David killed Goliath, he put his armor in his tent and carried his head to Jerusalem and placed it outside of the city for the birds to pluck out the eyes and the beasts of the field to eat the flesh thereof. The place was after this known as the place of the skull, Golgatha (Goliath of Gath). The place of the skull of Goliath of Gath. The location is across the valley east of the Gihon Spring where Solomon's temple was built. "The river flowed from under the Throne of God".
When Jesus was crucified there, the sky turned dark, there was a great earthquake, and the veil of the temple was torn in two from the top to the bottom. The centurion, after seeing all of these things proclaimed that Jesus was surely the Son of God. The only place he could have witnessed the veil being torn was through the eastern gate.
