    I usually place the shipping tube inside a box, so everything is safe and I don't have to pay extra! :D

    I thought that only in Mexico post offices were rude with packages! Your protocol for packaging your work is interesting, plus the added value of the details like the thank you note and your sticker with your logo, you make it become an experience to receive and open your prints. As we say here "experiment on someone else's head", it is very humble of you to share all that and it is appreciated, I only make one or two shipments a year hahaha but I think that now I can do better. May your success continue!

    I work in the manufacture of label adhesives, and want to mention that those adhesives can migrate and flow through thin materials, especially if exposed to higher temps and humidty. You might want to reconsider putting that label on top of your art, even with a piece of tissue paper in between.

    Shipping lessons are a continue learning experience. Speaking from experience it is shocking how easy it is to oil stain or dirty a print with what we think are clean hands. The gloves are key all the time with the prints

      I think if the print material agrees, you should use pencil! Sometimes the type of paper or canvas won’t work well with pencil so you can use a fine-tip permanent marker or something like that!

      Most shipping processes are automated and even at the stages that aren't there just isn't the time to be gentle which is why really good packaging is so important. You CAN get gentle shipping though, it's just VERY expensive because it's through personal courier services.

    I have a small question, when you make an edition with 10 prints, do you repeat those prints but with new numbering? In other words, do you make a second, third... edition?

      Hi Mariana! So each painting is made into a 10 print limited edition, meaning that I can only print 10 copies. If I wanted to make a whole new edition (more copies of the painting) in the future, they would have to somehow be different, like a bigger or smaller size, for example. Hope that helps!

    I wonder if those can be shipped on a flat box, or is it more expensive? And they don't t curl up too much if rolled?

      Since these prints are 16” by 16”, they’re a little too big to ship flat! I think they’d be at risk of more damage that way 💁🏻‍♀️

    I went through the exact same issue with the boxes at first 😑 I figured out to put the print around the tube and THEN into a box. PITA but 🤷🏼‍♀️ the post office is diabolical lol.

      I have not! Just because the pieces I’m shipping are too big for that. But I have seen other artists use them, so I think it could be a good option depending on the specs of your commissions!

    Hmmm, still waiting for my print. Yes, I got an email stating it was on the way...but dumba$$ me, I deleted it. So, I have no idea where my order is. This is not a complaint about Brooke...as you can see, she pays extreme attention to what she does. Fingers crossed it finally arrives.

    The problem with boxes is that they get stacked and stacked on top of. Mailing tubes don’t get stacked on, so on top of the slightly superior rigidity of a cylinder, nothing gets put on top of them.

      @@b.cormier I don't know what Canada's mail would charge for them but you could also try triangular shipping tubes. They are stronger than rectangular boxes and stack better so avoid surcharges in some systems.

      @@Sea0fTime I looked into this and you're right, you can avoid the surcharges with triangular tubes - the issue is that where I buy my boxes (Uline) the minimum purchase is a package of 50, which is too much at the moment. But I will certainly consider it in the future!

    Hi Brooke, thanks so much for this video. If you had multiple prints in the order, how would you package them - each in their own shipping tube or combined in one tube? Also, I'm not sure if you ship size A4 but if so would you ship in a tube or flat? Thanks :)

      For multiple prints I stack them on top of each other with a piece of acid free tissue paper between and roll them all together 😊 you might be better securing this role with rubber bands instead of tape to make sure it holds! And I don’t sell A4 size prints but I have heard of artists shipping that size in flat cardboard sleeves - just make sure they’re sturdy enough and hopefully don’t bend at the corners!

    Where did you get your shipping tubes from? I'm in Ontario, but they are hard to find at a good price with decent shipping!

      I get them from Uline.ca! They have a huge variety - you can find anything that fits your needs, the only thing is that you have to buy in bulk (usually the minimum order is at least 25 pieces) and I find their prices for shipping pretty pricey… but they’re good products and if you have the space to store them, even better!

I've never used Square Space before, so I'm not sure if its better, but I can say that overall I'm a pretty satisfied Shopify customer!       Though, as you saw in the video, I did have a some issues with these. Uline customer service recommended these ones ( www.uline.com/Product/ProductDetail?modelnumber=S-981 ) which look good, I just didn't need 100 of them haha. Hope that helps!

    I have a question, do you number each batch of prints separately? say you make 30 at a time, but they aren’t necessarily limited edition. Do you still number each batch as 1/30, etc?

      Good question! If you plan on not putting a limit on the amount of prints you make of a specific piece, then you can’t number them. You can still sign them, but if you put 1/30 for example, then you can only produce 30. If you want to make several batches of the same piece and number them, each batch would have to be different in some way (dimensions, material, etc.) hope that helps! 😊

    I ALWAYS ... ALWAYS roll up my prints in a tube , and then put the tube in a box padded enough so the tube doesnt roll around ..... you end up paying more by weight, but the stupid extra charge for mailing in a round doesn't apply. Canada post are VULTURES
