I'd suggest making sure your pressing your ultimate reactivation buttons in the correct sequence, I played on controller kept activating grapple also. Definitely do some testing in the training and try to mimic what the issue is, maybe you might have to re-keybind 1 of the 2 Ult activation buttons on an easier layout for you. Best of luck, lmk what happens!

Great question! So someone directly behind her may still get hit with charged releases but most light attacks might be far enough away to be blocked

Like all ult from all hero , just wait and let it run out. But shai ult is lowkey quiet. No one gonna see it unless they atk in.

Luckily if she jumps, dodges or crouches it will use up all her shields so you can bait deplete them quickly
