Thank you for sharing this realistic video, I was there for many years and then left around December, 2017. All the scenes are so familiar to me, like library, dinning hall, honors college by Paul Martin, etc. Thank you again for sharing the videos.
so ready for college you don't even know! would LOVE to see a video dedicated to the classes you're in and what they entail. a lot of the ones you named are things that interested in! xx just subbed :)
For sure! There are a lot of clubs to join, but you kind of have to seek them out. There's also Greek life if you're interested in that. And there are these things called "connection points" which are events held on campus that are meant to get people involved and meeting people. There are a lot of these the first week of school.
I'm not personally involved in it, but I have a lot of friends who are. There is "rushing" at the beginning of the year where you can check out the different sororities and see if you want to join any.
I liked the video 😄 ❤️ but i wanted to ask you how do u keep yourself motivated and organized as well as what year are you in ? Cuz i am going to be a junior in college and my major is accounting but sometimes i feel overwhelmed and unmotivated what do u advise me to do
I was freshman in this video (and I'm glad you liked it)! There were days when I didn't feel motivated, so I understand what you mean. But for the most part, staying organized helped me stay motivated, and how I stayed organized was by keeping a detailed planner and planning out my weeks in advance. I picked days to study and do homework, and I picked days to go out with friends, and I picked days to just be lazy. I think having the balance of school/friends/lazy days helped me a lot with staying on top of my work. And having days where I would focus on having fun or just hanging out with people helped me be more motivated on the days when I was focused on doing my work, because I just had a fun day and now I'm having a work day. I hope that makes sense and is helpful!!
Hey! I'm going to be attending MTSU in the fall and I had a few questions. Which residence halls do you think are best, and How do you keep yourself disciplined to keep this schedule? Thanks :)
Hi! Corlew and Cummings are both nice dorms, but those are freshman only so if you're not coming in as a freshman you couldn't live there. I prefer the on campus apartments rather than dorms, even though I lived in a dorm last year. If you're interested in those, Womack and Scarlett are the apartment options. Keeping to a schedule can be tough, and I think staying disciplined for me is mostly about allowing myself time for fun and time for working. I actually made a video about how to study in college and I talk about how I schedule my time if you're interested in! Here's the link to it. ruclips.net/video/hI0d7DJGgIE/видео.html
Loved the video! I will be attending MTSU this fall and am majoring in New Media Communication, so I really enjoyed seeing some of the Media Entertainment building. Also, which dorm are you in because I picked Rutledge Hall for mine, and was wondering if the set-up for it was similar to yours.
I am in Beasley, and if you want to see how my room is set up I have a dorm tour video. I've never been in a Rutledge room, though, so I'm not sure if it is similar to mine, I'm sorry :(
Hi! I just happened to run across this video and I immediately subbed! It was great (: I saw that you took a screenwriting class? I am currently majoring in journalism communications since my university does not have a screenwriting major. I am interested in screenwriting and was wondering what you thought about it? They have classes for it at my uni and I am still undecided as to whether or not I should try them out. I love writing and so that is why I thought journalism would be a good option, but I feel like writing about news and media would not be as fun as writing content for tv, movies, and plays, etc... Thanks Katie!
Thank you! I am a film/video major and journalism minor, and I produce for the TV news at my school so I do both news writing and screenwriting, and I have to say screenwriting is more fun, but news writing is easier in my opinion. I think if you are interested in it then you should definitely take at least one screenwriting class! If you decide you don't like it, at least you'll know. And you can also take a media writing class for your major if your uni offers that, which would give you a good way to see if you're more interested in news writing or screenwriting! If you have an questions about either type of writing I would be happy to answer them!! :)
I'm gonna go to MTSU after I graduate high school in 2020, I'm a Junior (11th grader) in high school right now so I got 1 more year which is my Senior year (12th grade) in high school then I'm done with high school, I hope I have a good experience when I go to MTSU for college ☺😃💪👍
yaaay, I finally found a youtuber who goes to MTSU! I have a few questions and am so confused. Okay, so I am going to attend MTSU next year, but i'm so confused about the classes. I will not be living on campus & will be living at home to save $$$. I want to get my day over with early-ish. Would you recommend taking 8am classes? what are the pros & cons? Also, I noticed that you had several short classes. Do you take those every single day or how does that work? I know there is a such this as MWF. Also, will all this be explained at orientation and would you recommend CUSTOMS?
I definitely recommend customs! I went to the first one of the summer before my freshman year. You get to meet your adviser who will help you pick your classes and make your schedule so I wouldn't stress too much about that. 8 A.M.s always sound like a good idea if you want to get your day over with early, but they're pretty much the devil if you don't like waking up early. I don't recommend them, but if you're a morning person and you know you'll be able to handle getting up at 7ish and not keep pressing snooze and skipping class than you could do that. MWF classes are about 55 minutes, MW classes are an hour and a half, and Tuesday Thursday class are an hour and a half. I have two MWF classes, two MW classes and one Tuesday Thursday class. There are no classes that are every single day. For your first semester if you go to an early customs you can be one of the first to pick you classes so most of them will not be full and you can make your schedule what you want, but unless you will be in the honors college all your semesters after that will be a fight for the classes you want because they fill up. If you qualify for the honors program I recommend doing it because you get early registration and you can most likely get into any class without it being full. I'm in the honors college and I love that perk!
If you want to join as a sophomore they look at your GPA from freshman year, so if you have one of at least 3.25. You actually don't have to wait until your sophomore year if you want to try to do it your second semester I think you can. You just have to have taken at least 12 hours of credit your first semester, which is 4 classes and most people take 5 classes per semester. Here's a link to some information about the honors college: www.mtsu.edu/honors/faq.php#eligible
Also going to MTSU in the fall and majoring in journalism. Did you like the theater appreciation class? I'm thinking about transferring to another school and that class is transferable.
It was okay, I took it honors so it was more work than the average theater appreciation class. It was mostly just boring to me, but if you are interested in the history of theater then you would probably like it.
If you're coming in as a freshman, Corlew and Cummings are both really good dorms. They are freshman only though. They are the newest dorms too so that's nice. It's a good school, one of it's only downsides is that there isn't a ton of social stuff. A lot of the people who go here are commuters so it's pretty empty on the weekends.
How long did it take you to really know your way around campus ? I will be transferring there in 2019, and i'm unbelievably scared of how big it is and how to find everything without looking stupid. :(
I would say it took me about a week to figure my way around the main parts of campus, and then whenever I needed to go somewhere I didn't know I would use the MT app that has a map on it and find my way around using that until I learned the entire campus. It's actually pretty easy to understand the layout once you get on campus and are walking around for a few days.
Party's aren't really my scene, so I can't tell you an exact number or anything. I do know there are house parties near campus a pretty decent amount, and there are some Greek life parties as well, but MTSU is not known for its social life.
I like the location just fine, but as with a lot of college campuses, the immediate surrounding area is not the nice part of town. But I like the town of Murfreesboro as a whole. The best advice I could give you with picking a school is be sure to do your research! Whatever you're planning to major in, check MTSU's programs and see if the major you're interested in has a good program. For example, the aerospace major is great at MTSU, as is the journalism, film, animation, recording industry program, and so on. But some programs are not as strong. If you do decide to pick MTSU and have any questions, feel free to ask me in the comments of any video and I'll answer them to the best of my ability!
Katie Golan thank you so much! I’m interested in Sonography, to do ultrasounds and stuff like that. I know they have a program for that there, but do you know by any chance if the program is good?
MTSU is one of the schools I'm planning on touring. And I want to major in teaching performing arts like theatre, color guard, etc. do you have any tips?
It's a pretty good school. If you're really looking for a great social school, like parties and a lot of people on campus on the weekends, you should know that is kind of a downfall of the school. The social life isn't great. Do you have any specific questions? I'd be happy to answer any.
its fun watching you! you have a likeable personality :) you can use it to your advantage haha :) stay positive, there's so much negativity EVERYWHERE !! vlogging is hard I must say but super rewarding! keep making content thoo okay ? Totally not pitching anything to you 😝 but... I do these "super cool" motivational videos, you should swing by and check it out haha :) 🌎🇺🇸

thank you for sharing. I visited MTSU as a visiting professor 10 years ago. your video reminds me of my 6 months life there. so enjoyable!
so ready for college you don't even know! would LOVE to see a video dedicated to the classes you're in and what they entail. a lot of the ones you named are things that interested in! xx just subbed :)
College is a lot of fun! I'll for sure make a video about my classes within the next couple months! I subbed to you too!
It's been 6 years, how was college?
I'm going to MTSU in the fall😄
I'm happy to answer any questions if you have any :)
Katie Golan
Are there a lot of ways to get involved on campus?
For sure! There are a lot of clubs to join, but you kind of have to seek them out. There's also Greek life if you're interested in that. And there are these things called "connection points" which are events held on campus that are meant to get people involved and meeting people. There are a lot of these the first week of school.
Katie Golan
I've thought about Greek life, I'm just not sure how all of it works though😂
I'm not personally involved in it, but I have a lot of friends who are. There is "rushing" at the beginning of the year where you can check out the different sororities and see if you want to join any.
Great video! I attend MTSU as well and I'm pretty sure we live on the same floor because I recognize those hellacious stairs
Thank you! Oh yes those stairs get annoying real quick.
I love love love your videos!!! They are so helpful!! Keep up the good work!
I just came back from a campus tour of MTSU and I can't wait to go next fall.
I'm going to study Music Business
I will be attending this fall and I’m so excited😊❗️
Duyen thank you 💕
SO jealous that you get to wake up @ 8! I have to be up @ 5 and out by 6 to catch the bus to uni :(
It must be so nice to see McCallie’s without all sorts of construction! I pray it’s done soon. 🙄
I want to go here as a theater major next fall!!!

Please make more college videos. I'm attending to mtsu next semester, I'm kinda nervous about it.
Don't worry, more college videos are coming! I have a ton planned for this summer!
Love your Video!!! Im planning on attending MTSU in about 2 years. Any advice?

MTSU is only about 4 hours from me! I live in East Tennessee.

I’m also starting my freshman year his fall and I’m nervous af. Never had such wonky hours and I’m nervous about keeping on track 😩
Hell yeah MTSU! But I spend most of my time in the mass comm. If you need an interview for you vlogs hmu.
I really wanna go to UT in Knoxville but I don’t want to live alone then I’m tired of being in Murfreesboro 🤷🏾♀️
Go to UTK. MTSU is a joke 😂
Also going to MTSU in the fall and majoring in journalism. Did you like the theater appreciation class? I'm thinking about transferring to another school and that class is transferable.

I'll be a Nursing major here next fall. Kinda excited and scared for college ngl
I will Probably see you but wouldn't know who you are :D
@@blackdeku8917 Hope to unknowingly bump into you lmao
Do a tour of your dorm
I did one last semester. ruclips.net/video/XDast6CAu6o/видео.html
Transferring there next semester 😆
cute video!!!
Thank you :)
What dorm do you recommend? I'll be there next year and I haven't decided where to stay yet. How do you like the school?

I want to go to mtsu for flight training, I'm a junior in high school
CrispyyNinja oh, that's so cool! I'm also a junior and I wanna go to MTSU too!
So that's what mccalies looked like before construction😂(freshman)
Love this video😂
I go to mtsu

Are you a full time student? I'm asking bc I'm going to college but I'm a mommy so idk what to expect with hours
And I have to wait for orientation to get my classes
I am a full time student because I take 15 hours, but if you want to be a part time student you can take less than 12 hours a week.
I’m thinking about going to this school. What tips can you give me? Is MTSU in a good location?
