From what I heard, the Norwegian AF F-5s were built by Canadair over in Canada. They built the Canadian ones. Anyways, it appears they didn't quite have the rights to do that from Northrop, so they had to cough up a severe peanlty, that wiped out any profits they made out of the deal. I worked on the 15% spar and dorsal longeron of the CF116 (as we called them in Canada).
