Belfast Trouble

  • The Riots in Belfast after the Henry Joy McCracken Hate Parade were caused by a combination of things.
At NO TIME were Loyalist Paramilitaries responsible for the violence.
If they were responsible for anything, it was for simply not trying to stop it.
Why should they try to stop it though & then take the brunt of the PUL communities' frustration?
Each year Loyalists have helped calm down situations at so called peace lines. They have put themselves at Ardoyne at every occasion when asked to do so, saving millions on the policing bill while doing so too no doubt. Every year the anger within the PUL community has grown because of the restrictions implemented by the Republican Parades Commission. That anger has now grown towards some Loyalists for trying to help the situation around the Parades.
    Why do people get Frustrated?
Because they have had No Truth, No Justice or No Accountability.
We have seen hundreds of millions spent on Inquiries. Bloody Sunday, Pat Finucane, Rosemary Nelson, and Robert Hamill etc. Then there is the call for inquiries into Newlodge, Ballymurphy, McGurks, & no doubt more to come.
However what of Bloody Friday, Claudy,Darkley,Tullyvallen, Birmingham, Balmoral Furniture Shop, Enniskillen, Teebane, La Mon House, Shankill & many many more massacres of innocents?
People are indeed entitled to Truth, Justice, and Accountability.
But have these inquiries served both communities?
Over the last 18 years we have been told that we are living in Peace. Yet every year there is thousands of attacks.
From the Northern Bank Robbery, Castlereagh Burglary, Robert McCartney, Andrew Kearney, Paul Quinn up to Andrew Allen recently.
The Deaths of Sappers Azimkar & Quinsey, Constable Carroll & Kerr, the terrible injuries of Constable Heffron. The constant attacks on policemen, policewomen & police barracks.
All of the above carried out by IRA men & IRA weapons. Not Dissidents. But PIRA Weapons & Disgruntled PIRA members, using weapons that were supposed to have been decommissioned.
Then there is the Historical Enquiry Team.
Will Gerry Adams be arrested for the deaths of constables Cunningham & Haslett or for directing terrorism? McGuinness for Frank Hegarty. Or any republican of any value ?
Republican Gerry McGeough who was jailed, rightfully so, had served his purpose & was taken care of for SF. Do the HET only want to arrest those opposed to Peace & Loyalists?
Then there is the Republican Parades Commission.
The PUL community see Republican Violence being paid each time they cause carnage by another restriction on a PUL parade.
The RPC quickly forget that any violence that surfaces around parades is violence carried out by Republicans.
The Orange Order, RBP, ABOD, Protestants, Unionists, Loyalists didn't wreck the Catholic part of Ardoyne. Republican Hoods Did.
Local rags say that Loyalists being at a RBP parade proved they started this violence.
    Why?
    And where should Loyalists be?
Giving that Republicans are attacking our Culture & our Britishness, should Loyalists not be at these parades to make sure they are not attacked & defend them if they are?
Every camera during these parades is focused towards the PUL community.
    Why?
Does SF have such a strong grip that reporters will do anything, like a junkie, for a photo or few lines from them?
There have been hundreds of attacks on Orange Halls. Halls that are used by all the community, Catholics included. Some burnt to the ground. Bands have lost thousands of pounds worth of band equipment. Not to mention the historical value of some of the banners etc lost.
Over 1 million Protestants are asked to accept mass murderers like Gerry Kelly & Co into government. Yet these killers of their children are trying to take away their rights. Rights that SF Ira cried about being denied for years.
The PUL parades walk by Ardoyne with their heads held high, while Sean Kelly the Shankill Bomber & Child Killer stands watching, protesting at them doing so.
The PUL community walked for decades down by St Patricks, No doubt stopping over the years outside it to play music. Killer Joe Fatz Doherty & JJ Magee have just seen an opportunity to score a cheap point though & made this parade contentious too.
    Why?
Why when we are living in this new shared country do republicans not want to share?
Simple. Because they want to eradicate every tiny morsel of Protestantism & Britishness.
Sticks & Stones May Break Your Bones But Flutes Will Never Harm You.

Funny how all the blurbs at the start accuse the police of lashing out at people for no reason (despite the fact they have reason, it's just carefully withheld from the camera's view screen), and yet when these idiots with nothing better to do stand and throw bricks at the police at point blank range all the blurbs can say is a whole lot of tripe which is unrelated to what we are looking at. How about a couple of lines here and there asking them what sort of peaceful resolution they are aiming for by constantly throwing projectiles? Or would that not help your 'cause'?

The police are far too soft. All this trouble is normally started by the working-class protestant and catholic communities who are always moaning and fighting like children. Both as bad as each other. The police need to toughen up to get this under control. I think a little bit of vigilance goes a long way.

I started, & will continue, uploading these videos when I can, not only to highlight the Republican Appeasement Policy, but also to bring attention to Protestant victims, & their families fight for Truth Justice & Accountability, all of which they have not received, & also to celebrate a thriving, proud PUL Culture.
Im sure it's not that hard, even for someone as sharp as yourself, to see that the vast majority of media attention, & financial aid, concerning victims, Bloody Sunday, Pat Finucane, Rosemary Nelson, Robert Hamill, is around Catholics.
Which is why I ask, do you ever hear anyone from within these campaigns speak about getting any of the three for those killed in La Mon House Enniskillen, Balmoral Furniture Shop & countless other Protestant Massacres?
So, although I recognise & agree with, the Catholic community getting all three, I also believe enough is being done for that community to highlight their fight, while literally nothing is being done for the PUL Community, & chose to concentrate what little effort I can towards that community.

Royalist, to be fair you talk a lot of sense in the posts I've read below. Can I ask you, and I'm the son of a Falls Rd Catholic who left before the troubles, what do you make do you make of the claim that Unionism discriminated against Catholics from the foundation of the NI. That successive Unionist govts blighted the prosperity and opportunity for generations of Catholics and when these said Catholics marched for civil rights, they were attacked by a sectarian police force. What else can one expect but an armed response to that? Right or wrong, this is largely the perception for the origin of the troubles in the Republic and here in Boston where I now live. Is their a counter argument? By the way I've always wondered...what do the colors on the sash's loyalists wear stand for?

    • @63gc

      +CALLIT ASITIS
Did Unionism discriminate against Catholics? Yes.
Did Unionism treat working class Protestants any better? No
Before the troubles began both Catholic & Protestant alike, on the Shankill & Falls lived side by side. In fact the houses today are exactly the same, you just have to look at Percy Street, Shankill/Falls Road, to see that.
Then after August 1969 barricades went up across streets dividing both. Both lived in the same houses on either side & had the same problems. At the beginning of the Civil Rights movement, both Catholic & Protestant took part, because they were suffering the same conditions, however this changed once Republicanism got involved.
Was there political policing in Northern Ireland then? Yes.
Is there now against Protestants?, & are the Police as Sectarian today as then?
Armed response? The killing of innocents within Sectarian Bomb & Gun attacks is not an armed response, & no death is worth any cause. 5 bombs on the Shankill Road alone left 25 Innocent Protestants, Not British Army, Police or even Paramilitaries, dead. The same can be said about McGurks etc.
      Is there a counter argument?
The Protestant community fearing continuous IRA Campaigns, or being forced into unification, while having those fears played on by Fur Coat Unionism, & looking at what they done as defending, rightly or wrongly, as you say, is the counter argument. The deaths & attacks were real, their fears were real. The deaths were wrong.
Speaking to Republicans, they now admit themselves that unification was never on the table, nor will be. 1000's dead, 1000's of families suffering death, mental & physical scars, 1000's jailed, families wrecked, people put out of homes & country.
Perception is a very dangerous thing. Especially when only one narrative is put out.
Many believe that because I am a Loyalist I'm an Orangeman, however I have never been, nor had any desire to be, in the Orange Order. It held no appeal to me at all. So I dont own a Sash.
I googled it myself, as although I did know it was from the House of Orange, I dont know anything else about it.
      en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_of_Orange-Nassau.
      Good Luck.

+Royalist Loyalist Media Nice one royalist. Always wanted to hear what the counter argument would have been without it descending into a row. Sounds to me like both sides have preconceived misconceptions of the other and that these are misconceptions caused led to enormous wrongs committed on both sides. Personally I'd like to see unity. But I know many from the south who do not want anything to do with NI. There are those in the south who cringe at the idea of having to share power with unionists in any future UI. They look at the bible belt inspired DUP and say under no circumstances would they want these 17th century loons having any say in our gov. (There words not mine) So as much as loyalism abhors the idea of a UI, the feeling is mutual among many southerners for dif reasons. My own opinion is that the Brits are sick shit of NI and would gladly get out of it tomorrow. I think they have set the pieces for some form of withdrawal and when the time is right (that means avoiding a bloodbath) they will go. Whether they leave behind a UI or some form of independent statelet remains to be seen. Ofcourse I might be all wrong....who knows.

+Royalist Loyalist Media Quick question if you wouldnt mind...do you consider yourself British, Irish, or both? I'm from Cork by the way...if you have any questions about my home county ask away.

I'll tell you about a Kerryman with a few hundred volunteers managed to defeat an empire, Lloyd George described west Cork as ungovernable, men like Tom Barry of the 3rd west Cork brigade, and Dan Breen in his position in Tipp, now I pass a plaque in Blarney street quite often, to 19 year old, Dennis Spriggs who was tortured and murdered there by crown forces for the sake of a glass of whiskey in a pub in sundays well. I would take no part in the free state so called 100 centenary. I pray for every man and woman who contributed to the cause of Irish National liberation and socialism.

+CALLIT ASITIS The future of Northern Ireland I believe will be a new generation of citizens who consider themselves Northern Irish first. Not British, Not Irish. We have seen this merging of society already with sport transcending the religious divide. Many Catholics now go to Ulster rugby games when in 1970s it was a night out for the RUC, Judges and Protestant elites. We now have a 50/50 Police Force who we can all hate equally. Ha! The GAA has removed the ban on British Force members playing. We have seen stories of sectarianism as these various sports bodies try and merge which is to be expected. Breaking decades of tradition doesn't come easy. Being a sports fan myself I dream of the day we have a Northern Ireland rugby team and Boxers can fight for Northern Ireland. At the minute if you're good enough to be an international athlete in these sports you have to represent Ireland. There are many things like this still to be settled. The road is long.

So sure l'm an Ulster Orangeman, from Erin's isle I came,
To see my British brethren all of honour and of fame,
And to tell them of my forefathers who fought in days of yore,
That I might have the right to wear, the sash my father wore!
    Chorus:
It is old but it is beautiful, and its colours they are fine
It was worn at Derry, Aughrim, Enniskillen and the Boyne.
My father wore it as a youth in bygone days of yore,
And on the Twelfth I love to wear the sash my father wore.
    Chorus
For those brave men who crossed the Boyne have not fought or died in vain
Our Unity, Religion, Laws, and Freedom to maintain,
If the call should come we'll follow the drum, and cross that river once more
That tomorrow's Ulsterman may wear the sash my father wore!
    Chorus
And when some day, across the sea to Antrim's shore you come,
We'll welcome you in royal style, to the sound of flute and drum
And Ulster's hills shall echo still, from Rathlin to Dromore
As we sing again the loyal strain of the sash my father wore!

I watched the video and the only thing I can say it is that the police behaved like sheep , can not see any reason to complain but the change of uses, the loyalist were use to smell the police asses meanwhile they hit up the republicans they are use the police to be their guard dogs ,now after the peace the police and the politicians try to keep a more balance situations towards the bigots of both sides , this is hard to take for the loyalist and they cry like queers , they always considered the police and the army as their allies against the republicans , with this video you are making a fool of yourself , no police in any other country would tolerate this amount of violence .
