Syntac, all mutations are both color AND stat mutations (at least according to the wiki and personal experience). I thought it was one or the other until I got an orange-plated allo that also had a health mutation. It's just that many mutations result in colors that look similar or identical to the original pallet.
I don't think it makes a difference as to how you treat mutations that don't produce different colors, but it does mean that all your color mutations also have 2 additional levels in something.
Honestly, syntac's mutation videos make it a lot easier for me to not overrun my base with unwanted baby animals. I had a serious direwolf infestation when i first started breeding for mutations. Playing on my old pc it was enough to seriously lag things. I never really considered killing them before, but now an assault rifle is part of my responsible breeding kit :p
Grab a flashlight attachment, bro!!! The white light makes it easier to see your color mutations instead of being at the mercy of the ambient lighting.

you should make a little pen to put all the ankys in and when they need to die just divebomb them all with your griffin ... so much easier and you can save your bullets
I am such a sap. It makes sense to kill them, really it does. But the other day I was breeding thylas and I planned to off the ones I didn't need, but in the end I just couldn't. Now I have about 20 thylas at my base that I don't need 😂
Although it wouldn't have been a full mutation I think the purple with the blue legs and natural black would have looked a lot better than the orange blue and purple. Still wonderful video!
Challenge: see how high of a base level tame you can get, breed two level 180 dodos a bunch of times and only keep the best levels building up to a super-dodo. I've seen 350 base level tames on official, so this should give you an idea of how hard it could be.
Heartless for killing babies? I dunno.. I think you could improve your technique. Have a Lystro there following a dino you want XP on, and use that dino to kill the babies. Lots of high level kills combined with that Lystro, that's a lot of XP! Don't forget to cook up the babies afterwards and stash em in your hotbar! Omnomnom!
syntac did you now if you look down when you are on a griffin and hold the S button then you fly straight up while still looking down so you can dive quicker and easier
