Here's the thing: I feel the way the Bob does, trapped, monotonous, etc. The only difference is the fact that I'm not even in the workforce yet. I'm still in school, and yet I'm having "what-I-am-I-doing-with-my-life" crisis's. And, it's kind of scary, to feel like you are unimportant, or that doing the same thing every day (in this case going to school) will make no difference in the world whatsoever. This probably doesn't mean anything to anybody but I just thought that I could put my thoughts out there since it's relevant to the video. And, because Jack mentioned it, I just want to say that I care about Jack and every person in this community. You all have helped me and so many others, and I thank you for that.

I'm in the same position and I've been trying to escape for so long, my parents constantly get on my case for failing, and I just can't do it. As I'm typing this I'm hungover on Xanax pills since I just wanted to escape... My life is not going in a good direction and I don't know what the hell to do... Hold on to yourself, and don't do anything too stupid, and you should be fine, I wish you the best.

Yo I started crying in the end. I'm studying engineering in school so far and it's totally NOT what I want. I'm literally just doing this because of my parents. Everyday I don't want to wake up because I don't want to waste my days with things I don't like. I'm probably gonna grow up to be an engineer for my parents even though they never stop to ask what I want. The end talk just made me think more about that. However, I honestly don't have anyone to talk to and I feel like I'm not cared by anyone so it just made me feel. I never feel loved or at home anywhere. But when I watch Jack, I feel like he's my home. He's the one that always makes me smile. Sadly to him I'm just another face in the crowd of fans. I'm sorry I'm ranting. Get your degree, and then do what you want. Your parents only want you to have something to secure a good job in case whatever you want to do does not works, so you can sustain yourself and your own family in the future. Also consider that if you go around saying that nobody cares for you, when the ones who care for you hear it they'll start taking distance.

damn, this was deep.
this really rang with me, i'm only 13 and i don't have a job. but i think about stuff like this everyday, and how life is so short to just be sitting there doing monotonous work. i have absolutely no idea where to go to in my life, but i don't want to end up there, but it's really hard to get out of that possibility. i'm always dreaming about a world where jobs were actually fun, and people enjoyed what they were doing, but most of the time i know that only some people get to do that, and the other unlucky ones get stuck doing the tough but necessary jobs for a society.
i've only recently kind of gotten out of my huge existential crisis, but i just want to say what thought can help me endure school: whatever work you do, it doesn't have to be your life. tell yourself that whatever job you're doing, you're working to be able to do what you love. if you keep thinking that, time might just fly a bit faster at work or school, it gives you a boost of motivation. keeping a positive mindset will bring you halfway there, and the rest, just take it slow.

I've never related to a game more than this one. I'm in a dead end job myself, with no hope for advancement, no social life, no idea what I'm going to do with my life, constantly in a state of existential crisis, and not always having a lot of time to "get away," like watching Jack here, or the ballgame or whatever. The only difference is that I'd never consider suicide to escape, even though that may be the only thing that stops the stress. So I'm pretty much trapped until some external force (or my own stress) kills me. That being said, Jack, you help people like me cope and escape from the perpetual torment called life so much more than anybody realizes. Thank you for everything you do.
TK God help you, I feel a lot of the same way but im in school, im scared of having to work meaninglessly for the rest of my life so i can retire, then die. RUclips and music are really good distractions. I recently broke up with my bf ive been dating for 2 years, it was a big difficult leap but something has to change and sometimes we just need to do it. If theres a club youve been thinking of going to just do it or asking a girl out or whatever. Its scientifically proven that something as simple as driving a different route to work makes you happier. Taking it day by day is how i do it, and i set rewards for myself (usually food or watching jacks recent video). And always know that its not okay now because its not the end. Sorry i rambled haha

Believe it or not, in my previous job, and after I lost it, your videos were indeed what I came back to every day. You did help me a lot, and while I know all too well I can never get over my mental disorders, I just want to say one thing to you, even though you will probably never read it: you saved my life. Again and again and again. I'm not doing well, and I won't be for a long time, but the connection I feel with you whenever I watch any of your videos helps me to keep holding on to that edge I tried to let go of so many times.
I hope you never have to feel the disappointment of waking up the morning after you took far too many Xanax pills and downed them with beer to amplify their effect, hoping you will drift away in your sleep, or the pain that leads you to banging your head on the door hoping it'll split into two, or the emptiness and that feeling of being hollow that brings you to hurting yourself so much that you leave scars on your arms and legs, because you need to feel that you are alive somehow.
Changing jobs sometimes is all it takes to make it better. Four months ago I thought it was a curse that I was fired, now I feel like I was blessed. I found a wonderful new job, and a much better life, and it is indeed going better.
I can't fully get over it, but I can keep it under control, and well, I think I'll manage.
And I have to say, I haven't been a member of this community for very long, but I love it so much, I got so much support when I needed it.

Since this video had a serious end, I want to say this despite the fact Jack won't see it. I haven't been watching him super long, but so far he's helped me through a lot. I remember one day I woke up, and already, I was crying. I couldn't force myself out of bed, but I watched some of Jack's videos and I actually started laughing and I felt motivated to get out of bed and do some things that day. So people can laugh all they want, but Jack really cares about his fans, and we care about him. He's made an amazing and supportive community so I just want to thank him and and all of you for just being such great people and such a great community. Sorry this was such a long comment, I just thought it was the appropriate time to post it.

Hey, I just wanted to say something if you were debating whether to or not self harm/commit. The hardest thing to deal with sometimes, is life. So far I've had some depression, I haven't found any real cure for me. you might feel extremely helpless, but if theres one thing I can attest to it's that it DOES get better. I've struggled with depression for the last 5 years. No one seemed to care whether or not I was alive, at the time I was in school and even the administrators and teachers were absolute trash to me. Last year though, I found a person who shared my interests and we became extremely close friends. This year we both told each other how we were depressed and that we basically saved eachother. So long story short, try to talk to people, try as hard as you can to find someone similar to you who you can depend on. It makes life 100x easier.
I went through some personal image problams and you are right. I also think that loving yourself is just as important and blocking out any toxic person who bullies you. Be yourself and your real friends will come evntually. I love you for being you.
I"m 9 yrs depressed, sometimes it doesn't get better you just have to make the decision to live until our creator decides it's time to end it for you. If I knew for sure what awaited me on the other side my decision may be different, but as far as i know now and my research leads me to believe it's not my place or in my best interest to play God. Crystal Mack yeah, sometimes it doesnt. But that still doesnt mean to give up happiness. I wasnt implying you have, just things do change. My friend shes had anxiety since she was 2 and depressed for 7 years. She hasnt been happy for a while since. She says though that at one point this year she was legitimately happy. My friend gives me hope and is my motivation. We also told each other that we both were the only people that when we're around each other we are legitimately happy for that section of the day. Just so you know that theres always a time where change can happen.

This is the main reason why I love Sean. Whenever he looks up from his screen, it really feels like he is looking at you rather than just looking at a camera. Dammit Jack you got me to cry. What you said really touched me. Especially the "we all belong somewhere" bit. It just makes me feel extremely lucky to have a boyfriend that deeply cares for me. I know how it feels to not have friends, no one to talk to out of school/work. That just makes it all the more important to cherish who and what you have.

I feel like this points out that it's always Monday because no matter who, when, or where, there is always someone feeling this way. Also, the different steps to freedom could represent the way people often deal with this feeling. Some people distract themselves (chatroulette), some go to a place that calms them (fish pond), some try and brighten other people's lives (secretary), some resort to violence (one punch the boss man), and some people simply decide to end it all (window). This was a very powerful presentation of so many different cases of the same emotion. I am very impressed. Congrats to the game creator and congrats to Jack for playing this so I could see it. =]

I have big dreams and it's my only option in life. If I can't live my dream, I have failed. I can't imagine myself doing anything else and I don't want to imagine myself doing anything else. It scares me. I want my dreams to come true and it will... Because I'm going to try my very best.
I 100% agree...
I want to have a career in art, and people keep telling me I'm going to end up a starving artist, but I know I can get through and have the career I want, it's more than "what if that art thing doesn't work out?" There are millions of careers that are more than the generic label, I'm not going to just slap paint on a canvas and sell it to a museum, I've got options, I've got ambition, and I've got the will to keep going and keep improving. So no matter what, I will get a career in art, and everyone should strive to meet their goals in life, you just gotta keep moving forward.
You may think "I want this or that unless I won't be happy" but in the end, you don't really know until the moment you will live those things. Maybe you will end up happy in a way that you will not expect to. It's the difference between what you want and what you need, I guess. To me it was reassuring when I realized this though.
Forrest the Runner its the same for me. I want a career in art, i want to be able to make art from home and make something I'm proud of as well as make others happy. I believe art can be a career if you really try for it and work hard. Its a hard career to build up, but you can learn as you go and im hoping it works out well.

Most of November I was having major depression issues and I was planning suicide at some point because I just gave up. It may sound crazy but after watching your videos I started to feel better and I've been watching them. I've been watching you since you started and I loved your content. I really needed the message at the end of the vid today. I didnt really understand what this ment when I was a kid but now that im older and have a job this kinda just hit super hard because it truly feels like Im just sitting down with a old freind after a day of work that had me qusetioning everything that ive dun up to this point. At the time that this video was released, and when I first saw it, I didn't have the experience to realize how special Jack is. Now I am grown up, and realize how rare it is to find someone like Jack, especially someone as popular as him, that is still like him. I love him.

jacksepticeye the thing about jack I like the most is that he is so modest and there are few you tubers who appreciate what they do.
I used to believe that I had to get a 'sensible' job, one that I knew I would hate, in order to support myself. I'm a creative person, I love art and writing. I used to pray that I'd be able to do RUclips as a job--until I realized I'm not good at that at all, haha. But now I've only got one more year of high school, and I've made my decision: I'm not going to do something I hate when I'm an adult. So that's why I'm trying my hand at graphic design, and hopefully one day I'll be a published author. Wish me luck guys :)

Tristan Lee, that's awesome. I had to go to therapy too. I don't go anymore because I get anxtous and I feel like it's making the problem worst. But I have extreme depression and I'll go a couple weeks or even months without feeling sad or numb and then it hits me it of nowhere. I hope you're better now. (Edit:) I actually think that the reason I'm on RUclips so much now is because, along with other things, it's a release or something like that.
Stay positive, and if jack makes you feel like you have a friend then you should keep watching him. To me he is a great person, my role model. Stay safe.

I just wanted to say thank you, Sean, for literally being the best youtuber I've ever watched on this website. There are a lot of really good people on here that do good things and aren't just doing this job for the money or fame but actually want to make people feel better and I can say with full certainty that you are doing just that.
I have been stuck in a really awful place for the past year or so and I just recently found your vids about a month or 2 ago when I watched you play Detroit: Become Human and I fell in love with your charisma and Happiness because that is exactly what I needed in my life and still do. You and your videos truly brighten my days every day I watch them because you're so positive and you really care about your fans. I really tried not to get emotional typing this but you've done so much to get me through the really dark times in my life recently and I'm so grateful that I'm able to have something like that and I'm sure so many other fans of yours feel the same way I do.

You sound like me when I talk to my friend. She recently told me that she's been feeling quite depressed and whenever she hangs out with people it's ends with her crying by herself in her room. She's even been contemplating suicide, and the only reason she thinks the only reason she might be alive is because she's afraid of hurting herself. I can't relate with her really, but I try really hard to be there for her and talk to her about it, just us two. I feel like you might be my inspiration Jack x 😊
I can understand where they're coming from. Hurting yourself and suicide are scary and I don't personally hurt myself because my family and friends would be devastated. If you want you could try to get her to talk to me, because I might understand more. My Skype is thewiseepicface.

I know this video is old and that nobody will see this comment. But I kinda need to let it off my chest (don’t know if it’s the correct words I don’t speak english very well, sorry).
I started watching your videos a year and a half ago. I’m belgian, my native language is french so I only followed french speaking youtubers for years. My english level improved with time so I decided during the lockdown to go see the english speaking side of RUclips. That’s when I discovered you. And I really love your vibes, I love your passion, and your videos always make me smile. It helped me a lot, at that time I was deeply struggling with the grief of my mom. And it’s still helping me. I just scroll on your channel, take a random video and watch it while playing with my stim toys or video games. Today, I found that one on the clip channel and I was curious so I clicked on the link. My depression became worse again recently, and the night is the time were the suicidal thoughts are coming. Watching this video triggered it at first, and I started feeling bad and fighting even more against those thoughts. I’m currently struggling with the monotonous of school and the ton of work they give us. I don’t feel like I’m really living my life, days are all the same. I don’t even know who I am anymore. What you said at the end helped me to calm down. I’m making it to another day, and I hope it would continue like this. Thank you a lot Seán, you’re amazing

Being out of college with two bachelors and still struggling to find the "dream job" has been especially hard for me the last 2.5 years... I've always had high expectations for myself and seeing where I am now is like me kicking myself til I bleed. While grateful to be working decent money during this pandemic, going into the office job I have every day is steering me away from my idea of a perfect job and sucks any optimism into the void.... Having someone like Sean being able to make me laugh with his content, take me out of my mental struggle for a time, being able to communicate in such a heartfelt way about some things that're tough at times makes a WORLD of difference for me! It's because of that kind, devoted, honest soul that I keep coming back to Sean over anyone else on RUclips.
