Thanks for showing how to do it right. I was experimenting put instant coffe in a inside out sock wet it a little bit and rub it in actually turned out nice
I have a few older racks from bucks I’ve taken that need to be freshened up. Before you started with the stainless brush and stain did you do anything special to prep the antlers or just wash them to remove any dirt, blood and other contaminants?
Hi you already answered my question but I am still a little confused. Sorry, the wood stain that you are using. Did you add the polyurethane to the stain or does it already have polyurethane in it? I researched the can that you are using and it said to add polyurethane after staining for maximum protection. It’s oil based correct? Thanks again
Yes that's correct. I don't like to use the polyurethane blend because you don't want the antler to have a gloss glassy looking finish. The regular stain will just penetrate the bone and color it without adding sheen
@@thecedarridgechronicles I Am I reading that correct that you do add polyurethane to the can yourself? If so how much. Sorry I had 3 people read your answer and we can figure out. Thanks
Well done man. I do exactly the same way.
Outstanding
Very good work! I will be trying this on a big dead head I found!

Exactly what I needed to know, thanks brother

Thank you!

Wash them with Dawn and water 👍
What type of brush did you use? Is it like a tooth brush or would a toothbrush work?
I actually use a small foam brush. It's a little easier to control how much stain penetrates at a time

No I don't use polyurethane at all. Only the stain
@@thecedarridgechronicles Perfect! Thank you very much for your time.
What’s the concentration of the mixture? Thanks
It's just regular wood stain from the hardware store straight out of the can
@@thecedarridgechronicles I got a little confused when you said it’s a mixture with polyurethane?
